A Dark Horizon

Every One I know you were working hard on our SL,and we had some great posts.There was a glitch, or something that caused safe passage to be deleted, after it reproduced itself under a sticky announcement. This thread will be the Story line.

In it the following will remain as sim facts.

1) The new crew members are cleared for duty and assigned to their posts.

2) Iverson has been given permission to send for her son

3) Kyah had her twins

4) FMar Weslynes has assured me that full credit will be given to the crew for the hard work they did in safe passage.

Now I know it will be different but I have no doubts this crew can pull it off and make it even better.

Thomas moaned and climbed out of bed as the computer sounded its all to polite wake up call.He hit the showers first.That helped him wake up and he did his routine of shaving and putting on a fresh uniform.

As he walked into the main part of his quarters he decided for breakfast it would be corn beef hash and eggs with coffee.He ate quickly and placed his tray in the reclaimer.Stretching first he headed for the Bridge early as he liked to do.

As the TL made the ride to the Bridge he checked his uniform.Once the doors opened he stated,"As you were "before everyone could say anything.He looked over the duty roster from the ranking Bridge Officer.

While walking to his position on the Bridge a young Ensign informed him he had a sub space message waiting for him in his Ready Room.

Nodding,"Lt Davis you have the Conn until Alpha shift arrives."He entered the Ready Room giving the computer his password to activate the message.

He was surprised to find an urgent set of orders waiting for the Tarawa.Listening intently he whistled through his teeth.Tapping his Comm Badge,"Lt Davis have Major Annari report to the Ready Room as soon as she gets to the Bridge."
He got a cup of coffee and took a seat reading his orders again that he had transfered to his PADD.

Kelly got up cheery as usual sat down and ate a bowl of cereal and had some orange juice.He quickly got into his jogging suit and met up with Zar for their morning run.

Afterward he headed back to his quarters for a shower and a shave.Dawning a fresh uniform he headed for the hangar.Singing as he entered he saw the other pilots coming in and going over their fighters.

"Ladies and gentleman this morning everyone will hit the simulators for at least one hour and practice crash landings."He smiled as he heard the groans,"Thats the spirit mates.We will do it in rotations so we have at least 4 fighters on ready alert."
He bowed playfully and headed for his office to make sure he had the rotations ready to go.

Rising he looks and see his bunk mates still a sleep, he heads for the shower, showers shaves then puts on his uniform

Then heads for five forward, when he arrives he looks around, goes up to the replicator "6 stakes rare 6 eggs over easy, 4 slices of toast, Orange juice, and coffee" he orders when the food appears he takes and empty table

Checking the time 4 hours till shift starts, he starts to eat

Kyah wakes up to the sound of crying. She mumbles something incoherent and closes her eyes again, nudging Thomas to go take care of them. Then another cry started up. Kyah rolls out of bed with a thunk and she walks sleepily to the nursery.

She changes their diapers first. Then, she picks up Tommy, then Nate and tries to soothe them back to sleep for the 5th time that night. They had duty in a couple of hours and she is desperate to get a bit more sleep before having to take the boys to the babysitter and go on duty before her carreer suffered.

She bounces them in her arms a little and whispers soothingly to the crying boys. If this is how fussy babies are... she reconsiders wanting to have more until the first two are toilet trained. She sits in the rocking chair and rocks them back and forth... until she falls asleep with the boys in her arms.

The computer woke her and she sat on the edge of the bed. Stretching, then yawns. Sitting there she wonders what the day will bring. The scuttlebutt, a new mission is about to begin. She looked at the time, got up and then put on her running clothes. Taking a towel she ties it around her waist. She left her quarters and headed for the gym where there was track.

She got there and look around no one was there and this didn't surprise her. She was an early bird. She took her towel and put it on the bench and started to run, after warming up.

Two minutes into her run Kelly joined her. They ran the track twice, talking a little as they went. She was still surprised she found him so attractive. He was the first non-Betazoid she found that attractive. But what surprised her the most, was the fact he took the time to research her culture.

He had learned so much that it seemed like he was a Beta male. At the end of the run she took the towel and wiped off her face and hands.

"Kelly you amaze me, thats all I will say." She smiled then started to walk out. After leaving the gym they talked until their paths to their quarters took them in different directions.

She entered her quarters, and got her breakfast. Betazoid coffee, swixx juice, rixxen bread toasted with some jelly. She ate slowly and in the background the chimes rang.

After finishing her breakfast she took a shower, dressed and left her quarters after cleaning them.

She entered the TL, "Computer Bridge" She faced the front and waited the few seconds as it whisked her to the bridge. Leaving the TL she went directly to her console. Received the report from the night before, taking her seat she she accessed the console.

"Thank you, Sgt. You can leave a few minutes early." As usual Zar was ready to get to work. She checked her nav scans, heading/speed, made a visual confirmation of where they were, took her pendent out and began to race it. Her mind that she kept hidden was working on a personal matter.

Once the klaxon sounded the start of Alpha shift she was completely focused on helm.

Amy groaned and muttered as the computer alarm woke her up.She hated mornings and the bed looked very comfy right about now.Instead she climbed into a hot shower That let her wake up slightly.

She ate a small breakfast with coffee.She giggled slightly at the thought of the crew who she harped about caffeine found out.Sliding into a clean uniform she fixed her hair and left her quarters.

Entering the Tl still yawning,"Sickbay."She listened to the familiar hum followed by the hiss of The TL doors opening.Walking down the corridor she put on her best smile and entered Sickbay.

"Good morning how is everyone doing?" She began to go over last nights paper work,a few bumps and bruises but nothing serious.

