He listened intently as the Colonel spelled out their orders.He could not help but be shocked as he heard the Boston's recording.
He heard as a whole squadron of fighters was wiped out.A wave of sorrow came over him.He quickly shook it of and continued taking notes.
Finally he spoke up,"Colonel if this is a warrior race and they are confused they will most likely deploy fighters as a show of strength."
"I recommend we do the same in exact numbers as they do but unlike the Boston we keep them in an attack posture but not do so."
"I think this show of force would cause them to see we are willing and ready to fight without shooting.I see it as an Alpha male thing.We just show them ok you have fighters so do we."
He stopped at that and let others talk.

She listened to the LT. as he spelled out his idea on fighter deployment.If they were a warrior race it made sense.
"Colonel I understand that no one has made contact with this ship.That makes our job even tougher especially if they are a new species."
"Perhaps if contact is made our CNS Kestra could get some kind of reading on them?If she could that would make life easier on us."
"At least we would have a glimpse into how they think or feel."

"Colonel. I would like to add that while we have seen some good examples of their behavior, we should be cautious in making any assumptions. For example, we do not know whether in fact they came through this rift involuntarily and they may not feel any fear or confusion as we understand it. It would be a grave error to presume their motives based on our own limited knowledge of other similar races."

Kestra would listen to what Colonel Allen had to say. It did almost break her heart to listen to something like that, but it was necessary to find out what went wrong. She turned to look at the other three and listened to them as well. Cordais was right, they do not know what they are thinking or how they are feeling. Not now anyways.
"Once we are close enough to them, I should be able to 'sense' what they are thinking and feeling.", she would pipe up. But a telepath nor a empath is not even needed to know what they are thinking. Their actions already proved it what they are thinking and feeling. It was something she may not be needed for after all.
"For now, we should be on are very best guard.", she continued to say.

He listened to the Colonel's report and heard the reactions from it, then he put in what he thought of the situation, speaking to Colonel Allen
"We have a warrior race that we have no idea where they come from. They could be from the future or they could be from another dimension or it could be both scenerios. It is obvious that it terms of weaponry, they have us outgunned. Also, the possibilty exists that they do not know our language and in their confused state, they see this an attack, while we're trying to determine their purpose.
I think our biggest obstacle would be to figure out their language and tell them the situation before they blow us to smithereens"
He then paused and waited for any reaction/comments from the others

She looked at the door to the Colonel's ready room wondering what the meeting was about. But then she thought if there is any thing she need to know the Major would tell her, it was hard being out of the loop. She went back to monitoring the security console.

She looked at everyone and listened to them as they gave their thoughts.
"Sir, I would like to have a detailed recording of the rift, and the pattern it developed. Also, if any anomaly besides the rift showed at the exact same time."
"I also suggest we re-chart the area. These rifts have been known to cause permanent changes in any area they have been found. Now, since this was created by an artificial means we can only guess at the various disturbances it could have created."
"I have to agree with both Major Aniri and Lt t'Fveek." she noticed and felt the Lt winch at her misprouncation of her name. Looking at her she smiled. "Lt forgive my misprouncation. I'll get it right." Then returning her attention to the group. "We will need to approach them showing strength but at the same time a willingness to sit down and talk. When we make contact I will give you any information I can pick up."
"Between me and Lt Elbrun we should be able to supply a more complete picture."

