"Yes we outnumber the Federation crew. And you are among the first non Rihannsu on one of ships. It would be up to the one your interested in."

I see, and there are no exceptions to this rule?

"Of course there exceptions to every rule, tradition, or custom. Does it happen often, no. But then it is a matter of personal choice, don't you agree?"

Yes, but we Bajorans are bold when it comes to matters of the heart. He laughs softly. You might call of a warrior race in the heart also. I just didn't want that to be my undoing.

"I see. Rihannsu tend to handle such matters as personal and private. Should you have someone in mind, it is best to see where they stand on the matter."
She sipped her tea looking at him closely.

I haven't really got my eye on anyone yet, these are all hypothetical questions. I think before one asks such a personal question one should at least feel that the person they would asks has some interest of their own. Wouldn' that be prevelant? I mean their feelings about the matter notwithstanding, going against such a storng social system should be personal and come from a place deep inside you that gives you the strength to face such incredible odds becuase there would be great obstacles. So my feeling is whomever I would have such feelings for I should give them a chance to have them too. Then they can examine their own life and decide if its something thats worth fighting for. Until then its all theorectical right?

"If I understand you correctly, your asking if someone were interested in you would you know it? I think for a race what is warriors of the heart, you would know."
"Each of us are different and display our emotions differently so I can't say what she would do or how she may act."
"Your race is as steeped in tradition as we are, so you should understand the difficulties in breaking them. You make it sound more then it is with us. Why is that?"

My race has their traditions but most are intwined with religion. As for the rest, we are so scattered because of the occupation that this is for the most part a 'live and let live' attitude. The exceptions being the Cardassians. On the other hand, your peoople have a cirtain way to do everything including eating. I did notice that you ate yoor food sectionally. You value order so anyone who were to disrupt that order would have much resistance. Now it was he that looked into her eyes noticing that they had left the adversarial conversation and she was now in a mode of learning, but in a casual way. At least casual for her.

She laughed softly. "I eat this way because I enjoy each unique flavor. But since this is souffle the habit of, as you say, sectional eating remains."
"But on the subject of order, yes, it is important to me. Without order I can't be as effective in my job. Chaos, or a lack of order is counter productive to reason. Reason is paramount in my job performance."
"And since we are noticing things you were reluctant to taste the food. Even though you wanted and asked specifically for it. The items I choose were done to appease the eyes, nose, of someone unaccustomed to our food. And you choose to smell your food."
"You as well value order, but more importantly while exploring the unknown you desire the known." she smiled.

I commend you on your powers of observation. He smiled . I do smell my food its an awful habit I've had since I was a child. So you like order, that explains why you are not in a relationship. Another person can create discord and you lose some control.

She raised an eyebrow, and then laughed. Thinking for a moment she decided to indulge in this conversation to see where it lead.
"You are right I am not in a relationship at the moment. But unlike your analysis it has nothing to do with a feeling that order or balance might be lost. There are times when such disorder is welcomed and the challenge it poses is wanted. And then there are times when one wishes to center on their work."

Yes, I understand that concept and am currently living it. He stopped for a moment to think. I would like to know a bit more of the military protocols we discusssed earlier. I hate to ask all these questions at once but this is the first time Ive had a chance to ask anything and I dont' know when I'll get another chance. For instance, how familiar are you with our commander. I think several times I overstepped myself on the Oira I have a feeling I'm in her doghouse so to speak.

"I can assure you, if you were in her dog house as you call it. You would know. Our Riov is not one to overlook anything that would land you in a dog house. As a matter of fact, I can think of no Riov who would."
"It is easier if you ask, rather then leaving things blank. Which protocol are you referring to?"
"I know the Riov as you do. She is my commanding officer and has my loyalty. I don't know her personally and to be honest I don't need to."
