I have been promoted to Acting Chief of Security by Captain Radaik, I hope I do not disappoint Her in anyway.

We have now finished our mission to Acamar III and the Captain was briefed on our next mission. I believe it is to be a diplomatic mission, we have had a total of 12 guests join us for this mission.

Captain Ronald Smith was transferred to a different ship, that will take him the rest of the way to the Starbase.

I am still feeling the effects of my away trip to the planet's surface, I have stopped by sickbay recently to make sure Anarra was keeping all of the crew healthy, and she has assured me that the are being well taken care of. She did a scan on me and assured me that I'm in perfect health. Dr. Danrea is one of the best doctors I have ever met so I am sure she is right.

Acting Chief of Security Log, Stardate 62911.36

We had a dinner reception for the Ambassador and his guests this evening, but for the captain, Doctor Danrea, and I, the banquet was cut short. One of the scientists was murdered in his quarters. At this time I have no clue as to why he was murdered, or who did it; Hopefully doctor Danrea's autopsy will shed some light onto this topic. He was stabbed from behind 6 times, one of which struck his heart, and has scratches on his left shoulder. It looks as though he was attacked from behind while at his sink, and that he struggled to get towards the communications panel by the door. We were however able to find a locke of hair and a piece of cloth in his hand. Petty Officer Carl McMahon was in charge of escorting Mr. Johnson, and I will be having a talk with him shortly about where he was and why he wasnt we he was ordered to be. ::he looks at his watch and sees its almost time to meet with Mr. McMahon::

Acting Chief of Security's Log, Supplemental

Anarra has completed her autopsy on Dr. Johnson and the results are in. It seems Dr. Johnson killer was a Ktarian. Since there are no Ktarian crew members, we were lead to believe that the killer was another scientist. After checking the records, there is one Ktarian scientist on board, Dr. Trediak. Because Dr. Trediak is currently the only Ktarian onboard the ship , he is the only suspect right now. I don't know what his motives would have been for doing such a thing, but I figure it had to be for a personal gain. Well, I still need to interrogate this Dr. Trediak, and I also need to talk to Mr. McMahon and see why he was not present and doing his job.

Acting Chief of Security's Log, Stardate 62930.38

::He just sighs for a moment:: Just when I thought we were getting things under control, we have another Murder onboard. This time it was a Naussican male in Cargo Bay 1, and it was also again caused by multiple stab wounds to vital organs. This worries me because there were not supposed to be any Naussicans onboard, which also means that this guy is a John Doe. The fact that the Naussican got onboard without my knowing, and the fact that Mr. Pierce was sent by someone to take over as the watchman for Dr. Johnson, and noone knows who, leads me to believe that the killer may be, or have allies in the New York's Security Department. Also, it seems that my first lead may not pan out after all. Dr. Trediak has a solid alibi during the time of the last murder, and he has volunteered to me a locke of his hair for DNA matching. That will put me back at square one, except now I'll have 2 dead bodies instead of one. ::shakes his head in disappointment::

There were also three Orion Pirate ships that attacked the ship. They were easily handled and posed no major threat, but we did monitor a subspace message from whom I assume is the killer, that said Phase one had been complete, but he thought we were on to him. I am going to have Lt. Montag try and trace the source of the signal, and see if I cant get a lead as to who the killer really is.

Acting Chief of Security's Log, Stardate 62949.59

We have finally figured it out. But I'm sorry to say the killer has seemingly escaped. It seems that the killer is of the Lyran species. Soon after we figured that out, we were attacked by 3 Orion ships and a Lyran vessel, two of the ships were destroyed, and the other two bugged out. However, it seems that the killer was transported off the ship by the Lyran vessel. Although our shields were up at the time, it seems that they used our deflector dish as a means of transporting him. We cannot prove that the killer left the ship. However, we could never actually prove that there was indeed a Lyran on board the ship. VS Yhea Hreinteh assisted me with the investigation today, and I must say he did a very good job. He found the means of the communication between the Orions and the Lyran killer, it was a standard Starfleet Communicator. Doctor Danrea also performed the autopsy on the Naussican, and she found Lyran hair, inside the wounds. I feel a little better knowing that the threat has most likely been romoved from the ship. But, it angers me that the Lyran was able to get on board, kill two people, and get away without us so much as even seeing him.

Personal Notes: Ensign Zandile Rey and I have been seeing each other for about a two weeks now, and I must say, I am quite taken with her. We have had a few dinners, spent some time together on the holodeck, and met a few times in ten forward. I think that if I wouldn't have had her to take my mind off of this investigation, I probably would have went crazy.

