He heard as the doctor responded to the list of multiple meds and ailments he had informed him of, his expression sobering. He again gave the doctor an odd look when he mentioned he would give him Paxil until he grew tolerant of it and then switch to Effexor
Wouldn't be easier to just start me on Effexor, Doc? Instead of switching a med when I get used to taking it? Frankly, I dont think the Paxil works too good since I still depressed from time to time" He pauses and then goes another direction "Actually, if at all possible, I dont really want to be taking any meds. I hate it. I keep hearing there is now a cure for diabetes and most other diseases. Also the fact I can get my eyes and ears fixed so i dont have to where these and these" points to the wire frame glasses he wears and the battery operated hearing aids that are in his ears "Changing the batteries every week can get annoying, especially if you're doing something smirks then sobers again "and for some reason, I dont think they make the kind of batteries i need here in the 24th century
He then heard the doctor ask if there was a way to get his medical records from where he came from. He just looked at the doctor with his own "Are you kidding" look then laughed in humor
"Not unless you can hop in a time machine and travel back in time about 380 years to the year 2008. I think that would be extremely hard to do, even for you people here in the 24th century" He chuckled again, thinking the idea was funny

nods slowly "I can definently do something about your eyes and it's really simple... Exactly whats wrong with your ears? As for the cure for diseases, I'd have to look into it... Just because this is the 24th century it doesn't quite mean we're like Jesus and we can heal a person by touching them and then walk on water.... I first have to make sure that your body wont reject the treatment which requires testing, just a blood sample would fulfil that obligation, which I need anyways to imput your DNA structure into the computer." he paused and thought for a momant "for now, until you recieve treatment for your eyes, ears, n' what not... while taking your medication you should be cleared for duty" He reached into his drawer and grabbed a trial version for a weeks worth of effexor "as for the effexor; here's what we do, stop taking Paxil, and take these. If theres improvement with you depression, then we'll keep you on the effexor... If you feel depressed immediantly stop taking and report to sickbay, got it?" he held the sample pack out to him

Without thinking, he reaches up and adjusts his glasses over his eyes as he heard what the doctor had to say
My ears? Well, i'm not really sure. just that i've never really been able to hear that good. I always thought I had some inner ear immalance or something but that's not it. I also stumble from time to time. I can just be standing still and oops, I act like i trip on or over something. that's what lead to the inner ear imbalance theory but then i got a hearing test done and found out my hearing isn't so good, so I got artificial ears
A blood sample, I can give no problem. That's pretty much par for the course when you're diabetic, always giving blood. Sometimes I think doctors are part vampires cause i give them so much blood" He chuckles at his own humor
He nods and listens some more at what the doctor says: if he feels depressed even while on Effexor, stop taking it and come to sickbay. He gave the doctor a humours look "I kinda have to stop taking Paxil, cause I didnt bring any with me when I came here" he chuckled and took the sample of Effexor "Anything else?"

Laughs, actually found humor in his statement about vampires "I'm a doctor and sometimes I wonder myself... Yeah, just one more thing before you leave sickbay today make sure you see my nurse to get a hearing examination, and a blood sample... We dont need that much, maybe a drop of blood or two... Literally" Starts filling out an request form on a PADD then hads it to Aiden "just hand him this and he'll know what to do... Pending the hear examination I think I can do something about your hearing/balance issue, I just need you examined to confirm what I think it might be"

He smiled a bit thinking about seeing one of the nurses. He thought maybe he can admire her as she poked and prodded him to get some blood and other lab work done for the doctor. He arched a brow slightly as the doctor said he needed only a drop or two
"That's all? that's better then getting a couple vials full and them poking and prodding my arm to try and find a vein. That hurt when you stick a needle in there. Do you still do that now?" he asks curiously before taking the request form PADD
I hope so he says as the doctor says he might know what' causing his clumsiness "it would be nice to stop falling over my own feet" smirks and chuckles

"we can stick you with a needle if you'd prefer, however, the prefered method now is we just poke you with a small little device that rapidly pokes a hole just large enough to get a drop or two of blood... You seriously wont even notice your being poked" smiles slightly "as for the hearing test all its going to do is tell me if theres a problem with the ear drum or if its inner ear... If its the ear drum all I have to do is replace your ear drum with a membrane and y0ur good to go... If its inner ear it's surgical, but its an outpatiant surgury so its relatively a minor surgury"
The male nurse was looking at Aiden as if he already knew what needed to be done.

