Because of an emergency surgary that I had to perform I was unable to attend the holiday party that was held on the New York. This was very dissapointing since during my time on earth I found this terran holiday to be my favorite, it always seems to bring the best out of people. The surgary was very successful, the surgary was to help a lt. named John Dunning who is in engineering he has been having lung failure for un known reasons but I am proud to report he is well again and with some bed rest will be able to return to work.
In other news I kept hearing rumors about my friend Zandile and I finally confronted her the other day. I am so happy to say that she is engaged to our Cheif of Security Tyler Baccus, they have been dating for quite a while now and seem to me like they know how to have fun together I wish them well in their relationship.
While talking with Zandile about her upcoming wedding Mark came in the the room and all of a sudden proposed out of no where which surprised me so much I was speechless.::smiles as she remembers the event.:: And that doesnt happen to me alot, I didnt expect him to propose, and thats saying something taking in the fact that I'm a betazoid. He has changed so much from the man i first met he used to be so seperated from the rest of the world and know he is opening up to people. We have spent so many hours talking and just spending time together. I of course said Yes::looks at her ring:: The only down side to this is that I have to tell my parents...::sighs:: that is something that I am not looking forward to. The last time I talked to them when I was posted to the New York didn't go so well, ::grimices remembering:: I will have to talk with them though, they will of course want a traditional betazoid wedding but I'm not so sure I want that after all Mark is a human and he might not want that type of a wedding I would be perfectly happy with a human wedding...for now I am going to go see Mark and hold off telling my parents.::smiles::

Most of todays shift was spent in my office working on my part of the report which I think is my most thourogh to date. I have just returned from handing it in to the captain, I hope she is pleased with it. We have many new additions as well and I had to do a physical on the new XO. He seems very friendly and very experienced, I believe the captain had made a wise decision in her next XO.
In more personal news I finally contacted my parents, they were thouroghly surprised at me contacting them so suddenly. Of course the first thing they asked was When are you coming home. ::rolls her eyes:: Next predictably was my mother telling me that I should get married soon and that she had several nice betazoid males lined up who were interested in marrying me. Then I broke the news to her that I was already engaged. They were both surprised and immediatly asked if he was a betazoid or at least a vulcan. I told them that he was a human his name was Mark Micheal and he was the New Yorks Fighter Pilot. I believe they sat stunned for at least a minute.
Afterwards they immediatly said that the wedding would be on betazoid and we would follow all of the customs. They are very predictable. They are now writing to me every day on plans, i keep telling them I'm planning it or trying to plan it at least. Hopefully i can get some help from everyone who is currently getting married. ::laughs:: it seems like an epidemic. I will deffinitly be getting help from Zandile shes met my parents and knows how they are. I know they want the best for me but why cant they be happy with the life Ive chosen.

Today was certainly interesting, we had a meeting of the senior staff in the captains office going over all of our reports and trying to fit the peices together. Since most of the problem we were having was how they got onto and off of it in the first place I wasnt really involved since everyone agreed that my report had been thurogh and whe already knew who the killer was...or at least i thought so till our new first officer started to bring some new ideas to the table. He surmised that it was possible that the murder could have been an android that was made to look like a lyran and act like one. Which seems totally perposterious to me...all evidence i collected pointed to a living beathing lyran killer, not an android. The crime scene would have looked alot different if it had been and the there would not have been DNA on the victims.
Although he did suggest another possibility, that a lyran was being controlled by an implant to do the murders. This could be a possiblity however highly unlikly i think it is. The only way i could ever find this out is if i had actually scanned the suspect, other wise there is no way to tell from just the evidence we have on hand.
The captain also asked me to look into whether the lyrans could have a database of every citizins DNA, Hair or even claw marks, just like klingons are identified by their head ridges and humans by their finger prints. I did find evidence of one, however it isnt very big since it is a federation database of the lyrans we have on record. I looked up our murderer and couldnt find a match, however i still hope to find the identity. If there is a small record on earth of lyrans then there must be a larger one on their home planet itself, however it locked me out. Perhaps i could see if Lt. Baccus knows how to hack into such databases, too bad he isnt a ferengi they always seem to get into where they arnt suppossed to. ::Anarra smiles thinking if Tyler ever heard this he would probably either laugh or try to hit her.:: I will contact him later on this possibility.
In wedding news I have decided to have the wedding sometime in Febuary, with some type of mixture between a human wedding and a Betazoid wedding. I know mark doesnt like being human all the time but since he is one we should have some of his heritage in our wedding.

