Finished with his Adjustments to the Nacelle he had made his way to engineering for him all was quiet he was not needed on the away mission and to his pleasure therewas no emergency that seemed to need his talents atthe moment beyond the routine maintainence of the ship. there was no need to bother the Captain or the Bridge personell if they needed him they would surely hollar..At the moment he was studying the "pool table " he already had the work benc in his office full of projects to keep his enginering crew busy for weeks.

Captain's Reply>
Hearing the Captain's words she just wanted to transport back to the ship, jump out of the suit and claw the Captain's tongue out of his mouth. Her tail twitched in the suit but if she was not wearing one her tail would be swinging back and forth and her fur spiked with anger. How dare he even thought she was panicking. For she had never panicked in her life but as far as Caitians go she was still young. Hearing the Commander she quickly turned back to face him and noticed he had found more information on what ever attacked the ship. He tail stopped twitching and listened on. "Sir is it possible that what ever these things are, were just trying to protect something? As if someone felt that the ship was a threat and launched them?"

OOC: Apologies for the delay in post. I've been feeling under the weather and just now getting over what I caught
He stood by and listened as Ijoula reported that he found a log of a previous attack on the Jackson that the one he had found. He looked surprised but he didn't comment as he made his report
"Swift and powerful is an understatement... However... Judging from these logs, I'd say they encountered another one of these drones earlier, but were able to destroy it before it caused too much damage...
Where this second one came from that packed this level of a punch, I'm not sure... It might have come from one of the planets that the Jackson was investigating..."
"That's a very strong possibility, Commander. These drones could be coming from the same source
Listening as the commander went on "The first device was destroyed before it could fully breach the shields before they left orbit of the planet...
A second device was launched approximately twelve minutes later and engaged the Jackson. This one apparently was more maneuverable and had stronger weapons and defenses... It appears to have been destroyed when it collided with the ship, following a direct phaser hit, causing a hull rupture on deck nine. My guess is that the phaser hit had damaged its navigation system and it couldn't pull away in time.
A third drone attacked after another twelve minute interval, far stronger than the previous one. This one was equipped with even stronger weapons, shields like what you'd expect to find on a Miranda-class combat-refit cruiser, and a cloaking device.
It was then that the captain gave the order to leave orbit and get away. Unfortunately, the drone followed them here and forced its way onboard after another fierce battle outside. What happened after that is nothing short of a rampage, sir...
There is an entry here that seems to indicate a large electromagnetic pulse was rigged in an effort to stop the drone, using the main sensors and some serious power from the impulse engines... That sounds like something Brex would've done in this situation...
It appears it was enough to stop the drone's rampage, and would have likely knocked its power core out, as well as its weapons and navigational systems.
I would like to think that such a strong EMP pulse blast would've knocked it out of commission permanently."
His tail twitched and he shook his head a bit "Sounds like the Jackson got it's tail stuck in a slice bill's nest and couldn't get it out" ( human translation: Bit off more then they could chew ) He began to wonder where the fourth drone is or would it come, since he was sure the 12 minute interval was long past due. Perhaps the person(s) responsible for the attacking drones is happy that they chased off the Jackson and felt the 4th drone unnecessary "Alright, Commander. See if you can't download the sensor logs over here so we can study them and purr-haps coordinate a suitable defense against these drones should they decide to attack again"
He turned a look over to GreyHouse, as Ijoula recommended they go to battle stations. Being a Tactical officer himself, he understood both Ijoula and GreyHouse's concern of another attack "Understood, Commander. The safety of this ship and crew is paramount" He then spoke to Grey House "Ye.."
He was interrupted by the Science Officer and he turned his attention toward Thelis. He raised a brow slightly as he suggested not preparing for battle as it may instigate a battle "Purr-haps, Lt, but I would rather be a little extra cautious then not enough. It's better to be prepared. it can determine whether you stay alive or not"
He turned back to Grey House and finished what he was going to say "Yellow Alert"

Buford was listening to the chatter on the bridge and between the Captain and Commander.
As he held the ship steady, when he heard the Captain say "Yellow Alert" Buford quickly brought up Evasives Maneuvers on stand by
" Evasives Maneuvers on stand by Sir"

He heard the Klaxons and,saw the Lights which signaled a yellow alert. Again he did not bother to inform the Captain he something he should already know, which was Enginering was ready. What he did do was immediately send a Display of the Damage Control teams and their position noting their readinessto the Operations officer. He also wondered aboutthe find on the Ship they were investigating . he again kept quiet as it seemed his engineering input was not needed at this point.

