We returned to the command center and watched as the remaining stash was treated. While there I checked everyone for medical problems after being in a fire fight but was unable to complete my checks, as we were called into battle again.
I paired off with the counselor as we went to stop people from rescuing the traitor Ri'Pak. We both as medical officers have been having trouble with this mission where it its required of us to kill people. I just reminded him to remember that sometimes Starfleet requires us to do things we dont want too. With assistance from the New York orbiting the planet we were able to successfully defeat them and returned to the command center.
I finished treating the people we had rescued from Ri' Pak and then returned to the New York. I hope they will be alright now. I trust that the Romulan medical staff which is very good at their job will care for them from now on. I have scheduled appointments for all of the away team to come to sickbay to make sure they didn't have any injuries that they sustained in either battle. I know the crew can be quite stubborn when it comes to coming to sickbay.
I have also recently heard from my parents....my mother is threatening a visit to the New York the next time we are in federation space and near betazed. Hopefully they wont be too bad if they do come.
::smiles:: Also upon returning to the New York I was surprised with a promotion to full Lieutenant. I just hope I can live up to it.

After finishing inventory of sickbay I returned to Romulas with several other crew members who were asked to testify in Ri'Pak's trial. Im not sure what help I can be for sure to this Trial but I will do my best. After watching Candela give her testimony I can tell that this whole situation has hit her hard. I hope to get the chance to talk with her soon after the trial is over to make sure she is doing ok. Shes had a tough year.

I was asked to the stand today at the trial of Ripak, and got an inside look at romulan justice and law. Mainly I was just asked what condition the slave girls and the teenagers were found in. I told them about the report I had filed on them and the recomandations i had made to the romulan medical facility. The Prosucuter was very friendly, but the Defender was much more forceful and even went so far to say that I was being prejudice which was a proposterous idea to me.
After I took the stand our counselor took the stand and had even more trouble then i did with the defendents counsul. I must say it was a very interesting look at the Romulan Justice system, we all learned a lot. It seems all the counsul was looking at was whether the death should be slow and painful or short and quick. The counsul decided on the first option of a slow and painful death, and while he probably deserves it for all hes done, I still feel like no one deserves to die for any crime. However close the federation has come to a friendship with the Romulans, this may be one factor that might come between that from happening.
Now that the trial is over I hope to explore Romulas more, I hear from the captain there are some very good dance clubs here. I will have to drag Zandile along with me and any one who i can to join. I especially want to hit the art and history museums, those are very dear to my own culture, it should be interesting to view the Romulans art.

::Anarra smiles as she enters her quarters after returning from Romulas. She slips out of her shoes and leaves them lying on the floor as she plops on her couch and starts her log.::
The Trial is now over, and we were allowed to have shore leave on the planet, it was a great oppertunity for us all to see and experience the planet in a freindly setting. I left sickbay in the hands of my new Assisstant, and I hope to get to know him more soon.
Zandile and myself went to a club that i had heard was very popular among young romulans. While the fast dance music was very fun and exciting, I think i prefered the slower music. I will have to remember to ask the captain what the song was and see if I can get a collection of these slower more earthy songs. The experience on the planet was very interesting, and i think in time if more people had experiences like i did that they too would come to enjoy the planet.
Tomorrow I plan to use the rest of my leave to visit some of the cultural museums. I want to try and see if I can convince one of the romulan officers on the New York to join me so they can explain the art work to me from a romulan point of view. I doubt I could get zandile come along, shes not one for museums. I think its being a Betazoid that makes me so much more interested in all types and forms of culture.

I finished up my shore leave by touring one of the planets most renound art museums. I must say what I saw of Romulan Art was most exquisite. I hope to visit again to be able to view it all since I had to leave since I was short on time. After returning to the ship I reported to the bridge to report in that I was back from the planet. I then went back down to sickbay to check on things and to formally meet with my new AMO for the first time. He seems like a very capable officer and I look forward to getting to know him more.
I have recieved a message from Mark, he said his current mission is wrapping up and he hopes to come back to the New York but nothing is for certain yet. I hope he comes back, I miss him so much.

Today was fairly quite, it gave me a chance to catch up on some work that I had left behind for awhile as well as catch up on some medical journals that I have had on my desk for quite a while. It was nice to have a quiter day for once.
On a personal note, Mark returend to the New York today, Im so happy that hes back. He surprised me by not telling me that he was coming. It should be good to have him back now and we can start preparing for this baby together.

A reletavily quiet day in sickbay, I was able to get work done on my Romulan physiology projects and trying to be able to replicate romulan medications better. I feel I am close to coming up with the answer, but until then I will have to rely on the supplies that I have. My new AMO is working out wonderfully. I plan to put him on most if not all away missions. Especially those that might be on the battle field. I know I might not be able to avoid it all, and I do want to be able to get out of sickbay sometimes....::she pauses::
Ive become very scared of stressful situations especially those that might harm the baby, I supose it is my maternal insticts kicking in, but I need to keep reminding myself that I am a Starfleet Officer and the head of a department. I need to be the responsible one.
::she pauses again.:: I should probably talk to the counselor about all of this, but there is always too much to do in sickbay and never enough time in the day.

