I all about career too. He smiled to put her at ease. But to be a good leader you have to be just a willing to take your 'play time' like everyone else. I'm mean all work and no play makes Kaine a dull Colonel so to speak.

"Your right I think I am getting dull at this job. When I was a fighter pilot I had enough excitement guess thats why I never had much of a social life. Have you ever been on a Curry class carrier?"

I never served on one, but I did a refit on one about a year ago. Very impressive ship. He smiled. I like this one better though.

She smiles. " Well by far the Tarawa out classes the old Curry class. I vas on the Monitor it was the 4 one built so you can imagine it did not have the comfort the newer ships do. Ve did not even have our own quarters the fighter pilots slept together in a squad bay. even our showers were co-ed so you could not really be modest."

It was much the same way on the MCE ships. We only had as much room as we needed. He takes a moment to think. But you don't strike me as a modest woman. Neither do you strike me as passive. I must say a co-ed shower would not seem an unpleasant thing. I kno I would have been rebuked a long time ago.I know that I'm being bold, but I feel if you were uninterested He decides not to press the issue. You told me you were headed for the gym. Typically do you work out with cardio training or free weights?

Let's just say you are a beautiful woman, so I'm not going to waste you time telling you something you already know. He smiled knowing she was now fishing. However, I'm due fora workout myself. I might be willing to 'spot' you while we find out if there more to each of us than meets the eye.

She blushed and then said. "I do not mind if you waste my time." She chuckled and then smiled. "Very well Captain I could use a work out partner. Do you need to change?"

She smiled and laughed something she felt she had not done in a long time. She stood up from the table. " Alright lets go to the gym."

There was sometime before he was due back in engineering he thought to him self he get a bite to eat. He got a cheeseburger and some french fries some thing his old friend introduced him to. He took a seat and got ready to eat he opened some ketchup and started to drown his fries in it.

Marc had enough of discussions about relationships and tactics. He didn't want to go back to the Hanger deck just yet so he came to the mess hall. He decided on a bowl of clam chowder and water. It was a light lunch but would hold off thinking o food later.

There'd be plenty of time to set up. Not much was needed. Nemi didn't run her office like a storage space with books and research materials strewn all over. She also knew that it would be a waste of time for her to sit and wait for anyone to come to her. There was a stigma attached to Counselors. Seeing a counselor assumes there is something wrong with you and no one wanted to be viewed as anything but 100%. Instead Nemi preferred to see and be seen. Drop in on the Hangar Deck perhaps or the Bridge and begin to get a sense of the officers and crew. At the moment though, she was hungry. So why not start with lunch and a quick perusal of the Mess Hall?
The doors opened as several crewmen exited and she smelled something delicious. Her stomach rumbled. Ok, I get the hint. It was fairly crowded inside. Nemi picked up a tray and served herself from the buffet. Green salad. Roast lamb and cous cous. Honey cake for dessert. She looked around for a place to sit. Here as with most groups, she noticed, departments tended to segregate themselves. Technically she would be considered Medical but she didn't want to set a bad precedent and appear to be choosing one group over another.
She noticed one officer had chosen to sit away from the usually boisterous group of pilots and he looked like he had something on his mind. "May I join your table lieutenant?"
