Thelis was relieved when both responded. They'd been granted shore leave and he hadn't been certain they would answer. He double timed it to the cargo bay and arrived somewhat breathless.
"Thank you both for coming." He panted, taking a moment to catch his breath before continuing.
"As you know, this ship was the cause of considerable trouble. Bringing it on board has not deactivated it. It still remains a potential threat until we understand how it works. That potential is multiplied by the fact that the Captain was implanted with a neuro-transmitter chip that interfaces directly with the ship's systems. It was meant to give him control of it once he'd "purchased" it however, there were no instructions provided on how to use this interface. There is a very real danger that the ship and it's weapons could be activated accidentally or that the Captain could be harmed by not knowing how to use the implant. We need to determine the mechanics of both the implant and the ship as quickly as possible."

He gave Lt Thelis a nod then set his Satchel of Tools on the deck, before he began the walk around the Vessel technical scanner already at work. "Understood Lt. S I can tell ys ther is a Constant signal being sent out by this thing . there should be a wayto shut it off" , at least he hoped so.

Thelis circled the ship, comparing the scans with his own visual observations.
"We don't want to shut it down, at least not yet. We don't even know yet whether it's functioning at it should and according to programming. What if turning if off resets it's sales program and it starts it's demonstration all over again, on Terrasect? Ideally, I feel the Captain and the ship should be monitored simultaneously until we figure out how one affects the other."

Initial scans do not penetrate the hull of the small vessel, due to an alloy in the skin of the ship that can absorb normal sensors

After visiting the Station, he heads back to the ship and stops in the Cargo/shuttle bay staying Out of the CSCI and CENG way, he looks at the ship.
He watched the CSCI circled the ship, Buford's ear raised as he heard a humming sound, he didn't know if they could hear it or not, but it was their "Can Ya'll hear that humming coming from the ship?" he asked hoping he wasn't over stepping his bounds

He laughed and smiled so everyone knew he meant no offense just the way Lt Buford B. Hound said it struck his fancey he liked it Short and, simple. "That would be the signal I was talking about, no doubt Directed at the devise in the Captains brain." He then gave Lt Thelis a slow thoughtful nod. "Well the Hull..." ::he touched it as he Spoke and adjusted his Scanner. "..does not allow for any Scanning I will have to do all my studies from inside. 'course there will most likely be Security protocals to by pass but that should be no problem, I mean Starfleets, Klingons and, other so called security systems are easy enough for a Ferengi, that is for one with my talents." Grined slightly

Thelis's expression was sober despite the engineer's assurances.
"I have no doubt it's well within your ability. I would just feel more secure about this process if the Doctor were present. In my opinion this is something of an invasion of privacy by extension. In the early days when they were just beginning to understand the functions of the humanoid brain, they would stimulate certain areas of it electrically and watch to see what processes responded to it. We could touch something here and the Captain, as an unknowing participant, might be responding to the stimuli. At the least it could be an indignity and at the worst, well I don't want to consider that too closely."

Buford listens his ears raise up, as he looks at La'ta'nM "Could in not be coming from the Captains brain to the ship"
He study the ship looking at it closely when he hear the scans didn't work, then he looked to Thelis when he heard him voiced his concern about messing with the ship
"I reckon it could lead to the Captain's death, if it was done wrong, but I'm wondering why something scans can't penetrate would have such an easy way in to the ship as opening a door from the outside?" he asks
He tilts his head as he sniffs the air for new scents " Their was no pilot on board when it came in, maybe the captain has to open it up" he says, he knows hes out of his league in here, but this was so interesting to him

"Those are some excellent points lieutenant." He stopped his inspection and seemed to really notice Buford for the first time. "You said you could hear the sound the signal makes on the ship? Are you also aware of the neuro-chip?' He cocked an eyebrow as he waited for the Kaindorian's response.

Buford tilts his head, his ears lean back in surprised "Yes'um Iz can smell it, his body now has a silicon scent, it was not their before" He then straitens his head up "Iz could hear humming coming from him, but I thought it was my station" he replies

"Perfect! You may even be able to detect more than the Doctor would with a portable scanner. Would you go to the bridge and monitor the Captain? Follow through on that idea of your's that he might be able to control the ship from there also. Maintain constant communication and if 'anything' unusual happens, notify us immediately." With an arm around the Helm officer's shoulder Thelis was already directing him toward the cargo bay doors.

Buford looks at Thelis "I should be able to detect more than the Doctor would with a portable scanner. My ears and nose are much better"
"It would be an honor to monitor the Captain?" his tail wags as Thelis talks to him " Iz will Follow through on the idea that Captain might be able to control the ship from there"
He notices Thelis arm around him, and spends pinning Thelis arm be hind him, be for he remembered human ways "I'm sorry Thelis on my planet we only touch for two reasons, to show strength and well, I sure ya'll can quest the other" his tail wags faster
he exits the shuttle bat and opens a com to Thelis to maintain a constant communication with him

Surprised, Thelis quickly pulled his arm away and laughed. "Well, I'm not ready to challenge you in a combat of strength and I'm not looking for a date." He made as if to clap him on the back and smiled. "Comm us when you've arrived."

Buford's Tail wags in laughter at Thelis comment, while he was on his way to the lift, "I left my comm open... he says with a pause "Perhaps its not a good idea don't want the Captain thinking Iz isz spying on him" he ends the comm
The doors swish shut "Bridge" he says the lift starts moving, it stops on the Bridge deck stepping off, he enters the Bridge
Tapping his Comm badge "Lt Thelis I am back on the bridge" he walks up to the Captain, and looks him over
"Ya'll doing good Sir?" he asks then lowers his voice so others can't hear "I mean with that implant in ya'all"
