He steps up fully to greet his new Riov, lifting a balled fist to his chest and saluting
"Greetings, Riov. I am Terrh Sahen and I have been assigned as the Gonaiih'saehne (helm officer). It is an honor to serve you and this vessel and I shall do it with the best of my skills." His eyes hold the light of determination in them as he unsheathes his kalen from it's place on his belt. "I offer my kalen ( personal dagger ) and my life to you in service onboard this fine vessel" He would then wait for the Riov's response

T'meryl walked up the the door of the ready room, PADD in hand and ignoring the open stares of the Rihannsu crew members. She reaches out and presses the button to signal her presence.

Taking the new helmsman's neca (personal knife/dagger) he turns and goes back to his desk.
"I have reviewed your service records and they are exemplary. I see you have been taking bridge officers courses as well as your other specialties. In times when the executive officer and I are not on the bridge it will fall to you to maintain command. There is a holodeck program I have designed for my bridge officers. You are to complete it before I will give you that responsibility, however. You have a week to complete it with no less then 100 percent."
Hearing the door chime he instinctively says,
"Mayri (come)." and continues, "Now Terrh tell me what you feel is your greatest strength." As he waits he notices the others are staring in disbelief behind him. Slowly he turns and see a female Vulcan officer entering the room. The hairs on his arms stand up and a burning sensation comes to his face. With out hesitation he says, "Continue, Terrh."

T'meryl entered the room, feeling the tension from the others. She bowed slightly to the Riov, then stood at ease as he spoke to the others.

He remained where he was standing at, keeping his hands behind his back, remaining at attention as he listened to the others that were there, including a Terran who has become the Doctor on board the ship. Vrih would over hear the chime at the door and took note of who walked passed by him. Becoming taken back that there was a Vulcan on board; he almost gave a displeasing growl, but was able to keep it from being heard by anyone. Expect probably from the Vulcan, who no doubt have excellent hearing.
Rather or not if there is a Vulcan on board or not, he still made an oath of loyalty. Considering that this Vulcan is part of the crew, he would no choice to defend him when the time comes. It is part of his loyalty to the ship, Romulan Empire, the Riov, and to the crew. To keep his mind off the Vulcan, he would continue to listen to what the others have said.

S. Gale briefly glanced to see who entered. {{Hmmm.. a Vulcan... Interesting. I wonder what her story is. We'll find out soon enough, or at least the part she needs to tell us.}} She then brings her attention back to the Riov and the new helmsman. (OCC: Which uniform is the Vulcan wearing?)

His attention became sharper as the Riov took his neca"My greatest strength, Riov.. He asked in a combination comment/question, then he paused and glanced to the RR doors to see a Vulcan entering then turned back to his new Riov, gauging his reaction to the vulcan, a slight raise of his eyebrow would be his only reaction "..is to see people's reactions to different situations and act upon them, whether the outcome is good or bad. Hann'yyo, ( Thank you ) I will accept responsibilty for command of the ship when you and the executive officer are off the bridge and also if and when you two are injured in battle." He waited for the Riov's next comment/action

She listened to the Riov as he spoke to each of them. She was impressed by him, and reminded of her previous Riov. She could now see he adopted some of his traits, thus allowing her comfort zone to increase.
When the chime rang again she saw out of the corner of her eye a Vulcan woman enter. Wearing a Star Fleet uniform, she thought how very interesting this would become. A Terran and now a Vulcan on a D-class.
Since she was 3 and meet her name sake for the first time she dreamed of one day being on a D-class. Here, she had to prove her worth to be here and they were just assigned. Lucky was the only thing that come to mind. But did they know what an honor it was for a Rihannsu to be stationed on one.
She noticed the subtle difference in the Riov when the Vulcan entered. And she stiffened in reaction to it. Which was not unusual for her when her Riov was uncomfortable. Many not understanding her people saw that as fear on the contrary it was concern. She would watch the Vulcan when near the Riov.

Years of training rapidly take over and the Vulcan entrance is pushed aside in his mind to be dealt with later.
Staring intently at the gonaiih (helmsman) he continues,
"Then I trust your strength will guide you when you need to be in charge. I want you to be aware that being given this responsibility it can also be taken away in a moment.
Also,"looking deeply into his eyes and then back to his neca, " you are swearing this oath to me and the ship. I take your oath very serious and expect more from you then has been expected by any other Riov you have served under. I will be in-trusting this ship to you at times and that is a huge responsibility. You will study all aspects of Rihannsu culture and periodically I will drill you on these aspects. Do I make myself clear, gonaiih?"