During the begining of my shift after i had finished all my reports and had them sent up to the captain i found that i was feeling very odd. After doing a self medical exam i found that I am suffering from exhastion. Mark has been telling me to slow down and relax and now Ill have to listen to him after my diagnosis. I spent the rest of the shift sleeping in sickbay and only awakend when a nurse came in saying I was needed. After finishing the shift I gave my self a few days off and left my AMO in charge with specific instructions to not contact me unless it was a dire emergency. Thankfully they have taken it to heart and I feel I am up to returning to duty. I got the rest I needed and only worked on wedding plans but didnt stress myself out too much. ::smiles:: It also got me time to spend with Mark whose back rubs are very helpful.

At the begining of shift today Erein Dhivael was brought into sickbay today with a mysterious illness i did some scans and found that she had an illness that only Romulans can get. Unfortanatly we dont have the medication for the illness i thought it best that we get her to a proper facility where she could be treated, perferably a romulan one. Luckily perhaps we were headed to Romulan Space any way, for what reason I dont know for sure. With two other romulans on board it was best that we got her to a facility where she could be properly treated. Once we arrived in Romulan space we were able to safely transport Erien over to a Romulan ship that was able to care for her better. My guess is that Starfleet wants to get better relations with the romulan empire. There are days like this when I am in sickbay that i wish I had gone on the command track, at least then I would know what is going on with the rest of the ship.
On another note I have decided while in Romulan space to see if I can contact the Romulan goverment to see if we can get some stock on Romulan medications. With three Romulans on board its better safe then sorry to be prepared, hopefully they will see that as well.
I also learned that we now have a new CNS a Vulcan/Betazoid male named J'den, this is a most interesting combination and I'm sure will be an interesting addition to our crew. I will be sure to contact him soon to get to know him and see how I can help. I must say it will be nice to have another betazoid on board even if he is also half vulcan, but then again my friend Zandile is half vulcan. I find their logic very appealing and their culture is a most interesting one.::pauses getting back on track:: It will be interesting to see how the two of us will work together, it is my strong belief that Doctors and Counselors should work together.
I have finally set a wedding date that I was able to agree on with Mark and my parents. It will be Saturday Febuary 11th at 8pm central earth time on Betazoid. I will be sending out invitations to all of my friends in the fleet soon.

First order of buisness today was Lt. Cody's prenatal appointment. Both she and her husband are humans so there shouldnt be any oddities that a I'm worried about that will pop up, but she has been feeling sicker lately so i checked on her. After finding she was fine i advised her to come back if she felt any worse.
We then learned that the medical supplies and information would be sent over soon. I was waiting in sickbay for them when i got called by the captain needing medical assisstance on a romulan base. I left my AMO in charge so that they could get the supplies inventoried and put away. I later heard on the away mission from my AMO that the supplies had been sent to sickbay.
Upon arriving at the station i found two injured romulans, one of which in critical condition from burns and some damage to the organs. I will attempt to stabalize him here and heal the burn wounds. Later he should be transported to the New York so the organ dammage can be treated and so he can get medication. The other Romulan I'm afraid won't want to be treated since they already objected to it...however I'm afraid that head wound will be something more then it looks like. For now i need to go back to treating the first romulan.::

Today was one of the my more stressful days, after treating the more wounded Romulan, I was very worried about his condition and knew I couldn't treat him on the station so I decided to bring him up to the New York to be treated by a medication that I now have on file thanks to the Romulan goverment. Col. Stevenson also came down to try and convince the more stubborn Romulan to come up to the New York to be treated, I could have treated him on the station, but perhaps it was best that we had brought him up. He told me he wanted to speak to the captain and as soon as I finish treating both him and the other one I will.

I was finally able to fully treat the 2nd romulan. but only after I called the captain down to sickbay. He insisted on it....and I just didnt see any other way to communicate with him...especailly after he started to speak romulan and our translaters werent translating.
I was also given security in sickbay just in case our visitors decided to try something...I didnt think they would...but It was nice to have the extra measure.
Once the Captain talked to the romulans I was finally able to treat him even though he kept saying he was fine. They were treated and released and I allowed them to transport back to the station.
In other news Mark and I were married in a ceremony on Betazed. I'm just glad we were able to get away from the mission so we could be married. The ceremony was beautiful, and my mother behaved her self thankfully. I am the happiest I have ever been.

Things were rather quiet in sickbay and after having such a stressful week I started to mediate a little and keep my mind open. I found through mediation I could keep a better hold on all of the feelings around me of everyone on the New York. However I was so in tune to the ship that i neglected the outside of it.
I was almost late for the away mission I am currently on, a Romulan freighter I believe, I am currently looking for bio signs. I do not expect any problems on this mission, it seems rather normal with myself, the chief engineer Kinsley and Lt. Baccus our Security officer. Hopefully the mission will run smoothly.

