The captain is very worried about being called back to Romulus. We finally arrived back today and everyone else was given shore leave as the captain attends her review. I hope it goes well for her...
The most interesting thing that happened in security during the shift was a bar fight that a team respoded to. I have called the instigators to my office and diciplined them for the breach of protocol. I think the captain has too much to worry about to have to deal with this. However, if the incident is repeated, I can ask Colonel Stevenson to assist in diciplining them.
I was also surprised today with a promotion to full lieutenant. I plan to continue doing my job to the best of my ability. Perhaps when Tyler returns, he'll have to work under me... if he returns that is...

Things have been fairly uneventful lately. I decided not to go on shore leave with the rest of the crew... time off gives me too much time to think of things I'd rather not think about...
When everyone got back, I made sure that the security team members were all on the same shift rotation again. Then, Colonel Stevenson gave orders to start a full inventory of all weapons and other equipment to see what we have picked up or lost since the last full overhaul and inventory. It goes smoothly, but it's time consuming, considering that every weapon on the ship has to be counted.

I feel really... out of it. The only time I know what I'm doing is when I'm on duty, when I have a purpose. We finished inventory, by Colonel Stevenson's orders. Now I'm just waiting for what is going to happen next, making sure the ship is in order.

I changed the duty shift roster, so I started handing out the changed schedule to all the security people I could find. Teshurr then reported that some security scanners on deck 10 were not working properly. I happened to be in the area, so I supervised the team that went to check it out. There was nothing out of the ordinary, though. The scanners were put back online and the rounds continued.
On another note: Teshurr is turning out to be a fine officer and a good addition to the security forces on this ship.

Begin Cheif Security officer's log stardate 63588.71
We finally get to go on an away mission. We are going to check some caves and tunnels on the surface of Justarius to see if the lifesigns we detected there are friendly or not. I'm taking Ensign Teshurr, a team of 5 security members along with S'anara and Tecaz. We've been given personal cloaking devices and enough weapons to give us the advantage, should a fight arise. I look forward to a challenge, but as always, I will strive for peace and agreement before resorting to fighting.
On a personal note... I haven't heard from Tyler in a couple months. I wonder if he's forgotten me...

The away mission was a success. We managed to get in and out without being found. There were a few noisy mishaps, but all turned out well. I hope S'anara and Tecaz found a lot of information. My main job was to make sure we didn't get killed, so I'm not sure what all they found out. There were some interesting mines blocking our way, a bunch of shuttles and fighters in a hangar, and some other interesting readings. I trust S'anara can analyze them.
I saw Mark lurking about the ship today, so I know Anarra is really happy for once. I never doubt that he will return, no matter how long he is gone. It is Tyler who never contacts me. I have run into dead ends wherever I ask about him. I also don't feel well, but I don't plan on going to sickbay and ruining Anarra's good mood.

We had a staff meeting today just as I was called to sickbay for a physical. I dodged the phaser blast this time, but I am heading to sickbay soon because I know Anarra will be on my case again very soon. Perhaps it is for the best. I don't feel well. I wish there was a counselor to talk to. In the mean time, I will do the best I can.

Anarra says I'm fine. I guess how bad I feel is all in my head... something that can go away when I find out where my husband is. I fear the worst now... maybe he found someone else, maybe he just doesn't care about me, maybe he's lost or maybe he's dead. I want to know, I need to know. I would like him back or at the very least maybe I can continue with life. I can't take it anymore, I know that.
Now I need to go find out what I missed while I was in sickbay...as soon as I get some prisoners into the brig... There's been some talk of setting explosives in the caves that I need to research.

Another week, no word from my husband. I must keep up hope, though logically, I know hope is wishful thinking. I have cried many tears in my lonliness. I haven't slept soundly for so long... ::she sighs:: I love him so much, but I get the distinct feeling he doesn't love me anymore, or he can't love me anymore. I will keep looking and keep waiting for him, though... it's all I can do now.
We went on an away and blew the caves to kingdom come. It was very fun.

Computer begin log, stardate 63719.57
The beginning of my shift was spent on the bridge, where I spoke to the helm officer, Rhian as I prepared duty shift rosters for the security department. We were monitoring the marines as the attacked the intruders in the mines. The battle began to be very heated, so security teams, including myself, and a few volunteers, Rhian and our ops officer, went down to back them up. We were under heavy fire, and as many as we take out, 5 more seem to spring up in their place. Rhian was injured and I gave him a handheld phaser and threw a knife at the one who got him. In the process of retrieving my knife, I was hit, but since I covered Rhian's back, he covered mine. Hopefully this battle will end soon and we can retake this planet.

The battle was furious, and several were injured. I went straight into them and ripped the enemy soldiers apart with my bare hands and knife. I can't explain why I did that, but I feel much calmer inside after that outburst of rage. Rhian went down and had to be beamed back to sickbay. I hope he is ok. The colonel was beamed up, and then back so he could keep fighting. I'm ignoring my own injuries. Injuries to our personel were fairly heavy, but actual casualties were light. I do not look forward to sending home letters to families, along with the letters from the captain.

We are back on the planet, making sure the area is safe. We are being careful of land mines and the unknown civilians close to our position.
I have failed in my job. I let my anger and bloodlust control me last time we were here, and the one who was trying to protect my back, Rhian, was injured badly. He lost an arm and is going back to Romulus. I was supposed to cover his back... I blame myself. I shall miss him... I had been feeling that perhaps he understood my sadness. This day I vow to myself, and may the gods hear it and keep me to my word... I have nothing to live for save my job. I vow to my job... to protect all who have something to live for, with my life if necessary. My emotions, especially anything positive are gone, replaced with ony this promise in my soul, if I even still have one.

We cleaned up on the surface. Lt Kinsely and his engineering team repaired damaged equipment while Teshurr and his team helped some of the miners. When we were finished, we returned to the ship. Next, I will interrogate a prisoner. Well, question him would be the more appropriate term, unless he puts up a fight. And I will be more than willing to fight back if he does.

I got to take out some of my anger on the prisoner during interrogation. We arrived at Romulus again and turned all the prisoners over to the Tal'Shiar before I got anything out of the prisoner, other than he was on the surface for the booze. I knew he was lying, but this issue is up to the Tal'Shiar now. I will have to go take my emotions out on holodeck opponets, I suppose.
Rhian returned to Romulus as well. It breaks my heart all over again to see him go, but I wish him well in the future. At least I got to say goodbye to him and I know where he is, so I can visit him again.
I know I'm worrying everyone... I try not to worry them, but I do not eat when I am not hungry, and I haven't been hungry in a very long time. I try to sleep, but nighmares wake me up. I am trying, I really am. I want to be better, but it's so hard. I just need to be alone to deal with my feelings, and be careful to not leave myself open to get hurt yet again.

I stayed on duty while the rest of the crew had shoreleave. I would have gone down to Romulus to see Rhian, but that planet holds unpleasant memories for me. I sent him a letter telling him I missed him and explained why I couldn't go down to the surface. We just weren't meant to be.
I had a lot of work to catch up on and my office was quiet enough so I could concentrate. I got all of my paperwork done and I headed for the armory. I spent some time cleaning and repairing weapons. I look forward to testing them. Target practice is always fun.
