Anarra Danrea has been promoted to XO and I have been promoted to Chief Medical Officer. This has been a surprise. Not Danrea's promotion, she deserved it. I will do my best, but I did learn from the best.

We survived the battle and have made it the Rihannsu repair station. I had over half the crew visit Sick bay sometime during the battle. I am a bit worried about Zan. Not her physical, but about her mental health. She is so certain that she must have let her people down. Fortunately Pardek has asked her to visit a beach house. I am all for it. Not all medicine comes from hypo spray. She is much calmer with him around and that is what she needs to heal. Of course, Riov Radiak stayed on the bridge and refused both the medic and Anarra’s attempts to treat her. I realize that as a Rihannsu, the Riov feels that she must wait until every crew member is treated, but it just makes my job harder if she almost bleeds to death. Thank the Elements, she did not collapse until she was in Sick Bay, and I was able to get her treated and stable. She checked herself out of Sick bay when I was busy elsewhere. At least the rest of my charges are healing and obeying my instructions.

We have been very busy in the last few months. I have not had time even for my regular logs. Now we have over half the crew with some ailment that mimics intoxication. I and my medics are going over all the tests, and now I am going to the station to see if I can find some answers there.

This is going to be a short log tonight. I am tired but very happy. For the second time since I have joined the New York, I have delivered a baby. Little Gregor is healthy and sound, and with Zan and Joh as parents, will be loved and cared for. Of course the whole ship will try to spoil him the same as they do Anarra's little girl.

We still chase the Hatham vessel. It is hard to believe that Rihannsu would turn traitor, but each has to follow his own path. Yhea was rescued and came down for an exam. I would have liked to have kept him in sickbay for at least the night, but he was so keyed up to go back that it would be worse had I kept him. Also, I have 5 seriously injured crew members in sickbay as it is. Three have serious burns and 2 with broken limbs. I sent the medic working with me back to her quarters to rest. She will be fresh when we catch up with the ship.
