He watched the engineer a moment longer, then continued. "Cogito ergo sum, Captain. I think therefore I am. If this ship is aware of it's own existence, then it is in fact sentient. If that is the case, we can't keep treating it as a mere experiment." He stared at the Captain as if this were self-evident and waited for him to concede the point.
"I do not know. How do you know you are a he or Doctor MacAuley knows that she is a she? I think that question is irrelevant and you should start.."
Thelis's eyes widened and his mouth dropped open as the Captain began to speak in another voice entirely
"Stop touching me!" The childlike voice, he assumed, belonged to the ship but hearing it was still a shock.
"Captain, is that the same voice you hear in your head?"

He slowly lowered his hand and stepped away only slightly a smile still on his face then it slid away as he spoke,"Temperamental just like most other vessels, In many ways every ship is alive. Even the Terrasect is alive if you listen to her. She being a lady needs T.L.C., I admit I take my ship, meaning the Terrasect, over any other, unlike most of the crew who see her as a tool to get them where they wanna go then protect them when they get in trouble. I know she is a lady to be cherished. Perhaps this one dislikes me but he is none the less the same way. We just gots to find out what it wants so we can get what we want." While he gave his long speech which most likely made those present believe he was Crazy but, thats okay he did not expect even the Captain to understand how he felt about the "Terra", he walked around the vessel studying it visually using no equipment he was looked from top to bottom front to back or Bow to stern, port to Starboard. "Now if yas wants my help Fine when i give yasan idea listen as I listen ta you. If'n yas Dun't want my help Say so." Still walked around the Vessel Looking at it."Need to give the Captain Something to block the Alpha wave Communication link from the ship to the Captain But, do it quickly and all at once other wise we will be standing here forever. It will allow us to look at it with out hurting the Captain. now I knows we will need to test it out first. once the Doctor has done her part one of us can gently see if it works by doing only that which Thelis has done before. unless you do not trust Dr, MacAuly's Talents as you seem to distrust mine. personally I would trust her with my life" the last part he spoke stern and unwaveringly.he now Stood looking at them waiting for a response.

He relaxed, calming down a bit. He didn't mean to be short with Lat and Thelis but the caressing irritated him until the craft had stopped sending the psychic signals into his mind. He looked at Thelis, a little perplexed at first then he grew thoughtful "Perhaps you're correct. I do concede that fact. The craft feels sentient. Whoever the creator, it seems that a conscious mind, with personalities, was programmed into a computer, very much like Commander Data from the Enterprise. As for the voice, it does sound similar but not as loud or high pitched."
He looked back to Lat'an'm as he spoke, looking over the ship from top to bottom, side to side and all over, relieved that he removed his hand "I am sure you would be just as temperamental if some strange being started rubbing all over you." He commented to the Engineer "I do not see the Terrasect as a mere tool. I see her as a home and yes, she needs to be taken care of as such." He looked at the craft with a thoughtful expression "I believe I already know what it.. wants." He paused to communicate with the craft a moment before continuing "He wishes to learn, to live a life like any sentient being would. Much like commander Data" as he referred to earlier. "As for your assistance, I believe it is required, as is Thelis' and Doctor MacAuley's. I do not wish to block the link, if that is possible. I am uncertain what the craft's reaction would be if such an attempt is made. I wish to monitor my bio signs and his, what bio signs he may have along with the artificial part of him. As for trusting Doctor MacAuley with my life, I already do. She has saved my life a couple times already."
A couple moments later, the craft's hull would seem to shimmer for a moment. Preliminary Sensor readings can now be taken of the craft

((Sorry for the extreme delay in posting))
His eyes widened as he tried to absorb all the commotion and technical talk, relying on Brexen's persona to help him sort it out... His thinking was then interrupted by a shrill, childish voice making a remark in a demanding tone to stop being touched.. Startled, he stepped back..
"What the???" he said, looking around.
"Umm... Mister Thelis, I think we can safely assume that we do have a a sentient entity on our hands, and one that sounds like a young boy. I'd rather not see 'him' get upset, for the sake of the ship and crew."
He decides to try a tactic, that may help ease their situation. Despite feeling trepidation toward the drone, he slowly approaches it, careful to make no threatening moves.
"I'm not sure if you can understand me, but we'll stop touching you... Can you tell us who you are?"

"I am who and what you see." came the reply to Commander Ijoula's inquiry. The craft, again, using Captain Two Dawns to speak through. To the group, the ship announced, with the Captain's assistance "You may take readings with your instraments now."
Premlinary Sensor Readings - Size - 50 meters in length, 15 meters in height. Decks - 2 - 4 phaser banks - total output - 250,000 terrawatts - 2 rapid fire torpedo tubes, 1 Burst fire tube - weapons inventory - 40 quantum torpedos, 40 tri-cobalt quantum torpedoes, 25 Polaron torpedos, 25 transphasic torpedos - Shield Strength - 9,180,000 terajoules. Light based hull, can be invisable to sensors - Transwarp capable, using a combination Quantum singularity drive and a trilithium warp drive - Maximum speed - Transwarp 20. Also capable of entering Slipstream but at the cost of ship systems and mental energy from the user
Terrasect Action - A transmission from StarFleet Headquarters is being recieved on the bridge, by the Operations control panel

"Infinitely preferred over the previous methods." Thelis groused and began scanning.
"I have all the basic information now however," He cleared his throat. "The neural aspect will still need to be mapped out..as soon as possible. Will you ask 'him' if stimulating you in that manner will cause him any discomfort?"

