With an Away team meeting going on I was unable to complete the medical checks of senior officers. Thus the list stays the same as my last log, being:

With my new found free time I was able to review past medical logs of both the gamma and beta shift and revise the crew rotations to make accomodations for new medical staff crew members. Sickbay is quiet, and the medical lab is running well. I still am waiting for a new AMO from starfleet. I will make sure I speak to the captain about this soon.

Computer Begin CMO's Log Authorization Anarra Five Theta Two Charlie.
I was able to start again at least on the crew physicals, I was able to get Lt. Zandile Rey-Baccus in for her physical. Physically shes fine, but I'm worried about Zandile, she's taking the loss of Tyler far harder then I initially thought. Shes burying herself in work far too much. I hope she can survive this, the more I think about it the more I realize that she and Tyler were not Imzadi, I know she will survive this somehow, I just don't know how yet. I will be speaking with the counselor soon about this, she needs to talk with a professional, and as her friend, I don't think I'm that person.
I have called both the Captain and Samantha to sickbay to have their physicals. Hopefully they will be coming down soon, I know that they are two of the ones that do not like physicals and usually have to be dragged down to get them taken care of.

After trying to get the Captain and Lt. Jaris down for their physicals I finally gave up and began to do inventory. I'm afraid that this pregnancy has taken alot more out of me than I thought it would. I'm becoming more tired, and just doing inventory is making my back hurt, since it does involve bending. I hope to find an AMO soon, I'm going to need one at the rate I'm going. Hopefully the nurses and other staff can fill in till then. I still hope to finish the medical evals of the senior officers. I was finally able to get Samantha down here for her physical, everything turned out fine, and now I owe her a milkshake for making her run.::laughs:: I still have to get to Mark and the Captain, but with Mark off ship and in his fighter that makes things difficult. I attempted to get the captain down here for her physical, and even tried to go to the bridge to get her to come down with me. Needless to say it did not go well. I will be forced next time to drag her down to sickbay kicking and screaming if I have to.
I have also added Yhea to my list of people who need to have their yearly physicals done. He has been busy elsewhere on this ship, and I have not seen him in several days. Hopefully he will come down soon. We also have two new crew members that I hope to get their records transferred and a basic member physical done on them as well.
From what I hear, the action outside is getting quite interesting. Im thinking of asking engineering to install windows into sickbay so we can see the action going on outside...but that probably isnt possible since we arnt near the hull of the ship. Sometimes I feel so cut off from the action on the ship.

After dealing with a minor crisis with an engineering officer I next had to deal with the major issue of Rhian Khev, who was injured while on an away mission. He had major tissue damage in both of his arms, as well as injuries to his hips. I tried to save his right arm but to no avail, the damage was just too serious and the connections just couldnt be remade. I dont think the neuron connections will spread any further in his systems.
I was able to effectivly repair the rest of his injuries, and am sure he will make a full recovery. He took the news about his arm surprisingly well. I will keep him in sickbay a few more days for observation then release him, but I dont think he will be ready to go on full active duty for at least a week if not two. He does seem to be a great candiate for a prosthetic arm. I will be talking with him about his options and will be replicating one soon and attaching it. There is no reason to think why this injury will impede his duties as an officer in either starfleet or on romulas.
For now I have more paitents coming up with injuries from the fire fight on the surface as well as medical physicals to do for the year round physicals and the new officers. Those left for the year round physicals are:

After checking on all of the injured and Rhian the captain entered sickbay to visit with the injured. It was then that she informed Rhian that he would be headed to Romulas to receive honors for what happend on the surface of the planet. While most romulans would be honored at this, Rhian acted the exact opposite and got in a fight with the captain rushing out of sickbay. I was ordered to go after him.
As Rhian is a half betazoid I know how he is feeling, he understands both cultures equally and seems to identify more with the betazoid one in this matter. I must say I was surprised when he said he did want the prostetic arm. Hopefully I can calm him down enough and make him understand that as a romulan officer he falls under their law. Both Cultures have highly regarded honor systems that we do not break ever. Perhaps he can see how they are similar, and take part in this. Maybe then the captain will see why he wants a replacement arm.

I'm still in a waiting game for the new officers to come for their physicals. If they dont show soon I will be tracking them down and talking to the captain about pulling them from duty if they dont come in.
I spent todays shift releasing patients, Rhian left a while ago, and I heard that the specialist from Romulas has arrived, I hope they can help him out. I was wary of releasing Rhian, but he really didnt give me any choice, he intends to get a new arm, but did not set a date for the surgary, which makes me wonder. Perhaps he just needs more time to recooperate.
After making sure our own were taken care of i went down to the brig to look after our prisoners. They are in general good health and just needed their wounds treated and get pain killers. I must say they behaved them selves quite well for being prisoners, perhaps they realize that being prisoners of the federation is better then being prisoners of the romulans or so I hear.