"Respectfully, sir, whatever the Jackson ran into, it might compare with your... 'slice-bill nest' that you mentioned earlier." He had to say "slice-bill" slowly to make sure it came out right.
"Brex would've accused them of getting their nacelles stuck in a vat of quicksand with the vultures circling overhead..."
He starts working to get the logs sorted out and transmitted.
"Stand by. Transmitting now... I hope... Please confirm reception, as I'm not sure the primary transmitters over here are working." he added as he looked at data on the transmitter functions.
"It might be a good idea to take a hint from the Jackson's crew, though, and prepare an EMP device. I can tell you that if Brex were here, she'd only be too happy to rig up one of those. Finding ways to disable the 'bad guys' seemed to be a hobby for her."
He would then look at Kefira.
"It's possible. But one has to ask why such a comparatively lengthy time interval between each assault, and the fact that they steadily upgraded the devices that attacked. I'm beginning to wonder if some kind of automated weapons system was activated and it went after the Jackson..."

She hear the call to Yellow alert and sounded it throughout the ship. The lights turning on in key areas to signal yellow alert. That yellow glow making her even more anxious then she already was about the situation. These guys weren't going to give up on one starship if they are sending drones out.
Shifting her stance so to appear not so tensed up she spoke, "Yellow alert sounded, sir. All non-esensal personell have been ordered to report to quarters. Everyone is at battle stations."
She then went back to her pannel working on it quickly to bring shelds to ready and weapons to stand by status. Knowing full well that whoever it was could do it again and to protect the ship and the away team was the priority right now in her mind.

His ears quivered a little in thought as Crio made a comment about The Jackson getting there tail stuck in a slice bill's nest "As humans say, you can say that again" thinking that He had already made that analogy
He listened to what Crio said about what Brexen would say getting their nacelles stuck in a vat of quicksand with the vultures circling overhead..." He pondered that one too and his tail spiraled in humor, before quickly un spiraling again and he wincing in pain "Very funny, Commander. So funny, it placed a kink in my tail" He commented. Although the kink occurred when he had been promoted to Captain. He had been totally surprised, then thoroughly overjoyed at the announcement. He would have went down to sickbay to have it looked at but things came up and needed his attention. He decided to have it looked at now, before the injury got any worse and would impair his abilities. He tapped out a message on his command chair controls and sent it to sickbay, requesting that a nurse be sent up to the bridge ASAP
"Stand by. Transmitting now... I hope... Please confirm reception, as I'm not sure the primary transmitters over here are working." He nodded and looked at Science, Operations and Tactical, following Ijoula's request that he/they confirm that they receive the information from the Jackson "Very good, Lt" He said to Grey House as she reported that Yellow Alert had been called and all non essential personnel reported to their quarters
"It might be a good idea to take a hint from the Jackson's crew, though, and prepare an EMP device. I can tell you that if Brex were here, she'd only be too happy to rig up one of those. Finding ways to disable the 'bad guys' seemed to be a hobby for her."
He looked a bit amused as he mentioned Brexen again. The way he talked about her, she must have been a very special female and he was quite fond of her "I am certain that she would prepare a proper EMP pulse, if she were here. I would have liked to have met her."
He tapped his badge and called down to Engineering. "Bridge to Engineering. Chief, I need a favor. I need you to prepare an EMP pulse. IF the Commander's and my instincts are correct, we are going to need it"
He paused and waited for a new round of reports to come in

