48 years is enough for me Andy It is as you said I have lost taste or nerve for the job. She put her head and his chest. I hope you don't think less of me for being weak....

He pulled her back so he could look her in the face. I don't think less of for no longer wishing the life of a soldier. Its not for everyone, and the day I decide to join up, my dad spent the entire night talking to me about it. The part that concerns me, is that you carried these things for decades and now deciding to quit that much later is puzzling. I don't begrudge you the chance to try to atone for the things you've done. I just feel there is still something even more personal that you are not telling me, not even in the meld.

She looks to Andy. There is another reason for me giving up my post...I have a medical condition. While I was Vulcan I was examined and it was confirmed. I have been waiting for the appropriate time to tell you.

What condition? Is it Pon farr or something more serious and if so why are you here and not in sickbay?

She raised an eye brow. Pon farr did play a part and it is nothing that requires me to be in sick bay at the present time. I am carrying your child. She waited for his reaction

Andy stops in mid speech and his heart start to pump fast enough for him to count the rhythm. He takes a deep breath and lets himself calm down. To be honest, I don't know how I feel. I know that we had talked about this but I always thought it was going to be further in the future. I just wish I had the right thing to say, but right now I'm not sure what that is.

She took his hand. Our future has come sooner than we expected. We are both in a unfamiliar situation. I have never had a child I am unsure of how to proceed.

I'm just trying to figure out how to tell my parents who have never met you that they are about to be grandparents. He stops. I don't even know if Vulcan's carry the same term as humans. This going to be not only new but something I haven't even read or heard about.

Vulcan pregnancy terms closely parallel those of other known humanoid beings. I must admit I am some what apprehensive...... I can assume your parents may be surprised when you inform them? She looked at Andy trying to read his face to see how he felt about this.

Its going to take a while to get used to but over all I'm happy, and if its something that you wanted I'm even happier. He kissed her. I think we better hold off telling my parents though. He smiles. If my mom finds out that you've resigned she'll insist on you coming to Florida to have her grandchild. Besides, we're already going to hear it. In for a penny, in for a pound you know?

She raised an eyebrow. In for a penny, in for a pound? A human Idiom I believe. If something is worth doing then it is a case of in for a penny, in for a pound, which means that when gambling or taking a chance, you might as well go the whole way and take all the risks, not just some. A very interesting way of summarizing our situation She looked in to his eye's. I am happy to be carrying your child. She knew there were risks and accepted them.

You're cute, He smiled. It just means that if I'm in trouble with them for one thing might as well be for another. I'm happy to be the father of your children also Winter, but I have lots of questions. How far along are you? Do you already know if its a boy or a girl, and how are you feeling?

She had a little smile on her face. I am 3 month's your son is healthy and developing normally. But I must be regularly checked be the doctor to make sure no complications arise. I am feeling fine aside from the occasional emotional laps.

I'd almost hoped for a daughter so I could name her 'Autumn'. He smiled. But a son will be welcomed. Is being in the bar on your feet all day going to be manageable?

She grins, Well after our son is born and when I reach pon farr again we could always try again. I will be able to sit behind the bar if I am not able to then I will settle for doing some reading in our quarters.