Erie'Arrain Sahen reuturned the intense look his Riov gave him with the same intensity
"Ie, Rekkhai, Riov. I understand that the responsibilty of command can be taken away just as quickly." He listens intently as his Riov continues then responds "My Oath to you and this ship is as serious as I am standing here. I shall serve you both to the best of my abilities and if I should fail in any way, use my neca and plunge it deep into my heart, Riov"
He hoped it wouldn't come to that, but if it ever did, he would be ready. He continued to watch the Riov for his next comment/action

He gives a slight nod of approval and hands Sahen back his neca. Looking around at his Rihannsu officers he is satisfied that these new members of his crew would uphold their honor to him, the ship, and Empire. They would go about their duties as he explained them. A Rihannsu always knows the consequences of their actions.
'You may return to you previous spot, erie'Arrain."
He now focuses on the Vulcan. Looking at his PADD he notes she has an excellent Federation fitness report for duty. He sees that when she applied for the Officer Exchange program that she explicitly requested a Rihannsu vessel and no other choice. They High Command and Tal'Shiar must have felt she was trust worthy to be assigned a Warbird. But this still did not ease his feelings. Ever since he was a eredh (cadet) in his primary years of education it had been drilled into him that Vulcans were very cunning and in their own way deceitful. Their agenda was not always the most honorable.
Yet, having a Vulcan science officer could prove useful. They we some of the best computer and scientifically orientated in the galaxy. Their use of logic did at least give them an advantage there.
Looking around he sees his Rihannsu officers looking to see what he will say. Knowing that to dismiss them now before he talked to the Vulcan would cause a minor rift, he must insure them that she will be held accountable also. He would then dismiss them and talk to both the Federation personnel alone.
Looking at the Vulcan he says, " I see you have submitted your request to be assigned a Rihannsu vessel and no other species. I am curious why and I feel my officers should also know why you want to serve the Empire, for though you are an Exchange Officer, to serve aboard this ship you also serve me and Empire."

T'meryl stood at attention, box to the Riov, then met his stern look. She knew he was giving her a challenge, and that this would set the path for the relationship between her and the Rihannsu crew of the ship. "Khlinae Arhem, Rivo. Yes I did request this assignment. I was given and reviewed all the reasons for and against the decision. This was the logical conclusion . This is the first Warbird in Starfleet and you will need a science officer that can be an asset. My qualifications are in the disciplines that were listed as required for the assignment. As a member of the crew of this ship, I will serve this ship to my full ability. I will pledge my loyalty to the crew, the ship, and to you as commanding officer and Riov. If that serves the Rihannsu empire, then it will also serves Starfleet."
She again bowed to the Riov and stood straight at attention.

"You say that serving aboard this ship and pledging your loyalty to the Dhivael and Empire is logical for by doing so it also pleases Starfleet and the Federation." He paces back and forth while he mulls her words over in his mind.
"You are aware, Vulcan," he finally says, "that to serve the Empire is first and foremost. You requested this assignment because you have the qualifications and so called assets to assist us. I have no doubt of your ability and I have no doubt about your loyalty to the Federation. I do however have doubts about you ability to be loyal to the Dhivael and Empire if Federation directives and dictates 'supersedes' ours in your logical mind."
"I need to know that you are willing to die for the Empire. I need to know you will follow my orders without question. If I accept you, you will be the first Vulcan to serve on a Rihanssu vessel. Two thousand years of history behind us dictates that we have this understanding. If you serve the Dhivael, you serve the Empire. Whether or not that pleases or upsets the Federation or Starfleet is immaterial."

He saw the nod from his Riov and took that as a good sign. Recieveing his neca back, he would step back a couple steps, so that the Vulcan female could introduce herself and speak her reasons why she is aboard a Rhiannsu D-class ship. His brows furrowed a bit when she spoke of serving both the Rhiannsu and Federation Empires. He almost spoke up and said, The Rhiannsu Empired comes first, even before the Federation, but he held his tongue and let the Riov speak to her

T’meryl listened to the Riov, nodded, then said, “Then let me state it this way. My loyalties are to the Dhivael, her crew, and to you as the Riov. I will give my life in defense of the ship, her crew, and her Riov. I will follow your orders without question because you are the Riov, her captain. I will do my duties to the best of my ability. If you say that is swearing loyalties to the Empire also, then yes, my loyalties are with the Empire; because to me, you are the representative of the Empire. And if my death would save the ship, then I will die for the ship, her crew, and her Riov. Because logic dictates that the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one.”
In the back of her mind, T’meryl heard the voice of her friend from the Academy saying, “You know, Mer, that the whole object of battle is not dying for your side, it is making the other guy die for his.”