After transporting over to the freighter i began to search for injured. I was able to find 6 life signs in good condition. None of them were badly injured it was just a matter of finding them. While I had just found my first paitent and was getting help from Lt. Baccus we got a message that we were being transported out immediatly. A few seconds lanter and the ship blew up. Apparently they found a canister marked liquid oxygen. Thankfully all of the injured were also beamed aboard and I was able to treat them all successfuly. I have informed the captain that they are ready to go to be released when ever is the most convienant time. However i think some things are going on with this mission that i dont even know about.

The first order of buisness was to make sure everyone that had been on the away team including myself was clear for duty, especially since we had to be transported so quickly. I first checked the Cheif of Security Lt. Tyler Baccus, because I know he can be rather cranky when he isnt seen right away by a doctor. Why is it that it seems everyone hates doctors right now. I then moved on to the rest of the away team including my self, all of which were cleared for duty. After wards Tyler came back and appoligized for what he had said to me during his medical check, which honestly made me feel better, sometimes he can really get on my nerves...but then again I guess I get on his nerves alot too. Its a simple fact, he doesnt like doctors, and i dont like security in sickbay except in extreme circumstances.
I then went on to treat the romulan passangers from the freighter that we rescued. The four of them were in good condition and i have contacted the captain about getting them temporary quarters till we can have them transported back to a romulan base or vessel.
Next on my long list of things to do is to re arrange the crew roster in sickbay, one of my main doctors decided they were more interested in the science field then in the medical field, and several weeks ago before we entered romulan space two of my nurses and one of my doctors were transfered to other vessels. I wonder if I can perhaps get a temporary replacement doctor from Romulas, I know Ive been short handed lately, and my AMO seems to have disapeared.

I informed sickbay that I wasnt feeling well before my shift and came in late, I'm not sure whats the matter yet, But i think it has something to do with the fact taht Mark isnt here any more. Mark has been reasigned to another ship that needed him more then the New York again, and while I know this is all apart of what it means to be a Starfleet officer, I miss him. I just hope he does well on his new mission.
I didn't get to rest well so I came into sickbay a little late and was informed that we were taking on romulan casualites. I've gotten quite used to treating romulans lately, but i have a feeling after hearing the captains tone of voice that these romulans are a bit different, or at least some of them are. She used the word traitor. So we will have to see what happens, I will treat everyone who is injured no matter what the captain says or anyone else says. Its the duty of the doctor to treat everyone.
Sickbay is ready, as is my staff and myself, now we just wait for the injured to be beamed aboard to sickbay. Sometimes the wait is more frustrating then the actual storm that can sometimes enter sickbay in a crisis. One thing is for sure...I hate waiting, Id rather get the paitent treated.

It is yet again after a battle and sickbay is started to become less full. Thankfully we only had 3 criticals from a plasma fire, they will have to stay in sickbay for a few days, but after that they should be released. The rest of the injured were all minor and could be treated right away, but they all seemed to come in at the same time.
My staff worked wonders today putting in such a good job under stress and pressure, especially when I was feeling ill I've been feeling Ill for more then a week now. At first I thought it was lonliness over Mark leaving the New York and being transferred. Now I know its something different. I'm Pregnant. I was quite shocked when I found out I didnt think it would happen so soon, and now that I'm alone on the New York I'm not sure how everything will turn out. Ive sent a subspace message to Mark telling him the news, it might take a few days for him to answer however.

After finishing the treatment of the last paitents in sickbay and restocking everthing i went down to meet the prizoner and do medical scans on him. He turned out in good condition like i suspected but hes still being stubborn and not talking. I hope like Tyler said that he talks to the Talshiar.
On a more personal note I have gotten a response from Mark, he was very happy to hear the news, he just wishes he could be here. He hopes he could be here later in my pregnancy especially. He also advised me to rely on friends for help. Which I was already planning on. Zandile and I have a lot of shopping to do. ::She smiles::

Today was a most interesting and differnt day from others I have had. I was asked to accompony an away team on a search for a romulan traitor. I was on the team with Tyler Baccus and Justin Kinsley. During our search we didnt find much more then animals native to the planet. Near the end of our search we did however find three romulan girls who were slaves. After finding them we came under a brief fire fight from people on the Romulan Traitor Ri'Pak's side. With an assist from the romulan guard that was near by we were able to get rid of their threat.
The girls were in fairly good condition considering everything they have been through. They were dehydrated and were malnourished so after treating them and giving them food packs we started on our way back to base. It was quite an interesting day Id say and it felt good to be in the real out doors and not just on some holodek.
