She listened as Skye posed her question and the male Exec answered it. She began to take notes, glancing over to Hunter to see what he may be doing
"Excellent question Ms Logan. Each site has its own unique set of concerns. Site 1, we observed two predators of real concern --- Its large, reptile like in appearance, amphibious, nocturnal, solitary, and oddly enough once it has its full it doesn't require any food for a week. We don't have any other information on it. The second predator was a large furred animal that hunts in the daytime, preferring the surrounding forest, and the medium to small animals located there. But was observed fishing in the ocean water, on one occasion. We made no observations on marine life."
"Site 2, we observed a huge mammal that hunts daily in packs. It entered the site range when after a animal it was hunting. There was a small animal that will attack if annoyed by anyone of our size. Its bite is deadly. I compare it to a scorpion perhaps. There are is also a verminous snake like creature that appears to be the natural predator of the scorpion like creature. There also was a large canine like creature that hunts in packs during the day."
"Site 3, we observed several mammals that were of concern, one was feline, the other canine like. The canine hunts in packs and has no preference as to hunting times. The feline is a solitary hunter, nocturnal."
"There were also herd animals observed at all the all the sites."
She looked back to her PADD and began thinking about different security measures, depending on what site the others pick

H listened as Skye and Chase talked to the male Exec and then he decided to add his comments
Sounds like sites 1 and 3 post the least danger but they are equally dangerous , Site 2 has the lizards and they're pretty unpredictable" Not to mention, he didn't like lizards all that much

Hitomi listened carefully to the parts about preditory animals. While bites and maulings could be painful and even deadly, it was the poisonous critters that worried her the most. While making an anti-toxin would not be hard, it would still require her to go out and procure a sample.
"Speaking from a purely medical standpoint," She glanced around as she finally voiced an opinion, "Site One has the least amount of things to worry about. Poisonous creatures and animals that hunt in packs are very dangerous and hard to defend againt."

He sat and listened to everyone's thoughts. He wanted to see how they were thinking,
But this was their colony. Their choice and he would abide by their decision and do his job, and whatever was required of him.

He listened to the Doctor and nodded. He agreed with her fully. But knew if there herds there was predators and increased chances of pack hunters, even it they were not observed. To him they were one in same, he had no preference his concern was the communications array, links and grids. Each site would present a its own unique comm pattern.

Brighton walks into the conference room late with a cup of coffee in his hand. He listens to what is going on so he can decide what he needed to ask. "Excuse me," He said suppressing his instinct to salute. "Has anyone actually been to any of these sites before this meeting. I know that I haven't and I think its important. We need to reconoiter, the area for defensibility first then where we can build and how we can build. We need to know the things that are not on a terraforming map before we can make a truly informed decision."

Looking at the major, "Yes we're had several teams at each location. But as far as any colonist, no. Not even the employees who are present. Each site has its own defense problems. There has never been a colony, unless fully planned before the colonist arrived that had a defense plan in place along with structures that's been problem free. This colony hasn't been planned in that respect. And for you Major that does present some unique problems." "Each site can be defended with varying degrees of difficulty. Major we have a small not sure what you call them, team, or squad. They should be passing us on the their way to Thales in a week. If you would like you can accompany them or remain here. And I have a feeling you would want to be with them. You of course will be working with the Governor, and he may have specific ideas and thoughts."

Indeed he would have some specific thoughts and looked forward to showing the Major the Vehicles he had chosen for the start of the Colony.
There were a lot of considerations to be made and a lot of very valid points brought up.

I'll need personnel files for each man on that team. He sat down. You are correct, I would want to inspect each site.. I would aslo invite anyone else who has questions regarding the areas that may not be answered in the data given to join me. I would of course feel the need to command this expedition.

"I'll be going down, maps are OK but always best to see the site the sites, so I can find the best sites to build at in the site" He says as he takes notes

He listened to the Major, nodding as he spoke. "Of course Major, you'll have those personal files. As far as command of the expedition, I agree. As the highest ranking military personnel on the key issue of settlement protection it only makes sense that you go and lead it. Let us know if you need anything else."
"Make sure you see the governor and discuss any last minute objectives or needs you may have."[/b]

Ravin held a finger up and spoke.
"I would be more than happy to accompany the Major on this expedition. As Governor i think it might be best that I go ahead and help in these matters"
He would speak to the Major at first opportunity.

Hitomi had been sitting quietly through all this, half listening as her worried little mind ran through a dozen different scenerios about what could possibly happen. None of the outcomes that came up did anything for her icreasingly tense state of mind.
"I will go too." She finally snapped up and into place as the words that came out of her mouth almost surprised her as much as anybody else. "Just in case anything happens... and I want to see what I might be up against as the colonies' Doctor."

He looked at everyone, "Well I think we covered everything for now. At this point, I suggest we adjourn for now and wait for the Major and his team to return. Major, I'll have those files to you in 20 minutes, and you can leave in the morning."
"We should see you return by Friday. Thank you everyone for attending, our last meeting should a week later." [/b]
Both of them gathered thier padds and walked out.