I left sickbay in the capable hands of my AMO after finisning up with what was needed to be done in there immediatly I went down to the Arguthan Outpost with the rest of the away team to help perform the 5 year systems and medical check of all personel. I will set up in their medical facilities on the outpost and first make sure all equipment is working and that they have all the suplies they need for another five years. I will then begin the medical checks of all personell, either having them come to the medical facility first and then if I must hunting them all down. My experience with Romulans is such that they do not like medical facilities. I'm glad at least they saw fit to give themselves a medical facility on the outpost.

With my AMO and several medical teams on the surface we successfully finished our inventory, medical checks of personel and diognostics of medical equipment. All medical equipment is in good working order, and the medical checks ran wonderfully. They are in need of a few medical supplies and medicinces, but those we can provide to them. I have sent the list to the Captain for approval to send down the medical supplies.
I still have no idea where Yhea's headche came from, I guess we will just have to say it was a stress headache. But I will keep an eye out for any changes in his health status.
On a personal note, my mother is now threatening to hi jak a shuttle and fly to romulan space herself to see me. I wonder if we can get a temporary cloak so she cant find us.

A relativly quiet day in sickbay, the AMO and I were able to get things situated and finished up from the last shift. He is doing excelent work in my opinion with the paper work, which is not my favorite part of the job. The Captain then came down later with a very dangerous cut in her hand. It had something to do with making a mess and then picking it up and getting injured. Sometimes a bit of the romulan misconseptions still shine through when I am with Yhea or the Riov.
After the captain left it was announced that we would all get shore leave on romulas. Since I had just been there a few weeks ago and I didnt really want to return to my quarters I finished up work in Sickbay letting my AMO take the rest of the Day off. After finishing up I went to Ten forward to enjoy the view and read from the latest novel that Yhea had suggested to me.

With the rest of the medical staff on shore leave I was able to finish up some work that needed to be done. I had let some of it slide in the past week because of my research on romulan medications. After finishing up I went to Ten Forward to relax and read the newest book that Yhea had given me. Having just been on Romulas I had no desire to go again, besides Mark was working and Zandile had already left. I enjoyed the quietness of Ten Forward.

After finishing up my own leave in ten forward I left to resume duty in sickbay. My AMO Ensign McFadden has now left for the Vindicator in a shuttle. I wish him luck in his new endeavors on that ship. I just hope Starfleet would find me an AMO who will stay longer. Especially If sickbay becomes a hectic mess again, which thankfully right now it is not.
I was able to complete my rounds and check on any paitents in sickbay. There were only two, one who had a bad case of the romulan flu from their last visit to romulas. And the other who had gone on the holodek during leave and broken a leg. It is good to know that crewmembers realize that even though its shore leave, they don't need to put their lives in danger by doing anything reckless. After attending to them I returned to my office to catch up on work.

After the brief shore leave on romulas that gave us all a time to rest up and prepare for our next mission we are now on our way. Everything is back in order in sickbay after the small explosion from the science lab everything has been fixed. However I am now down an AMO again, I can never seem to keep them a long time.
I look forward to this next mission whatever it is, it should be an interesting one.

It has recently come to my attention that the New York is now one year old. It seems odd that weve been here so long, but time does seem to fly by at times. And with the Birthday of the New York something else has come to my attention, the fact that many of our senior officers have not had a physical in a year. This is something that is regulated by starfleet medical, and while i know everyone hates it, i will drag them in here if I must. The following is the list of officers who need to have their physicals done within the next few weeks if possible. I will also send this report to the captain so that she is informed at what is going on, hopefully she will not allow these officers to resume duty till after they have their physical.
Captain Eviess Radaik Lt Samatha Jarus Lt jg Zandile Rey-Baccus 2nd Lt Justin Kinsely Ensign Jane Vadaldie Counselor Aturus Grox
All the rest of the officers have come on board with in the last year and do not need a crew physical.
The science labs are running at 100% efficiency now and sickbay is almost empty ready for its next excursion. I expect Ensign Edin of science to have her baby with in the next week. After that, I will be next I believe. I really do need to find an AMO soon to handle all the work load if I am to have any time alone with the baby at all. I will be putting in a request to Starfleet to send a new AMO soon.

During today's shift I was able to begin the Senior officer medical checks, I was able to complete the Engineering Staffs today and hope to finish with the rest on my next shift. 2nd Lt Justin Kinsely's medical check came out picture perfect like always. Ensign Jane Vadaldie's medical check however came up a bit odd when she said a few weeks ago she had been feeling quite ill before it all went away. I did a deep scan and found that she had had a bout of the 24 hour Romulan Cold. And while she is no longer contagious, the romulan cold can be quite deadly to some species that we have on the ship and that we could have encountered. I told her that next time she becomes ill she must come to sickbay and see me. I can not have officers becoming sick and not coming in for treatment. Hopefully she listend to me, while things like the common cold exist in every species, and are usually not deadly to the species they originate to, they can sometimes be deadly to others.
The following is the list of officers that I need to get to next to do medical checks on. I hope that they go as well as the ones today.
Captain Eviess Radaik Lt Samatha Jarus Lt jg Zandile Rey-Baccus Lt. Mark Danrea
