Just as she was about to reach the boarding gate when she caught a glimpse of the colony transport ship the USS Mercury. "Ivan did you see the Mercury shes a grand ship."  She gave him one last smile before stepping onto the passenger boarding area. "Here we go. To the dreams we have and the reality we will make." She showed her boarding pass to the guard. He must have sensed or seen her anxiety for the brief moment it showed. He smiled at her. "Safe journey to your new home." Ivan looked out where she was looking to see the ship that would carry them to their new home."Yes she is beautiful. However, the most prettyist women in the galxy is standing right here with me now. Promasses to be an interesting jounrey." He then let Skye go infront of him to board. He followed her lead so to speak in showing the man his pass and the man told him where to stoe the duffles. He noded at the instructions and borded the ship Cerius was not far behind him.

After finishing up her quick message to her parents, Hitomi found herself pausing a moment, trying to catch her breath and thoughts. This was it, there was no going back now. It was a both a hard concept to take and an easy one to feel both excited and anxious about.
"I'm ready, let's get this adventure going." She offered a smile to Ravin. "Before any second thoughts sneak in."

My sentiments exactly. And please, let me help you carry something. I didn't bring all that much, just the essentials. I can always send for things from home if I get off my Henry David Thoreau kick I've put myself on.

She took Troys hand "I'm so glad I'll be doing this with you in my life" she then enters and stows her stuff in her quarters, then takes her seat

After sending his message to his aunt and Unle on Earth, he walked with Sara, Beth and Kayla to the Mercury and boarded
"Aye. With you by my side, It'll make this trip, and my life, much more special" he said to Sara as he walked with her to the ship
He stopped by his quarters and put his duffel in there then went to go take his seat, making sure Kayla and Beth were seated as well
As he took his seat, he leaned over and gave Sara a tender kiss, then pulled back with a grin "If I haven't said so already, love. I love your kisses"

Cerius was waundering around the ship when he saw someone. The man looked like he was just looking around like he was. Hello, hope I'm not being too bold in comming up like this. Saw you helping the old lady thought I'ed say hello. My name is Cerius my twin is running around here somewhere probally with a lady friend. Anyways, going to be spending 15 days on this tug boat. Hope you're not a man scared of small places. Cerisus laughed, I'm not that's for sure!

Immediatly a blush started at the top of her head and worked it's way down with all the hot and embarissed feeling that came with it. She had always been very studious in school, so had not really gone into the dating scene. "Oh! You're too kind." She smiled behind the blush that she was sure made her bright red. This might be both a good voyage or a bad one.. situations like surgery she could handle without getting ill, anything resembling romance was still unexplored space. |

