Winter, I didn't plan it like this, but I know from touching your mind how much you wanted a child. He sat on the bed next to her and put her head on his shoulder. I'm honored that you chose me to be the father and I'll be with you through this every step of the way, good and bad.

This is not how planed it Andy. I do want a family I thought it would be some time in the future perhaps my next pon farr. I thought the medication I had been taking would have prevented it. But it is illogical to think one could suppress the biology of reproduction. I am honored to be your wife and the mother of your child. She took his hand and kept her head on his shoulder.

He stroked her hair. Well, we may as well enjoy a quiet night together. Once 'junior' arrives we'll have very little of those. He suddenly stiffened. "Can you...hear him now?"

She stepped of the shuttle and handed her Orders PADD to a Security Officer. He nodded and handed it back. She walked toward the TL noticing people staring at a Terran gal carrying a Bat'leth on her shoulder.
The Bat'leth of course had been a gift from DelKara. It had been Del's sisters and to earn it she had to fight Del and bring first blood so she carried it with great pride.
Entering the TL she went to see the quarter master to get her uniforms and her quarters.Once she had everything she needed she went to her quarters. She hung the Bat'leth on the wall. She walked into her sleeping quarters and put her clothes and uniforms up.
She stepped into the bath room and took a hot shower. After wards she dried off put on a fresh uniform and fixed her hair the way she liked to wear it.She sat on her bed impressed by the new Pegasus but thinking about the old one as well it held many good memories.
Seeing her shift had just ended she decided to take a look at Nine Forward maybe she would see someone she knew there.

Being dismissed from the bridge after her full duty rotation was put in for the day was a blessing this day as she was looking forward to being away from the others for a while. Sure that the first impression that she gave them wasn’t favorable and put too much attention on herself she was just looking forward to being alone with the things that reminded her of home. Michael had been assigned his own quarters on another part of the ship far away from her as though to try and foster the new found duties in them both as being the priority and not to have them slip back into familiar patterns.
Even though it was for the best she resented it to some degree that she wouldn’t have the self control to tell him to go and leave her be when he was being too much of a bother. Almost a scowl came across her face as she tapped in the security code to her quarters to unlock them. The code worked the first time and she entered letting the door slide shut behind her. Looking around she relaxed a little and her face smoothed out to show an impassively, almost Vulcan, like neutrality to it. Her things were in order as they were on her previous assignment and everything was in its place. She didn’t have much and left detail instructions as to how to place the boxes before she went to her first duty rotation.
Seeing as this was now the third one she was supposes to attend understandably everything had been laid out by her two hands and her children were away on their schooling on the home world. Thankfully their very powerful Romulan uncle was hosting them and able to protect them from whatever scorn they may receive being only half Romulan. She thought fondly of them for a moment but then shook her head realizing she had been standing in the door way all along. She moved to the couch and picked up a padd she had been reading to start once more to read it settling into her now not so stressful life.

Andy was not one to visit the quarters of crewmen at random. He was the Executive Officer of the flagship of the fleet, and by his recollection a darn good one. Yes, this was way out of 'the norm' for him but he needed to find out more about this person. There was something going on, and until he could talk to the General he would like to know something. He was still mumbling to himself when he found her quarters. The proximity alert was activated by the sound of his voice. There apparently was no turning back now.

She heard the chimes and thought to herself that this could be interesting. Having changed out of her uniform she was ready to greet whoever in her normal manner. Going to the door she stood in it and the door responded to her by opening to the corridor. That was when she saw who it was and nodded a greeting, “Hello Lt. Colonel Shackleford. I take it there is a reason you are here.” She stepped to one side to let him in just encase he wanted to come in and talk in a more privet setting then in the corridor.

Andy wasn't sure if he was being invited in or ushered into the room. He walked in giving a nod of thanks. He noticed she was out of uniform and seemed to be wearing some sort of robe. "I"m sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt you meditation or the like."

“ You are not interrupting anything. I don’t meditate that is only Vulcans who do that daily. I was just reading something that can wait.” She let the door slide shut and moved with him as he moved into the room letting him choose how far he wanted to go in and what he wanted to do. She was not accustom to humans like she once was. “ I take it you have something or some things on your mind that you are wishing to speak to me on or you wouldn’t be here.”

"Straight to the point," He grinned. "Awful Vulcan to me. I had mentioned wishing a private follow up with you." He noticed her neutral stance. If she was going to allow him to lead he would. He walked all the way in and sat down at a nearby table." If you have the time?"

Following him she sat down across from him at the table, “ I have the time now that my ambassadorial duties are at an end and I am on the journey of military life again. Much simpler and not so secretive. As for my straightforwardness, it is something I acquired in the last place I was deployed at and I find it most helpful when disciplining the children.” She smiled at him, “I do recall you speaking your mind on the subject, but I doubt you’ll find what you are looking for.”

And what is it that I'm looking for? He said crossing his leg.

She looks at him levelly, “No idea. You’re not easy to read like most of your kind which means you have discipline in your life. Will be good to have this conversation with you about things, and it will be most interesting.”

Since you are new to the ship, how about some background about you and your former job as ambassador? He proposed. We'll even do it negotiation style. You get to ask me a question then I get to ask you one, fair?[/b]