He listened to what the doctor had to say, glancing over to see the male nurse that stood nearby waiting on him. He felt a little disappointed that it couldn't be a female nurse to help him but then he isnt here to ogle the nurses
He turned slightly and offered the PADD the doctor gave him to the male nurse and turned back to the doctor with a smirk and a shake of his head
"No, no. that's ok. As much as I love being jabbed with a needle" sarcasm quite evident in his tone "I am used to being poked to take only a drop or two since I do that every morning to take my blood sugar"
He listened as the doctor explained with the ears, wether he could replace the ear drum or do a little outpatient surgery, something he's been through before. he nods
"Either way works for me, doc." He then turned back to the male nurse "I'm ready when you are"

**Male Nurse**
He holds out his hand taking the PADD, the rank on his collar said "Sgt" but regardless, he already knew anyone who made his life hell he'd bring down the doctors hammer. He reads the PADD over analyzing what the doctor needed done and nods slowly. "Okay first, I'm Sgt. Irvin. I'm going to be examining your ears" he paused for a momant and looked back at the PADD "taking a blood sample, looking at your eyes just to see if you can recieve medical treatment for that as well... So go ahead take a seat" He pointed the the chair next to him "and I'll get this over with faster then you know"

He just nods as the nurse, who introduced himself as Sargeant Irwin, as he explained he was gonna take a blood sample as well as take a look at his eyes and ears
"So go ahead, take a seat, and I'll get this over with faster then you know" he stated
"Ok, sarge" he'd respond back and move over to the chair he had pointed to. He smirked to himself thinking ~ that's what all say ~. Say they'll be quick and he's there an hour later
As he sat down, he took off his glasses and took out his hearing aids and placed them on the small table next to the chair

**Nurse**
He stepped to Aiden with his medical tricorder as he took scans of Aidens ears and eyes these scans where in depth, then he took a "picture" of how it would actually look like if someone were to look at it. He took the tricorder and placed it on the computer to be analyzed then the doctor could review the findings. He then took a capsule placed it on Aidens finger and and pressed a button to take a blood sample then removed it almost immediantly "see, told you it'd be done quickly"
**please make note of the email i sent you i need you to tell me what the results are because after all it IS YOUR char**

He watched as the nurse ran what he called a tricorder over him to check his ears and eyes. When he set it down, Aidan blinked at him, then looked to the tricorder then back to the nurse "That's it"? He asked, surprised that it took so little time. He was half expecting a light to be shoved in his ear to look around and then a light shoved in his eyes and perhaps had some drops to be inserted in his eyes to have them dilated, as much as he hated it. The nurse just nodded to him, confirming that was it then reached for a finger poker. He felt the sample being taken but he never flinched. He then heard the nurse as he said "See, I told you it would be done quick"
He nodded, adding a smirk and a chuckle "That cha did, lad. I am impressed" He said in a little bit of an Irish tone in his voice. He let some of his Irish heritage through although he knew nothing of his Irish heritage, except for the fact that he was told some of his ancestors came from Ireland. He had other nationalities too in his blood and he was sure the doctor would pick that up whenever he decided to
Medical Tricorder Analysis: Scans would show that the eardrum is enlarged, thus not enabling the eardrum to vibrate as it should and it would also show the hairs near the cochlea are laying flat against the wall of the ear
( If there can be an "and". If not, we can just go with the enlarged eardrum )

**Nurse** (thats fine, but the microscopic hairs are actually inside the cochlea)
The nurse transfers the findings to a PADD "the doctor will be with you shortly to discuss a possible treatment plan" he reviews the PADD "which should be no problem for him to treat, just wait right here" he leaves the exam room and hads the PADD to the doctor

He just nods at the nurse as he said that treatment wont be a problem for the doctor and to stay put and the doctor will be right in
Just as he stepped out, he takes out a PADD from his pocket and starts reading to pass the time before the doctor returns

Robert stepped into the exam room where Aiden was with a model of a ear and another of an eye. "hey, Aiden. I wanted to discuss with you the treatment plan to get you back to tip-top shape" he sat the items down then picked up the model of the ear "this is obviously a model of what it looks like in the ear canel, inner ear, middle ear, ect. One of the problems on why you cannot hear very well and why your balance is off is because of, this little tissue right here" he pointed to the ear drum. "The issue with this peice of tissue called the ear drum is that the membrane is too thick to vibrate correctly... So what I would like to do; is to put you to sleep, take a Very small scalpel which we call a laser scalpel and remove the ear drum thats too thick then replace it with a new peice of membrane that is artifically created in the med labs thats actually in the room next door... Then when the membrane is where your ear drum was, I'll take another tool to attach the membrane to the ear canel and to the tiny bones that are in your ear" While he was explaining the procedure he used a pen to point out how the scalpel would be used and the other tool to reattach "now, the other part thats causes balance and hearing issues is this part called the cochlea... Kind of looks like a snail shell; this one is alittle more tricky as is more of a surgical procedure, if you consent to this surgury, of course you'll be asleep. I have to go in through the mouth, cut from the mouth to the cochlea, from there I remove the cochlea and replace it with one thats again, artifically created in the lab... Reattach, then clean out as I use a dermal regenerator to seal it back up... I have to clean it as a finish cause the mouth is FULL of bacteria which can cause an infection" He sat the model down "so how does that plan sound to you? Does is sound like something you'd like to do?"
"as for your eyes; very.very easy. Infact they used to use this treatment in the late 20th century. Though during that time it was more... Guessing then an exact science, and lets just say in what? 400 years? We've gotten a lot better at it, basically we just take a laser beam thats highly intensified and we use it to correct your vision, takes about an hour or so, then a few hours to recover."