She sat forward to view the recordings from both the Boston and Sea Coral. She watched with the trained eye of Marine CO, who might need send her people in. She would look at the details and find anything which might present them with a problem. She thought she caught a glimmer of something, she would need a copy of this to fully view in her office. She would have Lt Connor watch it with her.
As the screen filled with the debris her eyes quickly surveyed the screen. Then it was there again for a brief few seconds. Her eyes squinted and she lightly bit her lower lip.
"Colonel, is this the only recordings we have? And do we have anything at all from the Vulcan Science Station in the form of a recording?"
She tapped her fingernails lightly and remained in a forward sitting position. She pulled her attention away from the viewer.
"Sir, if I may have a copy for study of this event." She wouldn't say anything yet until she sure or directly asked.
"I completely agree with the warrior race theory. I base this on personal encounters with various races of this type as a Marine. Just remember in showing strength you will need to gage the right amount. If not you have a real problem. As I'm sure Major Aniri, and Lt t'Fveik can attest to, as members of such races."
"I don't suppose there was any boarding party to see what they have individually."
"Its been my experience that most would welcome a chance to engage someone in hand to hand, or in close quarters."
She became quiet again and did a final quick assessment.
"I'll have my Marines ready when they are needed. Lt t'Fveik if you can run scans that will tell me, type of environ they have, and if lucky a sneak look at them."
"Another dimension, future, or both? Unlikely I would think."

He listened as they all took their turn and spoke.As expected he was flooded with valuable information.
"Of course Major Iverson I am sending a copy to your office now."He tapped the keys to make the transfer.
"The Vulcan's still are not saying much we are working on that now.So I can not guarantee anything from them.To be very frank I am getting very irritated about that."
"You would think since they started this mess they would be out here helping."Looking back to Major Iverson,"No there was no boarding parties so we are in the dark on that."
"I must agree we are most likely dealing with a warrior race.I worked with a Romulan ground unit during the Dominion wars.So I can posture like we are all a warrior culture as well."
"Ensign Moon, I do not think they are from the future.If they were I think they would have not warped out when the Coral Sea came.As far as another dimension that to seems unlikely since the Vulcan's were working on a propulsion system to get around our galaxy."
"However once this meeting is done I want all weapons hot.However do not target the ship once we find it."
He looked to Captain Dorius,"I already have sent you all the information on the rift.I am not a telepath but I knew you would want that."He smiled for a brief instance.
"And yes I will need you and Lt. Elbrun to see what you can pick up once contact is made."
Lt. Fviek I agree we can make no assumptions about wether they came through or was pulled in the rift."
"So Major Iverson,Lt Kelly I want your marines and fighters on ready alert from now on until we finish this business.""
Jay that goes for security as well ready alert.Once this meeting is adjourned we are to go to Yellow alert.I want everyone on their toes so to speak."
"Does any one else have anything to add?"

Justin sat back and listened to what everyone had to say on the matter. His fingers tapped on his PADD in front of him, added infomation that he would need to review later. When was asked if there was anything to add, Justin looked up from his PADD.
"Since we yet to know what their technology would be at the moment, I would have all my engineering teams on stand by and ready when needed, sir.", he would say.
Justin would even go as far as making sure that each repair teams from each shift is on call. He may even have the Gamma shift come in to help when they arrive.

He nods as the Colonel spoke to him
"Yes, Sir! Weapons, and shields, will be as hot as I can get them by the time we meet with.. our visitors"
He then made a mental note as the Colonel mentioned to Major Aniri that he wants the ship at Yellow Alert

"Science ,Ops, and Tac I want full scans from here on out.Helm when you get back to your post make a heading 118 Mark 04 warp 8."
"Everyone knows what we have to do lets do it."He went on the Bridge looked at everyone getting down to business before taking a seat.
He went over the data again still surprised no word from the Vulcan,s."Captain Zarlena an ETA please?

She stood when he did.
"Yes sir."
She walked out of the ready room went to her console. She was given an update on what transpired. She entered her access code, then sat down.
Her slender fingers raced across the console inputting the new heading, and speed.
"Colonel, our new ETA is four hours. Our current heading 118 Mark 04, and speed is at warp 8."
She began to consider a few things that were said at the meeting while she did she raced her pendant on its chain.

When he ended the briefing she stood and looked at Doc Romberger.
"Looks like we may have our hands full soon. I'll get back to you ASAP on who I can send to you for that training."
