Clara walked in her new office.She looked to make sure the engineers made the room inviting not sterile.She made sure her desk was small and would not be intimidating to anyone that came in.She liked the soft earthtones that the walls were painted.As she asked she had a chair set up in front of her desk that was comfortable as well.She hung up some pictures of ocean scenes and mountains.she checked the computer and made sure she had all the different types of music she asked for.She had requested files on all the crew to be sent to her computer.She was amazed at how many their were as she took a peek at them."well I know its not perfect,but in my field that word does not exist anyway."Clara sat at her desk and began to look at the crew files making notes where needed.

::Darius made his way down the corridors deep in the Aryes deciding to check in with the CNs briefly to make ure her housekeeping was coming along well he turned and stopped as her outer ocffice doors slid open. : "good evening and hello there Clara do you have a moment?"

Clara was just finishing up her last touches to her new room as she noticed some one talking to her,"good evening and hello there Clara do you have a moment?" Clara turned and smiled at Darius."Yes ,I just was finishing my office.Please have a seat." ::smiles again:: "Would you like some thing to drink?"

::taking a cup of coffee and a seat he smiled a little bit obviously holding something back as he started talking:: "'well not in an official capacity just here to welcome you aboard and see that your office and person are properly looked after i like to have a little chit chat time with everyone so perhaps you could tell me a little bit about yourself?"

:: enters the new office of the Ship's Counselor carrying a basket of flowers and sweets:: I thought I would bring a house warming gift to ensure your new space gets a great start. Nothing says Ships Counselor like flowers and sweats.
:: hands the basket of goodies to Clara :: When you are settled in and when you are ready to chat I would love to scedule some time with you, but there is no hurry on my part. I fear your days may be filled with a young crewmember. I made the medical report and you should be able to access it shortly.

Clara takes a seat as Darius starts to talk to her"'well not in an official capacity just here to welcome you aboard and see that your office and person are properly looked after i like to have a little chit chat time with everyone so perhaps you could tell me a little bit about yourself?" Clara Loves the sound of Welcome aboard she has always wanted to be apart of the UF and instead of having to day dream about it she was finally aboard.Clara looks at Darius ''Well I was born and raised in Tennessee.I have a older brother ,and a younger brother,I love to read love story's,and listen to music,and poetry,and umm chocolate"::Clara giggled to herself::" What girl doesn't like chocolate?" ::Clara seems to notice something is on his mind:: "Darius may I ask what is on your mind , Because your acting like you want to say something?"

Clara didn't know what to say as Kwin handed her a basket of goodies,Clara looked at Kwin happy to know she wanted to talk Clara cleared her throat"Kwin thank you so much for the goodies I never can get enough of sweets,and the flowers smell so sweet,Thank you again!Kwin I want to Schedule to see you tomorrow if thats ok.I am settled in and would love to talk with you as soon as possible,so when ever you have a chance to to see me tomorrow just let me know ok?""

"Darius may I ask what is on your mind , Because your acting like you want to say something?" he would hear clara say and he would hold his words back a little before finally unloading :: "well its all this violence and hostility on board the Aryes namely the cardassian incursion on the planet i lost some five men and got several more injured and medicially discharged I don't feel like i'm an effective leader tthese days i'm not sure how to proceed when i have to sign a death certificate of aletter to a wife with Ensign Larson I can't help but think about the family thinking their son or husband died because some fresh academy kid got off into something he couldnt handle "

Clara listened intently has Darius poured his true feelings out apparently very distressed.Clara sat back for a moment thinking."Darius losing people is difficult for anyone.That however does not make you a bad leader.In fact I think it makes you a great leader.It means you care about your team.If you did not feel remorse then I would be very worried about you.Also you have to remember your men volunteered for this job knowing it may cost them there life's.Writing letters to the family of the men you lost or are injured will always be hard. If not then that means you are losing apart of yourself that cares about others.I think that caring about others is what makes a great leader.I wish there was a way to make you feel better ,but in all honesty you are feeling what you should.I have an idea that may help you cope better if you wish.You may write the letters in my office with my support.::smiles::"Does any of this make sense to you?" Clara waited for his response.

:Darius his eyes closed listening processing her words would open them again gently and smile: yes Clara I think I get what you mean. compassion is a mark of leadership and i guess i cant let myself be hard like some others area about death I try to get so close to my men so they aren't scared of me just because of my rank or position that I often lose sight of the fact that we all risk our lives everyday and sometimes I just want my friends back but that would be selfish of me " :;smilng a tear streaming down his face racing a hand thru his red hair :: you've been helpful Clara glad to have you on board I should hope your getting everything here settled in well?

Clara listen to his words very closely, also watching the tear fall from his eye.::Clara knows he is in allot of pain and couldn't help to cry herself hoping Darius doesn't see::"Darius would you like a tissue? I know how you feel ,about making people you guide more as friends then just another person you are responsible for.I think being there friend makes them trust in you more,and the way you approach your men is conflicted in the way your men work.I know this is a hard time for you and I hope you understand that this is completely normal.And yes everything is coming along"Clara looks at Darius truly feeling for his pain.::smiles::"I think it would be good for you to make weekly appointments until you can shed some of your pain and responsibility i feel this would be the best thing for you Darius.Also I want to ask you if you want to write your letters in here?"

Clara sits ,and embraces the thought of how hard this must be for Darius." Since you don't them as well may I suggest that you write to their family's about how proud the UF is to have had them aboard,and how sad we feel about losing one of our finest men,because Darius all are men are the finest."Clara smiled at Darius"If you need any help I will be glad to help you.Like I said though I really want to talk to you at least weekly if thats OK with you?"Clara handed him a piece of chocolate Kwin had brought her for a house warming gift."Take a piece it always makes me fell better.::Clara giggled knowing it wouldn't make him feel better,but it gave her a reason to try a piece herself.