I have finally recieved a new AMO, and not from starfleet but from Romulas. I look forward to getting to know my AMO better as today was a very busy day.
An interviewer from Romulas came aboard to interview crew members on the situation with Rhian. I gave him all the information i knew, I hope I was able to be of some help to him in his investigation. I learned later that Rhian has left the New York to retire on Romulas, I hope he finds a new and happy life there. I will try to stay in contact with him.
I also finally finished Mark's Physical, he was in perfect health as always, but was I found taking stimulants again to stay awake. After a lengthy discussion, in which I think he realized how worried I was about him he gave me the pills. I know he was just trying to do his best by me and the New York. I can sense in him a slight change back to his old self before his last secret mission. Something must have happend then to change him somehow back to the silent man I first met before he opened up to others. I hope he can open back up to the rest of our friends; Yhea and Zandile. ::She sighs::
Zandile is another problem...she has been emotionally unstable as of late. I will be stopping by her quarters to speak with her in private. I think she would find that setting better in speaking with me.
The captain expects miracles out of me in changing them both. Hopefully I can pull off a miracle with Zandile, I thought i had been doing the right thing by staying to the side since we are so close, but now i think i was in the wrong by not being her doctor. I will try and stay the course in the future when it comes to situations like these. Once I have spoken with Zandile, I have a report to turn into the captain on both Zandile's and Mark's behaviors and what has been going on. Hopefully I can get the answers she needs and wants.

We have arrived on romulas for a brief shore leave before begining our next mission. i dont know what the next mission is, or what is involved or even if medical will need to be prepared, but then again I am always prepared. Hopefully this mission will give me and my new amo a chance to bond and work together. For now the shore leave brings much needed time to spend alone with Mark.

I returned back from Romulas. It was a great trip, nice and relaxing, and I was able to get a beautiful romulan baby blanket. I go back on duty tomorrow, a short vacation, but it was well needed.

I returned to sickbay and after reviewing the past days logs of the other docotors I was able to start rounds. My AMO is working out very well so far, she seems very adapt to new situations and dealing with paitents. I recieved a message a short time ago from the XO that we will be recieving critical injuries, I dont know where from or what species they are but I'm sure that we can handle what ever they throw at us.

With the away team on the surface I was prepared for incoming injured. We only had two majorly injured paitents come up. One with lung damage as well as bumps and bruises. The other had major burns to his upper body. He will recover fully, but it will take some time and biomedic gel to help with the pain. I'm happy with that at least that we didnt have any injuries. I expect the away team to be coming back up soon with more less injured people, and so they themselves can be checked out as well. I will prepare my staff for such an occasion.
I have heard reports from the surface that my AMO did a fine job on her first away mission. I look forward to reading her report.

I am hearing reports of mass civilian injuries and casualties down on the planet, and I am only getting the worst of them. Most of the injured are children, ive only had a few adults. The Adults that were left alive were workers in the zoo facility that had been in the buildings and not seen during the attack. I can't imagine what type of people could do this.
As with all betazed mothers to be in their later months of pregnancy my empathic and telepatic abilites have been hightend. I could sense the captain earlier extremly angry, and I could sense Mark and his frustration, I know he feels like hes doing nothing out there, but the captain must have a reason to want him in his fighter during all of this.
I continue to treat the injured, im just thankful i havent lost anyone. I have asked to have one of the counselors down here at all times for when the children wake up. they have been through alot in the past few hours. I will be here when I can, since i have treated most of them and they seem to trust me. There is one little boy in particular who I treated for a concussion, his eyes when he looked at me reminded me of my own cousin when he was small. I hope the boys family was not killed, if they were I will make it my personal mission to find him a good home. No matter where it is.

Treatment continues for the survivors. Weve only lost one paitent thankfully. I was afraid we'd loose more, but now the hard work begins in treating the children emotionally.
My AMO returned to do an autopsy on a Reman. She helped me understand more about their physiology, and theyre ability to wish themselves to death.
The rest of my shift was spent playing with the little romulan boy I've formed a bond with. My standing orders for all medical personal on duty is that unless someone comes in for care they are to spend their time taking care of the children and spending time with them. Hopefully in a few days we can release them. And the hard work of locating their families will begin. I will look into getting quarters for them while we are in route to romulus or wherever their homes are.
The night shift will take care of maitnence and inventory today.

After finishing the dna tests of the children and catagorizing i inputed the info into the comuter for our records on them, as well as sent the info up to the captain so she could contact the romulan government with their identities. They are doing so well, I could never imagine that they would bounce back the way they have. The children have made sickbay a much happier place. People are actually stopping in of their own free will.
Later in the shift I then had my amo do a prenatal exam for the children so they could see a 3D picture of an unborn baby. I think they thouroghly enjoyed the experience. I will be sad to see them leave here, but I know they will be happy with their families when we find them.
