Watching her, his eyes soft in the lighting, he smiles a rare full smile at her.
"I'll always be glad to sit with you." He picks up the beer left on the table for him, and moves over to the couch. Sitting close, and draping his arm along the back, his hand flopping down to brush her shoulder.
"This is my idea of the doorway to heaven."

"Is it? Computer lower lighting to 3 candles, and play a selection of ballads from the late 20th century."
Snuggling against him she sat listening to the music and his heart beat.

Leaning back into the back of the couch, he allows his hand to linger on her shoulder, then shifts a little, dangling down a little further, tilting his head over to cup her head in the crook of his neck.
Muttering in a low voice, just for her ears, "Now I know I've passed the gates to paradise. What have I done to deserve this?"
His heart beat is complemented by a soft chuckle resonating in his chest.

Seeing her eyes have closed, and she had fallen asleep, he eases himself off of the couch, then her into a more comfortable position stretched out on the cushions.
"Sleep well, Deb." he whispers, before turning and exiting her quarters, and returning to his own.

Waking the next morning, he hears the incessant chirp of a waiting message. Rolling over bleary eyed, he looks at the vid screen, wondering who would be calling him this early in the morning.
"Shut up." He calls out, pulling his feet over the edge of the rumpled bedding. When the chirping doesn't stop, he manages to sort out in his mind that it must be from someone rather important. Not bothering to make himself presentable, he stumbles over to the screen, scrubbing at his face one handed, and scratching at his overnight stubble he looks at the message cue. Seeing it was from Deb, he thinks briefly about leaving it, and just returning to sleep for another few hours, but decides to listen to it.
When he hears her voice, he begins to feel a little better. Almost like he'd had a mug or two of good coffee, and his mind begins to wake up. Knowing he will answer, and not wanting to frighten her away with his appearance first thing in the morning, he makes quick use of the sonic shower and facilities, returning to the panel still with a case of bed-head.
Smiling, he records and sends the message back, that he would be glad to join her for dinner that evening.

Drinking a glass of Uttaberry wine to relax, he set the glass aside when he finished then began getting ready for bed. He started stripping out of his uniform, when he felt like somebody slapped him in the head and he nearly stumbled into a wall before catching himself
Nobody else was in the room but he knew the cause of the feeling. Telepathic images and feelings were coming into his mind. The mind was familiar. It was Lizzy and she is having a nightmare of what had happened to her. He winced as an old style medical syringe was inserted into her arm. He visably blanched when a finger was cut off and paled when she remembered them coming at her with a saw, their intent very clear
He tossed a mental shield up before he could see any more, guilt also rising with it. He felt guilty for not being able to help her more then he did, but who could he tell. He is the counselor. As he re-dressed, he wondered who counsels the counselor?
Exiting his quarters he quickly walked down the hall to Lizzy's quarters. As he approached, he heard her screaming and he doubled his pace, neary running. He presumed she wouldn't hear the door chime when he rang it so he did the next best thing "Computer, medical override on Ensign Cooper's quarters, Authorization 237208."
As the doors slid open, he winced as her screams came to his ears in louder volume. He entered and went straight to her bedroom, entering, and seeing her in a fetal position, noting her artificail arm on the stand next to the bed. He moved over to the bed, sitting down and pulling her into his arms, holding her until the shock of the dream, and the realization that she was missing an arm, subsided

She felt her self being pulled into someones arms, she fought at first tell she saw it was Eric.
As he held her, her fears slowly faded a way, she looked at Eric her eyes red from crying, tracks of her tears were on her face.
"Night Mare" She says horsely as she lays her head on his chest, while he held her "Don't let me go......I feel so safe in your arms" she says in a pleading tone.
She sniffs "I must look like a mess........I thought I could handle this alone but I can't" she wipes her eyes with her hand

She resisted being pulled into his arms so he stopped pulling. He assured her that she is safe and it's only him. She looked at him, recognition shown in her eyes. He could see that they red and puffed from crying, tear tracks going down both sides of her face
As she lay her head on his chest, she informed him she had a nightmare "I know" He told her. "I saw some of the images you were experiencing." He said, trying to keep the guilt he felt out of his voice, putting his arms around her more to help her feel safe and to assure himself that she is alright
He listened to her last comments and he chuckles slightly "Yes, you do look a mess but that it only natural after crying and experiencing a traumatic event. With this type of injury, it is very hard, for anyone, to handle it alone. Which is why I am here, to help you deal with the mental and emotional stress to you losing your arm and adjusting to the prosthetic arm." Plus he just wanted to hold her and assure her that she is safe, comfort her in his arms
