Liordra exited her office, taking in the Oira and the officers there in a single critical sweep.
"Reports!" She briskly walked the few steps down to the command circle and tapped the console opening up a channel to engineering. "Arrain Quol, we have new orders and will not be able to stop anywhere for more extensive repairs. What is our current status?"
While she waited she spoke to Flight Control. "Set a course for Belak. Best possible speed. Coordinate with the Daise'Paectum."
Liordra's expression was confident but their orders had again been sent by the Tal'Shiar. She wondered if it was the Khrein's presence or perhaps only simple coincidence. She could not tell what, but something about it felt oppressive, weighty. She straightened her shoulders and seated herself as she listened to the reports.

His back strightened in his seat as the Riov emerged from her office "Flight Control systems are working with no deviations, Lhhei" He reported to her after she had requested a report from the Oria
A few moments later, he starts imputting the coordinates for Belak at Maximum warp. He would also contact the Daise'Paectum to coordinate things with him

Operations reporting, Llhhei. All systems at nominal condition, data systems secured, and all non-rostered personnel accounted for. He smiled to himself enjoying the feel of production in his finger tips.

Quol bumped his head on the bulkhead that he was currently half way into replacing a burnt out power relay when he heard the yell of the ship's commander. He pulled himself out backward with tool still in hand. Finish replacing that relay, he said to a sub-centurion that was standing near by, smiling maliciously at the head injury his chief engineer had just sustained.
The Romulan engineer did not salute or even acknowledge the order. His expression turned to murder and insult before finally going to his knees to crawl into the bulkhead the Ferengi had just extracted himself from. With a small smile Quol turned to reply to the ship's Commander, when another passing Romulan stuck his foot out. The smaller engineer went tumbling forward and wound up on the flat of his back. The engineers around him pretended not to notice, but their quiet snickers couldn't get past his lobes.
With a sigh he clicked his comm-unit. Commander, the engines are working at nominal capacity. I managed to refine the containment field around the singularity with a tri-harmonics frequency. It should stabilize it enough to prevent any cataclysmic events and allow for engine output to exceed 100% for a longer amounts of time... Most of the secondary systems are still being worked on, but you should have most of primary systems to work with. I still recommend we put into a port. We are running low on supplies, but we'll keep working. Rule of Acquisition 36, Stretch your supplies and condense your profit.
He clicked the comm-unit off and laid on his back for a few minutes before picking himself up with a sigh and getting back to work.

Lyretha tapped the console, bringing up the most recent shift reports."Dheno (Security) reports all areas secure. No concerns forwarded, Lhhei. "

Their orders had been vague and specified only where they were to go and what they were to look for. This was the Tal'Shiar's way. Providing only enough information to accomplish what was necessary. One might never know the reason a mission had been assigned or what outcome was expected.
"There have been reports from our colony on Belak. Operatives there have noted a recent increase in insurgencies. Dhivael has been ordered there to investigate and determine whether these uprisings require an occupational presence to control. This is a covert operation, not a military action. We must find out the cause of the schism and report our recommendations but we must not appear to side with any one group."
For the hundredth time, Liordra wondered what part the Khrein might have in this. Did she direct it or was she also receiving orders?
"I will be choosing a team who will make contact with the citizens and begin making inquiries. If you wish to be considered for this team, contact me privately. Flight Control, please notify me when we enter home space."
The heeled boots she has recently chosen to begin wearing clicked decisively as she returned to her office. Bending to the console on her desk she typed out a summary mission briefing and sent it to those department heads and officers who had not present on the oira.

Jerrod got the message. He had noticed the Daise'Dheno's new promotion and thought that maybe it was time for him to make an effort to show he was not just content to sit a his station. He sent his message to the commander:
Riov,
I wish to volunteer for the coming mission. I am not only volunteering for the mission, but also putting a request in the lead the team. I feel my time as a vedek gave me experience in peaceful negotiations, and my time in the Maquis give me experience in hostile ones.. I wish to have a greater responsibility.
Thank you,' Jerrod

She entered the oria a few minutes late, she was detained by Tv'lack. Taking her seat she heard the order to report status. She quickly scanned the report and diagnostics.
"Fleet Communications and Diplomatic station are ready for your command."

Quol was standing at the diagnostics panel in engineering running simulations on the patchwork the teams did on the astrometic sensors when he heard the second message com in from the Commader.
He laughed a little and shook his head. "Considered for the team." I'm a quantum theorist not a diplomat. I prefer the solitude of the engine, and here I will stay.

Two volunteers, Khellian and Jerrod. She had hoped that Khev would have also, but increasingly she had spent much less time on the oira than in conference with the Khrein. Often she left without word and returned without explanation. "I wish to have greater responsibility." Jerrod had written. Interesting that the Bajoran should find his ambition now when they were about to become involved in a mission with no Federation interests. Jerrod's race might be a hindrance but his experience might also prove useful. Liordra sent a return message.
"Once we have arrived at Belak, be ready to leave in one hour. Transporter Room 2. Bring standard equipment and arms. Acknowledge."

Renn received the message, and let a brief smile curl on his lips. It was not a smile of satisfaction, but that of plan unfolding in the way one envisioned. "Message received and acknowledged, Llhhei. I will ready at the designated time. As the confirmation crossed his screen that his message was sent his mind already went forward to the task at hand, and his obvious liabilities. Renn had been around these Rihannsu long enough to know their nationalistic tendencies. That the Riov would allow him a place on the mission, was a challenge. She had read his message, and surmised some of the underlying goals. He would accept this as a challenge and meet it head on. It was the first time in a long time that he had risked something and it felt good.