Acting Chief of Security's log, Stardate 62972.48

This has been one of the best days of my life. A christmas Party was held this evening in the ships ballroom, and my brother Trevor surprised me by showing up on my doorstep. He was a most welcomed sight, because we were able to talk about his recent assignment to the USS Pegasus, and I was able to take my mind off of all the ships recent activities. Also, I had probably the happiest moment in my life last night. I asked of Ensign Zandile Rey's hand in marriage, and she said yes! I gave her a beautiful ring which had 6 diamonds, One big diamond, with 5 smaller ones circleing the top half of the big one. I will never forget the look on her face when I asked her, and Trevor told me he will never forget the look on mine when she said yes. ::He would chuckle a bit.:: I think I might possibly be one of the luckiest men in the universe, if not the luckiest; Zandile is more than any guy could ever hope for. We have yet to work anything out yet, but I'm sure we will soon. I hope she wants to take charge of the wedding, because I am not the most organized person around, ::He would chuckle.:: a definate candidate for the worst though. I must go now, Zandile and Trevor are waiting for me in the officers mess hall, we are going to have a "Family dinner."

Chief of Security's Log, Stardate 63120.38

We had some visitors today, from the listening post. It was a pair of Romulans that needed to be treated for medical injuries. One of them put up wuite a fuss when Anarra tried to treat him. Captain Radaik came and talked to him and then he calmed down and let her do her job. I feel bad for her sometimes, she takes a lot of guff from most visitors we get onboard. Anyway, after they were healed I escorted them to the Transporter Room where they were transported back to their listening post. On a more personal note, Anarra and Mark were wed on betazed over the weekend, It was a beautiful ceremony, I wasnt real enthusiastic about prancing around naked myself, but it all worked out I suppose.

While in the starbase lounge last night, I ran across Stephanie Fox, and as it turns out, she hadn't been home in over a month! Just when I was getting up to a good point I think, she ran off, and just like clockwork, there came Keith. I talked with Keith a little bit about it, and he can't control her, and he felt bad cause he couldnt devote as much time to her as he wanted. So Me and Zandile talked about it for a while, and we have decided to adopt Stephanie, we signed the papers last night. I am a little worried that Me and Zandile may not be ready to be parents, especially of a 7 year old, but I wasn't about to let her go walking around unattended on the space station for another month. Yesterday was her 7th birthday, I hope getting a new mommy and daddy to love was a good present for her.

The away team was checked out in sickbay today upon returning from the mission. I suppose everyone was healthy, I was the first to get done. I feel kinda bad though, I snapped at Anarra a bit for making me have to go through that, and I'm not sure why. I did go back and apologize later for it, but I still feel bad about it. Zandile and I decided to put the security staff through another round of drills, and I have put her in charge of making the drill program a bit tougher that last time, Im sure she will do just that... being Vulcan, I hope she just doesnt make it too rough. I've set up the conference room, and I believe the Colonel and I are soon going to interrogate our guests, assuming they are well enough to participate that is.

I have been made acting chief of security. I hope I won't be at this post long, because I'd rather be Asec and have Tyler here than be in charge and alone. I will perform my duties to the best of my abilities, however, and try to be happy that the Captain thinks I am ready to be in charge.

I made some normal rounds for awhile, checking in with all of the teams and such. I also ordered the security personel to do a full inventory of the armory, a task that was much needed but not done until because of hectic missions and then shore leave. Everything is accounted for and we have a full weapons complement, however, and I have turned in the report to the captain. I was then called to assist Colonel Stevenson escort the ambassador to the surface and my team and I are waiting in the shuttlebay for launch.

The shuttle trip to the capitol building went without incident. I got to pilot the shuttle and get a good look at all the protestors all over the place. Once the Tal Shiar guards were ready, I landed the shuttle and we escorted the ambassador inside the building. He hurried off to his office once we got inside and Colonel Stevenson, the security team and I returned to the New York. Once we got back, we heard that the Ambassador suffered a stroke, but I didn't hear any reports of his condition after the stroke. I hope he's ok, he's a nice man and a good ambassador.

I was suprised at the beginnging of my duty shift with an official promotion to Chief of Security. I'm happy the captain thinks so highly of me, but I guess this means she doesn't expect Tyler to come back to the New York any time soon. Why does everything good that happens to me have some sort of terrible 'catch' to it?

Anyway, I heard word that the Ambassador's medical status is improving. I also have heard reports of the worsening disruption on the surface. I was assisting the new marine commanding officer, Iris, get ready to go down to the planet and have fun doing crowd control, but we were ordered to stand down. I suppose we're off to do something else fun, but in the meantime, we'll probably sit around bored, waiting for action.

After an interesting away mission to the science outpost, we have returned to the ship and started off toward Romulus again. I wonder what we're going to do there?

Anyway, the new Asec met up with us on the surface, and I assigned him to accompany a Romulan security patrol while we were on the surface. Samantha and I also wandered around a bit. We were going to explore a cave, but Teshurr's patrol had already gone in there and not found anything, so we decided to return to the base.

After we got back to the ship, I showed Teshurr where the Asec office is and welcomed him aboard. At least I left the office in better shape than I found it in. Tyler also left a mess in my current office, but I left it alone to remember him by. ::She looks sad as she ends the log.::
