Heading for the Colony.

She pushed her humor to the back burner as he grew more serious, expained why he didn't want to do anything in danger to get her pregnant before they wed "I would hope that no one would question the reason why we chose to marry but if they did, I would tell them the truth, that we love each ther dearly and want to spend the rest of our lives together. Our child would be the fruit of that love. Not because of the false idea that you suddenly got me pregant then decided to marry. That sounds like getting married is more of an obligation then out of love" She frowned a little at that. She could see the upper half of his body was uncovered but her eyes were focused on his eyes "It's quite alright, Cerius. You're stating how you feel. I want to know how you feel about things or what is bothering you, especially when it concerns me. I want to ease your pain/burdens not add to them."

I know...you wouldn't have even chosen to start this if you thought in anyway you would but me in a place that was worse off then the one I was already in. He smiled at her before breaking out in a cough that spired him to turn away from her towards the wall so not to cough on her.

After a few moments his cough calmed and he was able to speak to her again, so he turned back around to face her. As much as I would love to lay here all day with you I need to get up and get something to drink before I start hacking again. So, if you wouldn't mind closing your eyes for a few moment so I can put some pants on I would be greatful. He kissed her softly as if to sweeten his request to her, but also just because he loved being close to her.

With the passage of time in the mess hall being silent for a while only the sound of people eating and milling about the group that was gathered off to one corner of the room could be heard Ivan desided to break the silence by opening up a new topic of discussion since the old one seamed to have died off.

Anyone been anywere interesting before they desided to join up on this colonly planting assignement? Would like to hear about it just to get to know one another a bit. Never know when that knowlage might come in handy down there.

She nods in agreement, smiling back at him. No, she wouldn't want to put him in a position where he would be worse off, no matter the situation. She would rather give up what she worked so hard to get: her career then to put anymore burden on him then what is necessary

Her smile disappeared, a look of concern replacing it as he went into a coughing fit. She reached out to him, but he turned away from her, presumably to keep from coughing on her. She wondered if he would need to get medical attention for that cough

Deciding to get some water, or something to drink, to sooth his dry thought, she started to get up but paused as he turned back and spoke to her. She smiled again, especially when he kissed her, after he requesting that she close her eyes so he could get up and get some pants on "Of course, I don't mind. I know how you value your privacy" With that she closed her eyes and turned her back to him as she sat on the edge of her side of the bed. For a brief moment, she got the urge to peek, but she ignored that urge as it wouldn't be proper for a woman to do such a thing

Perking up at Ivan's question,"Well Ivan now that you asked I can say I have lived a fairly exciting life.I started as a kid really my parents own Jupitite Freighters.I am sure you have heard of them they are the eighth largest private freighter business out there.'


"Well my parents always thought I would take over the business.You know the administrative side.But even as a teenager I hung around with the fighter pilots we hired.By 16 I could fly an old gull fighter as good as anybody else."

"I was pretty much disowned by my family when I joined
Star Fleet marines.I was Top Gun in my class and found it a real blast flying state of the art fighters.I served two years on the Tarawa."

"My strangest and deadliest mission was when Vulcan High command trying out a new type of warp engine blew a hole in the space time continuum.Well out of the hole came aliens in a ship that could match the Tarawa.I went out on a Recon mission only to be captured.Major Sandra Iverson was captured as well"

"Well needless to say we were tortured by the ugly mugs because they thought we were with some coalition.Any how I escaped and got a hold of a hand held plasma cannon.I fired it into their Main Engineering and Sandy and just made it out."

"The aliens sad to say blew themselves up because they could not trust us.Then Zar and I got serious fast but it could not work so I resigned and joined Artifacts INC.Thats my story in a nut shell.Interesting enough."

He got up leaving the blankets on the bed and going to get his pants. Pulling them on quickly he got a bottle of water and sat on the bed that was across the cabben from the bed that she was sitting on. It's alrigh you can open your eyes now. I'm getting a drink of water so I don't cough all over the place.He was smiling when he said that knowing that she would possibly be making a request of him.

Very much intersting way to come about being apart of the colony, but I am glad you were able to find a home here.He put a hand on his shoulder and squeezed before placing his hand back in his lap looking around the table to see if anyone else had anything they wanted to share or add.

She felt the bed shift as Cerius got up to go get some pants on. She turned her head slightly, her ears picking up the soft footfall and the rustling of his pants as he got them on

She heard him say it was safe for her t open her eyes again, and she did, sending a smile over toward him as he sat on the other bed in the cabin. She wondered why he would be way across the room

She dismissed that thought and got up to starts some stretching exercises "I hope you don't mind" She asked of Cerius "If something should happen and I need to give chase, I don't need to cramp up in the middle of said chase."

He had to laugh at that because the room wasn't really tha big,Very well but don't mind me just sitting here and watching. That is unless you request me to do otherwise.

She didn't need much room to stretch and wake up her muscles. She smiled again, hearing his laugh, then she looked thoughtful as she used the wall for support while she stretched out one knee, then the other . She looked a bit thoughtful when he commented about requesting him to do something "I can't think of anything to request of you, but I will not stop you if you wish to sit and watch me."

He groaned and lay down his back towards the room facing the wall streaching a bit in his own way. I'll give you privacy. He then yawned, Least I can do after all the taking care of me you did while I couldn't take care of myself.

She lifted her arms and stretched as much as she could towards the ceiling, feeling the muscles in her arms and her sides stretching out to their limit. She looked over at Cerius, who was facing the far wall and started his own stretching exercises "I should be giving you privacy, Cerius, since this is your and Ivan's room" She then bent at the waist and swung her right arm down to touch her left foot, doing the same for the left arm, touching her right foot "It is only my pleasure to take care of the man I hope to spend the rest of my life with when you're not feeling well. Isn't that a wife's... duty to take of the man she loves and her family?" She didn't like using the word 'duty' but she couldn't think of a better word

She looked at Kelly,Chase and Ivan."Well Kelly I have never had nearly as harrowing as an experience as that."


Taking a sip of her coffee,"I guess my claim to fame would be on a dig site on a dead planet named Arctus IV.I found hieroglyphics that were a 97% match to the first Egyptians.It does not sound like much but it helps prove that an ancient race did come to Earth and move humans throughout the galaxy."

"I know its not very glamorous but its my but its all I have unless you want to hear about my lousy ex fiance."She turned a little red feeling a tad embarrassed telling a story which many would probably find boring.

After a few moments thought, "I haven't done much. Went to college where I meet the one responsible for me being here. After starting communications on 2 other colonies for Artifacts, things got real serious between me and Emma. She was the one who wanted to come, saying she had never left Earth and well." he sighed "Being who I am I came. Well, she backed out on the day of the deadline where you could back out of the contract, I just found out she did from my brother. And well here I am."

"Like I said not an exciting life by a long shot, but I guess one most of us have. I'm hoping after I get communications up and running my request for a department change, will be approved. Ya never know with Artifacts, but sometimes they do."[/b]
