"Its funny you ask," He looked inside the simulator. "I was working up my report for you. As you know when I reported in first day we were in mission so I hadn't been able to inspect things myself. After you talked of inspection I had been looking over all aspects of the Tarawa Flight Ops. I found the training programs used inadequate. I have pilots assigned to me after leave that are just out of academy. They haven't participated in 'Top gun' or 'Wiliam Tell'. I'm making the flight simulator programming more advanced and I'm asking some of my more experienced pilots like Smythe to help recalibrate them. So far its been going faster than expected. All of this is in the report I'm working up for you, but I'm glad you saw it first hand."

She nodded, "Excellent. We need to keep the pilots challenged. If you need help with the programing, the comupter department should be able to assist."

You kiddin me?" He smiles at her. Chief Patricowski is loving every minute of it. If I brought in your computer techs he'd be insulted, but thanks. He leads her over to the new craft. This is the new fighter brought in by fleet during our shore leave. I don't know how much testing they did but the had a hesitation before going to warp. Patricowski has been working on it since this morning and thinks he has the problem sussed. I've promised him that I' d test it at first opportunity. Ie when we get out of warp.

"No I wasn't kidding, but since this, what is his name again, Chief Patrcowki, is so good it would be a shame to take this away from him. So don't do it." during this entire time she has not smiled once or shown anything but interest in the inspection.

He walks to the Operations station. This is our ops station fighters are talked in, from here and trafficked in and out so that there are not collisions. This is my Flight controller. Her name is Sergeant Trina Hines. Best Controller in the fleet.

"Hello Sgt." She visually scanned the room noted a few small things not worthy of mention unless she was in a bad mood. And she wasn't. So far she was impressed.

Hello ma'am. The Sergeant nodded then went back to checking her monitors.
Moving on, We have our storage lockers for flight gear and survival kits as you can see we took time to organize them, but for the most part you've seen the highlights. Have a missed anything you might want to see Ma'am?

"Not at this time. Very good look forward to seeing your reports. I'll find a way to shake this deck up." A very slight smile was seen for a second.

He saluted her and watched her leave his eyes locked on her till she was out of sight. He could here the door slide and Bart walked next to him. "You know, I've seen Major Iverson do inspections on this flight deck many times. I never saw her smile at the end of one of them." Marc looked down and the Chief has a smirk on his face.
"Shut up Hedgehog or I'll bash your teeth in." He smiled as he said it. "You get back to work. There was an inspection and we passed that is what is important to you. The rest....well. That's classified."
The Chief nodded to, his work was the most important thing for him anyway. Marc on the other hand has plans of his own. he had some inspecting to do privately with the Major, besides he would have to bring her his report...personally.

She had went to her quarters to change to her gym clothing and was on her way to the gym but instead stopped at the hanger bay observation deck and took a seat and watched the flight crews work.

Jack spied the planes prepping and noticed the Colonel sitting there, but in her own universe. He wasn't sure if she wanted him or anyone else around, but at the same time his curiosity got the better of him. "Remembering simpler times or inspecting?" He knew this was breach of protocol, but it didnt' seem like the time for a formal salute.

She heard the Chief engineer and looked to him. "Remembering simpler times....Vhen you are a fighter pilot you know vhat has to be done." She sighed. " It's just not that easy anymore."
