Yes, but you had a long enough career to know that every commanding oficer has their own way. Things they like or don't like being done. I volunteered to pilot and I think I offended the helm officer and the Riov. I thought voluteering meant just that I didn't thing there were protocols to it.

"Each of us will from time to time volunteer to do something we know we can do. The Riov will make note of that and if needed will choose who she thinks will accomplish the goal as she wants it done."
"She felt that she was uniquely qualified to do that this time. Maybe next time she will have you do something that will incorporate your ability. To be honest, I was displeased when when she took it on herself to do it. But as we see, she knew exactly what she wanted done and how to restore the order and balance that was disturbed."
"In the Federation doesn't this hold true that each Caption has their own way? Part of our journey as officers is to discover these things, adept and do what we can to help the Riov or Captain to achieve the goals or mission."

This is true, which is why I had asked the question. The time I feel most at home is at my station. The rest is the rest. I feel if I do my job well, then I'll survive. Just out of curiosity, what other species do you have here other than Rihannsu?

"We have a human Doctor, an Andorian who is the Ground Force Commanding officer, and a Vulcan. Those three are more prominant. Humans seem to have the most on this ship. We have accepted anyone who has been sent."

Well, at least I know I'm not completely alone. He smiles. I did think of another question. If I am to wear one of these 'Necca' what side is proper?

'Normally, its on the left side but thats because its the hand most of us favor. So it depends on you."

I'm left handed, so would say right side. He thought for a moment. I do have blade of my own it was given to me by a friend so if it is appropriate, I'll wear that.

She smiled slyly. "You listen more then most in the Federation. Its worn on the left side more out of a tradition."

More than I had even hoped, He got up long enough to get himself tea as he had watched how she selected it. I have total recall, I remember everything I see. He sat back down and took a sip. I hope that I can call on you again.

When you are off duty do we still address each other formally or do I call you by your given name. He asked. And don't tell me something like: 'We are never off duty'.
