I heard when you said that you know you goverment and trust in it, but lets not forget a few things. There has been a civil war of ch'Rihan also. I read about Shinzon and the Remans. I also have taken the liberty of reading what history your goverment has released about your people. My planet was occupied for long enough for me to only remember that. Its a shattered trust that makes me question, but the viligilence of a warrior who has defended his people in a way that no one ever should have to.

Listen I know its easy for someone who was born in a society that has trained them to believe that their way is not only superiror but the only way to believe that you are always safe, but the galaxy is littered with worlds who prospered for a long time and felt the same way. The Cardassains themselves are a prime example. They were once a proud conquering race themselves who I'm sure trusted their goverment. I dont distrust mine, but I have picked up the sword reluctantly in my lfietime and understand that even the best of intentions can have a bad result. Trust my goverment? Yes. Question my leaders? Always as is my duty and I would hope yours because your empire is larger than any one person as is my goverment but Rihannsu are no different than any other people. Power can corrupt, and its up to the vigilent warrior such as you and I to make sure we don't let that happen or we all weaken ourselves and our people.

"This wannabe thing is now dead, and its followers pay the price, for its actions. We made a mistake, never to be repeated again. We looked away for minute and the Remans proved why they are a sub species. They claim they are related to us only in their dreams."

Rihannsu were born in the face of conflict, thrown off our world by those who felt superior, after doing their dirty world protecting a planet from an invader. Put in sub standard ships, pre warp, a death sentence to be sure. We survived, we thrive. Do not tell me of a hostile universe I can tell you of one. We learned this way before your world. And you were not thrown off Bajor for saving her as we were."

"You were not disowned by an ungrateful race, then lied about to the universe. You see we had different backgrounds but we are united in more ways then you are willing to accept."

"You reluctantly pick up your sword to defend your world I gladly do so."

Here she stopped realizing she need to regain control a cord was stuck and it was deep.

I don't want to step on your reterict but the vulcan's tell a different story. You both had a philisophical difference in how you saw the universe. Your people felt the best way to protect yourselves was to proactively fight and the vulcan's have a peaceful philosophy. I even read a file where the Vulcan Spock risked his own safety to come here because he was lead to believe that there were Rihannsu that wished to return to the ways of Sarek.

I never said that I was hesitant to fight for me people, it is simply this: I prize life in all its shapes and forms. So taking a life rather I do it in defense of my people or not still goes against the basic principles. How many lives have you taken? I don't mean with a button but looking someone deep in their eyes as the light extinguishes. I've do so many times over so don't question my reluctance. He stops and grips his knive then slowly loosens his grip. I'm not here to question your people or thier ethics but to learn them. If I have offended I apologize.

"Of course the Vulcans story is the correct interruption." she attempted to smile. "And yes we are begging for them to return and make nice."

"Those who wish to return may do so. They have no chains on them. Poor Spock come to liberate a people not needing it.'

"How many have I killed looking them in eyes. I would estimate over several hundred while in ground forces. But of course unless the Vulcans verify that it isn't so."

"Excuse me I need more tea." She got up then returned with her tea.

I won't argue the point with you since I wasn't there as it was hundreds of years ago. No more than I can say who started the conflict between Cardassia in my people. I can only say that we didn't like the conditions. He notices that she is clearly upset now and decides that it would be better not to push the issue. Instead he gave her a warm smile.

I'm not trying to make a judgement on the Rihannsu or the way they do things only learn them. The only thing that I ask is that while I learn them and respect the ways you have on this ship and abide by your protocols that you respect mine and my people also. If this is going to work we both need to do that.

There's an old Klingoin saying 'History is written by the victors'. " I won't dispute your statemant as it is the history of your race. I again apologize for having offended you." Renn found he like this woman. Somehow they had walked a parallel path.

I am enjoying the quiet actually. The one thing I find aobut humans is that they lack calm. They are a noisey lot always wanting to converse or just throw things to amuse themselves. It is a welcomeed change to be on a ship where people are at peace with themselves and don't struggle insided so much.

She nodded, "I wouldn't know about that. I have never served on a Federation ship. And have no desire to."

"Our personal internal struggles are just that personal. We settle those in private. As I think you do."

Yes, and I can also see that you have them and do well to keep them private. I will respect that also. You must forgive and old soldier, but in the days of the resistance I discoveered the best way to learn about someone is to get a rise out of them. Anyone who lets their anger get the better of them has no place in a battle. I have found in our conversation that our temperments are similar. I think we both have quite a few interesting stories to tell about life and choices both good and bad.

"What other concerns do you have if any?"

My only concern now is that I have offended you. I would like to call on you again should I have any other questions.

"I am not personally offended by you. Nor am I that easy to offend. It is the lies concerning my people that offend me. As they would if it were you and your people."

"You may come to me anytime you need to talk." she smiled warmly.

I think my people have had many lies told abotu them too over the years of the resistance. He stops and thinks. I do have one question though: Is interspecies relationships frowned upon.

"Interspecies relationships, as a society we discourage it. Dating is allowed but if done, will be treminated if deep feelings begin. So casual dating has been done."

"Why do you ask? Are you attracted to anyone on the ship?"

Not at the moment, but I'm gong to be here for a while and I didn't want to commit some social blunder if I found myself attracted to a Rihannsu female. He had realize that he was no long hungry. You do realize the Rihannsu far outnumber we outsiders so the odds I might be attracted to one are fair.