This is a double post between Skye Logan and Ivan T. Remises done in IM and edited by Skye
She held her boarding pass in her hand after entering the Mercury. It was exchanged for a different quarters assignment. As a company employee of Artifacts, Inc, she got no perks or special treatment. Instead of being shown to her quarters she was given the deck number and room number. Then left to her own devices. Her new assignment for quarters were given at the last minute. She was bumped from the one she had, to one she shared with another Artifacts employee.
While she was looking at it, Ivan started to talk to the new male member of the colony.
Smiling at Ivan, "I need to find my quarters they be changed at the last minute. Seems I been bumped for a paying passenger."
Cerius was talking with one of the passengers and Ivan was kind of spacing out when he heard what Skye had to say. Ivan looked at Skye, in somewhat of a state of shock, " I thought you were a paying passenger Skye?"
"I might have forgotten to say, that I work for Artifacts Inc. I am one of the few who do. The company is determined that this colony will thrive, and will have someone here who will do what I can. To increase the chances of having ample food stores, they know you'll replicated food but they want a partial investment in agriculture. Not just for profit but in case something goes wrong with the replicators.
"They are hoping for the rumored store of alien artifacts from a previous race is there. That is the reason behind this venture for them. But they know it could be false so they felt a thriving colony would help to diminish any loss they incur. Since they would have first call on anything found."
"What they might not realize is that for me this is not just a job assignment. I will remain on Thales and if they tell me to return, I will quit. I signed no contract other then the standard and made sure the going home at their beck and call was left out."
"Ivan I could never have afforded this on my own, Angus and I, had we married would have done it together. But with his death," she looked down for a moment and then back at him. "this became the only way I could do this."
Ivan listened to what she had to say about her arrangement of what was going on, how she got assigned to the colony and who she worked for. He didn't say anything for a while, it was alot at once and he had to collect himself. But when he did spoke he spoke directly from his heart.
"If this was the only way you could make it Skye I understand. I'm just happy you are here and that you are going to be here on your own accord wether or not you are employed by the company who is financing this adventure. I know now they are paying you to be here and paying you to make this thing work, but none the less you are here. That too me is what matters at the end of the day. You are going to sink or swim with the rest of us."
He had to look down at the floor for a moment before continuing, "Me and Cerius almost didn't make it here. Had to have our family pitch in to do this. I had an injury occur before I left for here. Often times we are brought to a situation by different means to learn from that experience. I know you are going to invest yourself in the colony and try to make this work not only because you want to but because you are being paid to for the moment. That really doesn't matter to me. I'm sorry for your loss...I had no idea your heart belonged to another. If you wish just to be friends with me I will understand and be there for you. I care about you Skye too much to force myself on you. I'm a simple herdsmen I tend to look for the best in people and hold onto it and I think I'm right in saying what I am about your intentions that despite being paid to be here you'll make this work and invest yourself and your heart in this."
"Aye that I will. Partly because it is my job, and I take that serious. In memory of Angus I will work a wee bit harder. And finally, this will be my new home. I will not leave and my lawyer back home made sure of it. My work contract is very specific on that. However, and this is the point they made sure they got. In the event I find something they want for the first 15 years I'm there, and should I decide to stay I must surrender it to them."
"At first, I didn't want to agree to it. But as my lawyer pointed out the cost of bringing me here, the final training I needed, and the personal want of fulfilling my dream was well worth the concession. So that is how I came here. Unlike you my family would not help me. They didn't want me to go and that was their way of putting the reins on it. But I found another way."
"And for your place in my heart and mind." she smiled. "I care greatly for ya and want you with me. I canna promise what will happen in future. But as its stands Ivan you are stuck with me. And for Angus, I will never forget him."
"But and this I know Angus would not me to spend my life in mourning. He would be the first to say. Pull your self together and get on with women. I canna be with you and you need to spend you life alive not dead, now get going."
"So the rest is up to you Ivan. If you need time this is my quarters you can send word to me." her voice broke and her eyes watered. "So then, lets get on with this, adventure."
He didn't need time to think his mind was already made up. Without even thinking he took her in his arms and held onto her, "You're stuck with me too Skye. I gave up too much and have come too far to give up on you, or on this dream to make the colony work. If push comes to shove my family can buy out your contract. We got enough money." He had to laugh a little, "Got a small fortune in things that would interest them, and to me you would be worth it. For you are the most amazing women I have met, and I plan on spending sometime making you very happy. Very, very happy. That is if that is agreeable for you."
She held him tightly. "Aye, it is. But I canna make any promise to move past were we are." she needed to be honest with him.
"That's OK with me. Right now the only things that are important in my life are you and the horses. The rest of it will either come later or it won't. I'm not one to force the future to form to my wishes when the reality is I don't have it all planed out yet, so I just go with the flow of things. So, your stuck with me being protective of you Skye." He laughed a little, "I'm stubborn like that."
"You've not see stubborn until a Scot has shown it to ya." she laughed. "I best find my quarters, before my room mate takes the best bed. I'll see ya in a hr or so. You canna come with me, no one but Artifacts employees are allowed on that deck."
"Well then I guess its settled." He let go of her kissing her on her forehead. "I'll go stow my stuff away and find where I'm sleeping and will see you in an hour." He kissed her hand, bowed and then left to go find out where he would be sleeping at.
She took her duffle bag and slinging it over her shoulder she walked off, after smiling at him. Then she walked over to a crewmen and he pointed the way to her deck.

Ravin could see her blush through her soft, pale skin. He felt bad, knowing he had been a bit forward. But he had a natural charm that many back home responded to, and it made him a good leader.
He had also studied a good bit of Earth History, since his Father was Terran. He had found himself somewhat fascinated woith Earth's Asian continent. He knew by her name that she was of Japanese descent. He remembered even as a boy, looking at pictures and Holos of Japan. When he first saw pictures of Japanese women, He thought they were some of most beautiful women he'd ever seen.
A chill went up his spine wehn he first saw those pictures. He felt that exact same chill when he first saw Dr Yamazaki.
He now remembered that many women from that continent were very shy and reserved. He hoped he wasn't puting the Doctor off with his friendliness and thought he'd better try and do some repair work here.
As the left the Office, they started down the corridor.
"Dr Yamazaki, He began Please forgive me for appearing to be too forward. I see that I've embarrased you, and I apologize."
"When I came on staion, here, I introduced myself around. we seem to have a wonderful group of people here, But everyone was in their respective groups of socializing. I'm simply not that great at just jumping in to conversations in large groups, so I kept a bit to myself, looking over my agendas and such, and then you appear. I simply saw what appears to me to be an inteligent, articualte woman. After a long, solitary flight out here, I'm afraid I'm guilty of being a little starved for some good conversation."
"I would never think to impose anything else of you, especially considering we just met."
And he was being truthful. yes, she was pretty, and of course he was somewhat enamored with the Dr., Being the First Asian he had ever met in person. Eminians as a rule spent years slowly cultivating lasting, trusting relationships, unlike Terrans who move far more quickly and agressively. Ravin simply felt, for some reason, that this was a person he could talk to, and trust.

Just then Ivan walked up to stand besides Cerisus. Ivan gave him a good tap on the shoulder. Cerius looked to him, Ivan this is Jeffrey Hunter. He was just asking if I get into truble when you do. Cerisus looked back at Jeffrey and Ivan responded to the question. That would imply I get into truble in the first place. I don't. I can't the blood of a pharo runs though the vains of my family. Because of honor and tradition I don't get into truble. But you did get thrown into the brige because I was being raskel on a space station and you were just trading with another person at the sametime. Cerisus laughted, That was one of the best fights we had in a long while. I think you got two times better with your hands that day. A man does alot of things when he's upset. Can't wait until we are out of spaceships would be good to get a good brawl in with you. Ivan just shook his head. Cerius laughted hard and long after saying that.