Kol'Rah awoke very happy secretly he enjoyed the bed designed for Klingon's but he would never mention it.He stood up ravenous.He found that live Terran grubs actually made a good meal.He got the bowl from the replicator.

After breakfast he showered and put on his uniform and sharpened his Bat'Leth until time to report.He headed down the hall to the marine training area.As he entered he barked out orders to the other non comms to get prepared for the morning inspection.

He was in the simulator trying to coax a fighter with engines running at only 10%.The ground was coming up fast but he doing great.He saw a clearing ahead and used his maneuvering thrusters to get her lined up.

Then he did the worst thing a pilot could do he got cocky and let his mind wonder.Zar came into his thoughts,those dazzling eyes,the smell of her hair,and the statement she made this morning."Kelly you amaze me, thats all I will say." Suddenly alarms went crazy and he looked up to see trees right in front of him.

The screen went black and the computer stated,"Fighter crashed chance of survival 03%.He opened the simulator to the hoots and teasing of The other pilots and the ground crew.

Agitated,"Yes mates I know crash and burn,crash and burn."

Melvin awoke when his alarm went off. he checked the time and seen that it was an hour before his shift started. He heard rumors of a new mission and he was looking forward to starting. He reached for his uniform and then paused

"A morning swim would be nice" he thought to himself and then dug out his swimming attire and headed for the gym

He entered the gym, not noticing Zarlena and Kelly on the track. It wasnt until he finished his fourth lap aound the pool then he noticed Zarlena and Kelly finishing their run. He paused a moment to observe them for a moment. He watched as Zarlena towel herself off and from his point of view, she was enjoying her talk with Kelly. He smiled to himself, but then inwardly, he wasnt smiling as much. As Zarlena turned to walk out, he returned to his laps and finished at 10

Drying off with a towel, he returned to his quarters, showered, put on a fresh uniform, and made his way to the bridge.

He relieved the Beta shift officer and looked over the logs from the beta shift. He noticed that shield harmonics was off by a fraction and called down to Engineering to report the problem

Cordais had hardly slept a wink. A new ship, new officers whose habits she had to learn and a new station had kept her mind restless. She needed to center herself.
She got up, opened a drawer and took a crystal from a small cloth pouch. It was about five inches long and a translucent white. Solid selenite. She held it in her right hand, sat again on the edge of the bed and began a basic grounding meditation.
Twenty minutes later she opened her eyes refreshed. She would not take Firstmeal today. Some additional time fasting would help to clear her mind.
A few more minutes to put on a fresh uniform and she would be ready to report for her first full shift.
She was alone as she rode the lift but when she arrived, the bridge hummed with activity, Neither the Captain not the XO were there and all appeared as she expected it should with one shift ended and the next beginning. Cordais took her station and concentrated on catching up on messages and reports.

Kasia woke up to the sound of her timer going off. She groaned. Some days she just wanted to sleep in. She rolled over and put her pillow over her ears as it continued to go off but gave up a few seconds later. "All right all right I'm up. Computer turn off alarm."

She then went to the sonic shower and got ready for her day, putting her hair up in its usual neat bun. She then got a cheese danish from the replicator along with an terran apple juice and scarfed down a breakfast. Kasia then rushed to sickbay a step behind the doctor.

"Good Morning Doctor." She says with a smile and goes over to the paitents that were in sickbay to see how they were doing this morning. Paper work could wait, patients came first.

She was awake 30 minutes before the computer alerted her.She had a weird dream that she was on a strange planet all alone.The sky was sort of orange and she was standing in a grassy field.

Suddenly she heard a sound behind her.She turned and saw herself facing a strange creature.It was humanoid but its face had insect qualities to it.She tried to talk but could not,she could feel the creature prying into her mind.

She awoke in a cold sweat,slowly she got out of her bed safely on the Tarawa.She put the dream in the back of her head and went on with her morning routine.

After a light breakfast and a shower she was feeling better.She put on her uniform headed out of her quarters toward the TL.She took the short ride to the marine training area.

Suppressing a smile as she watched Sgt. Kol'Rah getting the enlisted in order.He was really starting to take charge and understand the Federation way of being a marine.

Walking into her small office beside the Major's she went to the task of going over the reports.She wanted to have them ready once the Major arrived.

Smiling,"Morning Kasia and its Amy in here ok?"She watched Kasia go straight for thee patients checking them making sure they were comfortable.

She really had a wonderful bedside manor.Sometimes Amy got so wrapped up in her work she lost track of that aspect.She made a mental note and walked over to the patients as well.

[Sergant Thomas Kinsely]

Thomas had felt the nudge from earlier and would outstreatch his hand onto the empty spot where Kyah was sleeping from earlier. He opened his eyes and sees that she was not there. Pulled back the sheets as he gotten up out of the bed. Quietly making his way into the nursary, to see Kyah sleeping in the rocker with the boys in her arms. He would smile and gentle take them both in his arms. Craddles them both in his arms and would let Kyah sleep a little bit longer before he had to wake her up for their duty shift.

Thomas would help put Tommy and Nate to sleep. It didn't take him long before they were fast asleep in his arms. He would quietly place them back into their cribs. Looked over and sees Kyah still sleeping in the rocker. He goes over to her and gentle gives her a kiss before going into the kitchen to fix breakfast. He would fix eggs, bacon, ham and sausage, along with some biscuits and waffles that Kyah loved so much. The smell would eventually drift over to Kyah's nose. Just enough to where it could wake her up.

Thomas would be bringing the food and drinks to the table, setting the table before Kyah would wake up. It was still time to eat before duty started.