He would chuckle a bit at the remark about the captain wishing he could have met Brexen. What he's given from her "bag of tricks" of funny thoughts wasn't even the tip of the iceberg.
"I'll try not to make it any worse, sir." he said, having a fair idea of what he meant about a 'kink in his tail'.
He continued looking over the data, especially over the EMP pulse the Jackson crew had rigged. As he looked at the data, his eyes widened and a shrill whistle came from him, followed up with a remark.
"Whoa...."
He had to shake his head a bit and did a double take on the data he was presented with.
"That EMP pulse... They wanted to make sure it was extremely potent... They routed their primary sensor array through the main deflector dish, and then tied in warp power to both the sensors and the deflector dish... This had the effect of boosting the strength of the EMP wave by a factor of twenty... They must've shielded their main systems over here in order to protect against that strong of a pulse..."
He was indeed surprised by what he found, and didn't care if his surprise showed through to anyone.
After a moment more of data collecting to his tricorder and making sure all relevant data was transmitted over to the Terrasect, he would get up from the OPS console, and start to make his way toward the tactical console when there was another bright flash of light, followed immediately by the sound of another console exploding, a bit closer to Crio.
"Agh!" he yelped loudly, with his hands coming in front of his helmet to shield his head.
The explosion sent him a bit sideways, nearly tumbling over the bridge railing surrounding the command circle.
It would take several seconds before he would move again, as he was a bit dazed and shaken.
"Ugh..." he uttered with a groan as he got back to a standing position.
"This is getting very annoying... The bridge isn't supposed to be exploding around anyone unless the ship's in battle...
Cadet, let's go see if we can find that specter you saw earlier, and then regroup with the rest of the away team."
He would press his wrist control panel to tie in the com.
"Ijoula to MacAuley. Did you find anything of interest in any of the science labs?"

His whiskers perked forward then back slightly as he heard the Commander tell him that he'll try not to put any more of a kink in his tail then there already is. That is very kind of him, he mused
He blinked, his ears twitching then tilting forward as he heard the shrill sound. He wasn't sure what kind of soud it was. Then he remember it was something humans called a whistle. There were various sounds to a whistle. One to show surprise, one to show that they are pleased at what, or who, they see and some whistle cause they have nothing else to do. Crio's whistle sounded like he was surprised or impressed with what he saw, with a little bit of disbelief?
"That EMP pulse... They wanted to make sure it was extremely potent... They routed their primary sensor array through the main deflector dish, and then tied in warp power to both the sensors and the deflector dish... This had the effect of boosting the strength of the EMP wave by a factor of twenty... They must've shielded their main systems over here in order to protect against that strong of a pulse..."
He would whistle himself, if he could. He just took in that bit of information "Sounds as if that they're were trying to disable that vessel as a last ditch effort to save themselves, but the damage had already been done" He commented to Ijoula
He heard Mr Thelis report that he recieved the information that Ijoula sent over. He turned a glance to the science officer. "That is good. Let me know when Analysis.." He is cut off by another explosion
He whirled back around to see, through Ijoula's visual visor, Ijoula nearly being thrown over the Command Center railing and he dangled precariously, not falling either way "Commander"? He called out, somewhat calmly. What he wanted to do is wring his tail, or the Commander's neck for putting himself in danger like that "Commander"?! He called out with more volume, and concern, in his voice
He was about to call Doctor MacAuley directly and tell her to get to the bridge immediately when Crio started to come around. His whiskers twitched a bit as he heard Ijoula comment that it was getting annoying, that the bridge isn't suppoed to be exploding around them unless they were in battle
"Indeed, Commander, it is getting annoying. I didn't send you over there to get yourself blown up. Be more careful" He told him as he told Kefira to see if she could go find her specter she thought she saw, then called Doctor MacAuley to see if she found anything in the science labs

