She looked back to the flight deck. " Am I that transparent? Maybe the Admiral was right about me. Welcome to my pity party Captain."

The test is two fold. One is to test ones character agains unbeatable odds. The other is to make sure you don't freeze up under pressure. You made a decision out there. Whether it was the right one or the wrong one only history will tell. Fact is, that 90 percent of the officer in the fleet would have made any decision just followed orders. If only for that, you are ready to lead. But on top of everything else, you still cared enough to regret losing your men. Its okay to make a decision you are not happy with if you learn from it. Not allow it to bury you.

So did Kirk, Picard, Weslynes and Sisko. You are in good company. He smiles at her.

"Vell I thank you Captain I guess I should try to bring the crew's moral up. Its not good for crew moral if the CO looks like droopy the dog." She grins and stands up. " Care to walk with me to the gym?"

" Well I don't drink any coffee after mid-day but I'll drink a glass of grape juice with you." She waited for him to lead the way.

Marc has settled into a routine on Tarawa. it had already been disrupted by the death of a trusted crew member. He hadn't been able to say much since the night of the promotion banquet. The two of them had still seen each other but the duty of burying the dead and getting everyone on the flight deck to get back in step had taken all his time. He had been weeks making requests ad getting his flight deck sorted back out. He missed Ivey but he didn't want to press his suit too hard. She was a long way from healed it slower was better. He did however take every chance to see her like now. He finished his morning coffee and headed to her office to give her his 'vital reports', at least it was vital he hand them to her personally.

The doors open to the hanger bay as she walked in she looked around at all the activity. She asked a flight deck worker where the chief was. He pointed to a hanger maintenance office. She made her way there and rang the chime.