He read the Ships Specifications out loud as he memorized them at the same time. "At least one was trying. As you can see a ship including the Terra is more than a home" After Looking around the cargo bay he began studying the Specs as he spoke and heading for the Bay doors toward the Corridor."On that same note I am a Ferengi just because I own a fleet of freighters and escort vesselsdoes not mean I expect to find away to gather more Latanum or mass more wealth while i am here. I am as interested in pure Science as you are."he then stepped out of the bay heading for Engineering still studying the Specs.

He was listing to all that was said, and looking at the ship, when La'ta'nM left Buford's tail wagged "A Ferengi not expecting to gain Latanum or mass more wealth" he looked at everyone "that be like me not wanting a bone to nawl on" his tail wags faster

The Craft spoke, through Captain Two Dawns "Stimulation, by touch, does not bother me but through the neural link, I can sense that Captain Two Dawns is irritated, if I interpreted the emotion correctly, by it,"
Captain Two Dawns spoke for himself "It is a bit unnerving to suddenly be feeling something that you have no idea where it is coming from. Plus the fact of having someone or some thing speak through me is unsettling."
"I can find another avenue of expression" The craft replied, through Captain Two Dawns, then the dull glow from Grabfoot's eyes would dim
A minute would pass then the ship's computer would speak up, with the craft's voice, it sounding more feminine "I have found another avenue.." A pause then the computer came back "Captain, I have intercepted a message that I think you should hear."
Message is as followed
Starfleet Alert: There has been an event in Sector Z-6. All starships are ordered to stay clear of that sector until further notice or otherwise ordered.
Admiral Darrel Beechum Assistant Director, Starfleet Operations
The Craft would continue "My sensors are more advanced then those on your ship. I have detected some anomalies out near sector Z-6. Current scans would indicate the rate the anomalies' appearance are beginning to increase."
To be continued..

He listened to all those that spoke, even himself, even though the craft had spoken through him. A fact that he brought up that he found that unsettling. The craft seemed to understand and found the ship's computer to speak for him, which he is greatful
He watched as Lat took his readings and left then Burford seak, wagging his tail, as usual. He was about to comment that a Ferengi scientist and not wanting to amass more wealth then he already had was a bit strange when the Craft/Ship's computer spoke up again "Captain Two Dawns, I am intercepting another transmission. This is from the USS Tarawa, who's current position is out near Deep Space 4. I would interpret this as a distress call. The message is as followed:
Starfleet Command:
This is LtCol Ralph Hall, USS Tarawa, acting CO, we have encountered a rift, and are trapped in an unknown energy cloud thats eating our energy.
Reports enclosed. I do not think it wise to send another ship in to the cloud until we know what were dealing with. We are studying the rift and the cloud, we will keep you posted, I think they might related
"My long range sensors would indicate there are no other ship's in the area to assist."
Grabfoot would look like he is looking off into the far distance. With the neural link, he could sense what the ship is sensing on his long range sensors. He came to a decision "I know the Admiral has ordered no other ships in that vicinity but they are in need of assistance.."
He tapped his comm badge, opening a transmission to all Terrasect personnel "Terrasect Personnel. This is Captain Two Dawns. As of this moment, shore leave is now over. Return to the ship and report back to your stations in 30 minutes."
To be continued in the new Main SL thread

"If you'll excuse me then, Captain?" Thelis gave a brief nod and receiving no order to counter his self-dismissal, hurried after Buford.

Thelis ran a remote scan of Thunder. The ship was no worse for the wear after it's excursion through the rift. Captain GrabFoot too was in the pink of health. Perhaps that wasn't the most appropriate phrase to use. Thelis had no idea what color the captain's skin was underneath his fur.
Thelis had two days of beard growth that had begun to itch. He scratched it thoughtfully. The question that currently held his attention was who had initiated the rescue? Did Thunder communicate his interest in assisting the captain or did the captain's concern translate itself to Thunder, causing him to take action? Given the degree of their integration, it was also possible the decision had been mutual, but who had acted as the catalyst?
The captain, as usual, had shown no concern over Thunder's sudden introduction to the mission and so it was up to Thelis, as usual, to insure that no latent problem was overlooked. He scratched his chin again, finger combed his hair back out of his eyes, and began an in depth scan for any sign of parasitic life picked up while within the rift.