Crio groans a bit as he blinks to clear his vision fully from the bright light from the explosion.
"Respectfully, sir..." he said, kinda breathy, "I am trying to be careful... Either this is left over damage from the battle, or the bridge here has more than a few gremlins hiding in her consoles...
Oh, trust me... This cannot begin to compare to what I went through during the last year... I've been in closer calls than this... by far..."
He looked around a bit, finally finding Kefira's form again as he got near to an engineering console, to get a damage report.
He would have to squint a bit as his eyes hadn't fully readjusted yet, as he looked at the display, and he narrated what he saw, clearly like an engineer talking to himself or herself while evaluating the damage. Oddly enough, his intonation changed toward that of an experienced engineer, and had an almost feminine quality to it.
"Power fluctuations all across the board... warp engines down... only partial impulse power left... three hundred hull microfractures... life support offline, except for the bridge and Deck Seven... weapons gone... shields gone... EPS relays are badly damaged... EPS conduit rupture on Deck Twenty-One... Minimum two month repair time..."
He pondered over the data, and looked over the warp core diagnostics, praying silently that they were still okay, or else they'd have to get themselves out of there FAST.
"Good..." he sighed with relief. "...they got the warp core shut down fully... With this much damage, it would've had to be an emergency core shutdown..."
He stepped away from the console rather quickly, on the off-chance it might be the next one to explode near him, and then he turned toward Kefira.
"Let's go, cadet... I don't know about you, but I've had more than my fair share of close calls with exploding consoles for one day... It's also bringing back some unpleasant memories...
Do you remember where you saw that specter?" he asked as he stepped toward the turbolift, and this time, he scanned it with his tricorder to make sure it was still safe.
He thought for a moment about something, as he still saw a bit of a glare from the aftermath of that last explosion, and then spoke up again.
"Captain... do you think the quartermaster could be 'persuaded' to outfit the helmets with something akin to a form of eyewear for extra bright conditions?"

Hearing the Captain he listened closely til Captain Grab Foot of -Two Dawns was finished before he spoke. "Aye Captain I will get in it right away." Using Sign language and other hand movements, something Engineers just learned to do given the noisey places they often worked in, he was already telling his Cheif assistant what he needed done. "To get the proper result I will need to tie the Sensor array,"some would call it the sensor dome both were terms that applied, to the Warp engines. You might experience a slight shall we say "Hicup" in the power when We make the adjustment sir ======= After closing the Channel he quickly went to his Office His most experienced Tehnicians were already there formating a plan as he entered.

He listened as the Engineering Chief explained that he would have to tie the sensors into the warp core for best results and there might be a power "hiccup" once the adjustments have been made
"Understood, Lt. We'll watch for the hiccup here on the bridge." He only hoped it wouldn't be that bug of a hiccup, as the Chief had phrased it
He turned his attention back to the view screen as Ijoula told him that he was indeed trying to be careful and cautious, that he had been in closer calls then what he just experienced. His whiskers twitched in humor. He was sure he had been. So had he, a couple exploding consoles were nothing compared to what he has been through "I would believe more the theory of the left over battle damage then your gremlins theory. No offense, Commander"
He listened as Crio done another damage report, his ears moving back and forth. He shook his head a little, not only from the extensive damage but from the tone of Ijoula's voice seemed to change a bit, to someone that has had a bit more experience and a female quality? No, impossible, he thought. I am hearing things. "That is one thing in our favor, that they managed to shut down the warp core. Or else we could be facing more of a problem. Namely a warp core breach"
Ijoula moved away from the console and turned to Kefira, speaking to her for a few moments then came back and asked if there was any possible way that the quartermaster could install into the EV Suits some form of eye wear protection "I am sure that can be arranged upon the Away team's return" He pondered for a brief moment that it didn't look that bright through his visor. Could he be suffering from eye damage from the last exploding console?

As he moved toward the turbolift, he pondered a few things.
"No offense taken, as I would agree on your theory as for the damage. That other thought was intended as an ongoing engineering joke for things which cannot immediately be explained or solved."
He looked around the bridge again and sighed at the damage evidence present.
"You must have read my mind with regards to the condition of their warp core. The risk of a core breach was weighing heavily on my mind, as was the need to get off this ship quickly if the core did go critical. Given the damage already sustained, and all the power fluctuations and surges, it wouldn't take much to destabilize the core, and would absolutely reek havoc on anti-matter containment." Again his tone reflected on Brexen's engineering experience and way of speaking, almost as if she were speaking through Crio.
He stepped into the lift with Kefira, and called for the deck they were at before they first entered the lift to go to the bridge.
"As for the eyewear request... If you've ever had a holo-imager's flash go off half a meter or closer to your face while aimed at you... That's what that last explosion reminded me of...
I should be okay, but when it's workable, I intend to get my vision tested. I'm probably overdue for it, anyway..."
He trailed off as he looked at his tricorder, and saw a brief blip on its tracking system. He looked as it showed up again briefly, and was gone, but in the same location as the first one.
