He Listened to Ann and took in all that she said "What if a Colonist discovers an artifact?"
He looks at everyone "Then the first thing will be to get the perimeter up, to keep the animals out " he adds

She listened to the woman, Ann, talk about the different things but she didnt have much to add
Until one of the other men spoke up, "Then the first thing will be to get the perimeter up, to keep the animals out "
She turned to the man "Animals and Thieves" making her own addition
Not that she suspected anyone from the colony or the ship of being thieves, but word could spread

"hmm frank ponders the list of possiable locations coastal regions though abondent in animal and plant life and often with supplies of fresh water weere prone to heavy flooding and usually a round of storms during the year so thier chances of beingwashed into the sea were plentiful as for a lake front vista with little fresh water they could always purify and desalinate whatwas needed in that situation .

He listened as she explained that the satille was in orbit, for that he was grateful. Especially knowing the tremulous cost on resources, time etc would not be something the colony would have to do.
"Thank you Ann for that news. I assume no work on a communications grid has been accomplished and the link to the satille still needs to be done, since the site of the settlement is still undermined." Part of him would love it done but the other the part that was bored, and needed something more to do was inwardly grinning at this prospect.

Robert cleared his throat then looked around the room,"Ladies and Gentlemen your attention please. Mr Addison your assumption was correct. Only the satellite is in place.
Mr Hammond if a colonist finds an artifact, we will pay a fair market value for it. Concerning the discovery of artifacts here is the difference between our employees and the colonist themselves. This review is timely thank you for raising the question. Concerning the colonist 1) Any artifact discovered on the land they purchased, we will offer fair market value after a full appraisal has been completed. This will ensure that no one, not the colonist nor Artifacts will be cheated. 2) Major artifacts and the reason we are here should be turned over to us. We will make sure they are given a fair amount of credits or additional land or both. This is why there was no fee charged to them for passage here, and land they purchased was extremely reasonable. We also gave them preferred treatment as passengers. 3) We did a background check on each of the colonist and our people determined that they were the most likely to adhere to the expectations we have. For our employees 1) No matter what value of the artifact is, you must turn it over to us. Its location will be mapped to help us to determine the most likely sites to begin a dig. 2) On some artifacts you will receive a bonus. 3) A certain number of artifacts will be donated for displace in various museums and for the establishment of one here at the proper time and the governor will determine when the colony is ready." He stopped and looked around the room knowing that if someone had a question they would ask it.

When Robert directed part of his response to him he nodded. Hoping outwardly not to much was showing. Mentally he was already working on a list of how to get the job done. He wanted that satellite link established ASAP. So thats where his mind was for a few minutes. He had to pull himself away from thoughts to listen to the rest of the meeting.

nods hearing the review on the artifact discovery process extimating that a good portion of his time will likely be spent digging electrical lead lines communications trunks his team would be the most likely todiscover any artifacts immediatially and the least likely to make thier bonuses as was the norm for this company he honestly hoped that no coloney employee was intending on making thier fortunes in the stars just like this for Frank every day would be just another day on the job.

He smiled,"Then I believe that covers everything for now. From this point lets focus on what, you, as our employees would like to ask or know concerning this project. And lets begin with your concerns. I am open to answering any of your questions?"

He studies the site locations "I have no concerns right now, all three sites can be made safe for us once we know the site I can start a game plan on building the city"

She looked over the 3 sites, listened to what was not done in her area of expertise and nodded. She felt the eyes of Jaris on her and she looked up from her padd.
Fighting the instinct to say aye, when she saw her feeling was correct, she smiled instead. "I've only one question, you stated the sites are pristine. So we can accurately assess the inherent dangers. Can you give a threat assessment on the each site for the animals and plant life that was observed?"

He smiled at Skye, "Excellent question Ms Logan. Each site has its own unique set of concerns. Site 1, we observed two predators of real concern --- Its large, reptile like in appearance, amphibious, nocturnal, solitary, and oddly enough once it has its full it doesn't require any food for a week. We don't have any other information on it. The second predator was a large furred animal that hunts in the daytime, preferring the surrounding forest, and the medium to small animals located there. But was observed fishing in the ocean water, on one occasion. We made no observations on marine life."
"Site 2, we observed a huge mammal that hunts daily in packs. It entered the site range when after a animal it was hunting. There was a small animal that will attack if annoyed by anyone of our size. Its bite is deadly. I compare it to a scorpion perhaps. There are is also a verminous snake like creature that appears to be the natural predator of the scorpion like creature. There also was a large canine like creature that hunts in packs during the day."
"Site 3, we observed several mammals that were of concern, one was feline, the other canine like. The canine hunts in packs and has no preference as to hunting times. The feline is a solitary hunter, nocturnal."
"There were also herd animals observed at all the all the sites." He looked at her waiting to see if there was anything else.

Chase always enjoy hunting and fishing. Hearing this report he knew he would be able to enjoy this again. His smile was unplanned as he considered that.
"I have only one concern and thats for work crews and those of us who have to venture a distance from the settlement or in Logans case spend perhaps days observing the animals, will there be sufficient safety guards in place. Ah, security for instance?"
His concern was more for Logan and the Doctor who would probably want to check out various plants for their medical value.

She smiled at Chase. "Thank yer Mr Chase for your concern. Now to the hunter, yer need to wait until I've done my study."
Looking Mr Jaris, "It doesn't seem like anythin we canna handle. I look forward to the upcoming work."

Robert smiled and then continued."We have enough security people for those expeditions, or fact finding missions. Along with the necessary weapons, but as your colony grows this will become more of an internal maintance situation."
"But thats a matter better let to your Governor. And I will defer to him on that. I'm sure hes already started to work on that."
