" agreed the research notes tell me they found the device on an expedition and archeological research project deep in what is this ends tholian regions they are attempting to use this device to power an intergalactic blackhoel instant travel from one point in space to the other much like the bajorion worm hole though the rift stays open much longer than that and literally punchs a hole between thi and another version of our own universe apparently thusly there is no telling what war is happening there or what conflict the researchers are interfering with when they open that rift device. wish we would have had more time to study it harness its methodology well run those pictures to me at once for finalization and completion along with any scanner data you have collected

"Aye. Sir." she responded while downloading everything to her own console and forwarding it to Delor. "And Sir, I would like to bring Lieutenant Lang in on this for consultation." Deka concluded. "So far, his skills have proved an asset to this investigation."

" most fascinating good to have him aboard then " examining the incoming notes and pictures as they fade into reality and blur his still slightly hazy vision sitting back considering the last few hours and days of data gathering recieving all the needed departure data and telemetry.

Deka cut the comm and addressed the Engineer. "You heard?" She enquired. "I'd like you to take a look at the data collected and report on anything you find that you may have encountered before or have experience with."

(Medic or something would be fine with me. I'm much more of a lab person anyway. Thank you for being understanding.)
After her request to transfer was approved, Kyah heads down to sickbay. She had found that she enjoyed experiments and sickbay work much more than being on the bridge. She was looking forward to returning to a job that was more suited to her strengths and interests. She enters sickbay and looks around for the doctor.

Lang heard the Commander's response and knew for her that was supreme praise. "Thank you ma'am and I'd love to get my hands on that data if I could?"

Laren had been 'shooed ' away before, but this game between the XO and Lang had gone on long enough in her eyes. She was the Chief of Security on the ship and any matters that needed to be secured she needed to knwo about. She sat in the chair and thought. Her nose twitched unconciously. She licked her lips as her mood darkened and tapped her fingers unconciously on the arm of the command chair. The sound was a hollow tapping sound. Laren let her fingernails grow just long enough to tap.

The remaining ships in the Bajoran colony fleet had been uncharacteristically quiet while Trevious had finished repairs. There had been the standard requests for supplies or medical assistance but no demands for information. No one had taken the opportunity to politicize what had happened and use the loss of their fellow colonists to their advantage. Perhaps after seeing again the damage the nebula could inflict, they finally understood the gravity of the situation. Not that Deka herself disapproved of taking advantage of a situation, but you needed to choose the right time and place for such displays of personal ambition.
Deka heard the doors to Delor's ready room open and turned. While she'd been engaged with the science ship's specifics, the mousy Bajoran had once more perched herself in the Gul's chair. It was one thing for Tahlandi to claim command when neither she or Delor were on the bridge, but this time, she'd taken things a little too far.
"Include a review of bridge protocols and when it is or is not appropriate for a junior to assume command, lieutenant." Deka remarked as the security officer vacated the seat. "Aye, Sir.", she responded to Delor.", looking over the latest shift reports from Operations. "All ships have reported ready to go. I'll inform them to begin departure procedures."

Laren was deep in her thoughts when she heard both the Commander and Captain Delan address her. She leaped out of the seat like a cat who'd just had its tail stepped on. She was about to dart off to her security station she when she decided to screw her courage to the sticking place. She walked over to Commander Rekalan and stood at attention. Ma'am, I request a moment of your time. She said with a stone face.

"Sir, your secured channel is ready." She relayed to Delor before responding to the Security Chief.
"Make it quick, lieutenant." Deka watched the Operations board. "I'm sure I heard the Captain give you an order and as you might have noticed, we're awaiting the word for final clearance "

Which I have followed, She said before she could stop herself. Ma'am I will be happy to return to my station, but I feel that my status as a Junior officer is keeping me from doing my job fully. I am referring to the current mission. I feel I should be 'read into' it as it will be my job to keep information secure aboard ship, no disrepect to the talented Mr. Lang."

"It's a simple mission lieutenant. We escort the Bajoran colonists to their destination. The only complication seems to be a roving nebula attempting to compromise the safe completion of said mission. We are doing our best to avoid the nebula and it's accompanying issues and if that proves impossible, to learn to navigate within it safely. The Chief Engineer has skills that can assist in this."
Deka's voice took on a sarcastic edge.
"I'm sorry to hear that you think so little of our own abilities that you believe you aren't being told everything you need to know to do your job properly. I suggest your time would be better spent in concentrating on doing your job, rather than command's."

The reproach was apparent and Laren was sure that everyone on the bridge had heard it. She gripped the PADD in her hands and could feels her palms sweat. Her mouth opened as if she were going to say something then closed. She thought for a moment. The only thought in her had became Lang, with his smug little grin, and before Laren could stop herself her Bajoran temper began to well. "Ma'am, with all due respect," She blurted out having gotten 'her back up'. I know that you are busy and so is the Chief, but the fact of the matter is that I am in charge of security. I do not want some 'Engineer' brilliant though he may be stepping on the security protocols I put in place. I know on Cardassia everyone has secrets, but on a Federation starship if each officer starts creating their own protocols as it suites them eventually command staff will get locked out of things they need to see. I'm not telling you anything that you don't know I'm sure, but I wanted you to know that I take my job serious whether you do or not. If you want to restrict my access you are the Executive Officer on this ship and I'll have to follow you orders, but if you are doing do it because you don't think I'm up to the task. Not because of a rank that was just given me. She waited for her escort to the brig.
