S.Gale looks up from her bow and notices that the other officers aren't there. "Hrrmmm. They must have been walking in as I was introducing myself," she mused to herself, "obviously I am late, so might as well get ready for a chewing out." She rings the door chine and awaits out in the hall to be invited in, PADD in hand.

He rises from his chair and walks around his desk surveying her dagger as he began to speak.
"I see that you have limited combat experience, but I also see that you were the best in tactics from your graduating class. I have also spoken with your last Riov and his recommendation carries a lot weight for he was one of my closest mentors when I was coming up through the ranks. His one observation about you was you need to follow your instincts more. You are good at tactics, yet sometimes he felt you questioned yourself to much."
He looks again at her dagger. "You say you are willing to die for the Empire and the ship. You give me your dagger so I can take your life now if I choose.'
He ponders and looks up, "I accept your oath of loyalty, your first assignment for me will be too make a list and tell me what areas you are going to improve in and how you are going to do it. This will be done around your regular duty assignment." He looks at the others, "That will also apply to you. I have your fitness reports. Our goal is to constantly be improving. "
He lets that sink in and then says, "Thank you erie'Arrain, you may return to you spot."
Handing her back her dagger he nods toward the new Chief Engineer.

She watched him as he walked to her. Listening to his words intently, not moving a muscle until he finishes.
"Le, Rekkhai, I shall attend to it immediately." she steps back and bows slightly
"Khlinae Arhem Rekkhai." (thank you as said to superiours) She says as he hands her dagger back she then continues to stand at attention.

He would listen to what his Riov would say, keeping himself at full attention as he waited his turn to speak. He studied of how well the Riov stood up and not give one ounce of fear show. Vrih was more determined to prove his loyalty through his actions. He was more of a man of action than just mere words. When the Riov action towards him that it was his turn, Vrih would step forward and balls up his fist, placed it across his chest, as he was taught to do, and gives him a bow.
“Jolan’Tru, Rekkhai. I am Arrian Vrih Hwersuil. This would be my third assignment since I have graduated from the Romulan War School, but my first post as Etrehafwe’saehne. Served as Ameni’saehne/Dheno’saehne (Tactical Officer/Security Officer) on my last two assignments. I have required many skills other than engineering so that I may serve the Romulan Empire in just about any position that they see fit to put me in. Where ever I need improvements, I will work on them once I walk out of that door. My loyalty is shown through my actions and would rather be put to death if I have failed.”, he would say to Riov Galan Cretak.
He would take out his dagger and hands his dagger over to Riov Cretak. “I swear allegiances to you and to the Romulan Empire. Kill me if I have failed at my attempt, Rekkhai.”, he continued to say to him.

Hearing the chime of his door he again bids entrance. As the door opens he sees a female officer in Federation Uniform, Erein in Rihannsu, Ensign in Federation standard.
Looking at his personnel PADD he looks up and says, "You must be the new maenek," noticing her puzzled look he states, "My apologies maenek is Doctor in Rihannsu. I have reviewed your record, we will talk more in a few minutes. However the Chief Engineer has the floor now so I bid you to pay attention."

S.Gale salutes the way she was taught by the liason offcer, by balling up her fist and placing it above her chest and bowing slightly, "Yes, sir!" then stands at parade rest.

Looking at the Etrehafwe'saehne he nods slowly.
"And you, Arrian are also ready to join the Dhivael and pledge your life to Empire. I ask you why. I want to hear in your own words why duty to Empire and this ship is important to you. That is your assignment to be done around your regular duties. You also have a remarkable record and this is why you were selected. Our cloaking device is slightly out of balance. I expect it fixed before the 3rd watch comes on. Any questions.?
I accept your loyalty oath conditionally till I get your report." Hands the daise (chief) back his dagger. Waiting for Terrh to finish writing in his PADD he nods to the Doctor.

He would also hear the chime and only briefly glanced over to see who has entered. Vrih found it odd that a human would be on a Romulan ship, although, there was an exchange program between the Romulan Empire and Starfleet. All the while, keeping his attention on his Riov. He would take his dagger back, giving him another bow and a salute.
“Ie, Rekkhai.”(yes, sir), Vrih would reply to him. “It will be done before then.”
He would step back to his position, letting Terrh introduce himself. He would prove to him his worth and loyalty. If he does not, it would mean his death. That was one thing that he does not want to happen. He would find the answer for his Riov of why duty to the Empire and to this ship is important to him.

Seeing the Captain's attention on her, she comes to attention, salutes again and steps forward. In broken Rihannsu, " Jolan'tru. Riov, arhem dheyyan ihir krenn. Ecurai arhen i aihrrei khia mnekha u'i denae hwio i na hhlnae arham alehu. (Loosely translated: "Greetings. Captain, I am honored to be here. I hope to serve you well and follow your orders to the best of my abilities.) (OOC: there are a few twinges on the words.) And she salutes and bows again.

He looks at the doctor barely hiding his surprise. He is very impressed by her use of the Rihannsu language and the honor she brought upon herself by address him in such a manner. He realizes her usage is a bit twisted, but he notes that she did not say will, but hopes. If she had been Rihannsu he would have had to use her dagger. She will learn he muses.
"Jolant'tru, Doctor. I am impressed by your use of our language. Your record indicates you are a specialist in xenobiology and physiology. The Federation requested I take you on board to give you the opportunity to learn more about our medical treatment. You will find that serving on a Rihannsu vessel there are strict rules and regulations. You will avail yourself when you are off duty to study the workings of this ship. That will also show you what makes us who we are. If you have any special needs in sick bay please inform the quartermaster and she will find you what you need.
Now I want to hear why you want to serve on the Dhivael and do you understand what these officers have pledged and why?"

"Yes, Sir, Captain!" S.Gale then looks thoughtful for a moment and choosing her words carefully states. "I volunteered for this mission to gain experience. For too long have our peoples been at odds, and many things about our peoples are shrouded in mystery. The unknown breeds fear and suspicion; I strove to allieviate this possibility in myself. You will find me an apt pupil and I hope you to be forgiving of my occasional questions. As for the oaths, and why these noble officers offered up their lives to the Empire, to you, and this ship: In a disciplined unit, one must unquestioningly follow orders that may save their lives, may result in their deaths, or be put in situations where they *will* die in order to save this ship and her crew. Those who are not willing to do so put the entire ship in jeapordy and ye, even the Empire where those orders come from. If this is incorrect, I will strive to find the correct answer." Then she adds, "I will serve the Empire, you, this ship, and this crew to the best of my abilites for my tenure at this command. I have no dagger to offer for you to take my life if my words are untrue, but you have my word as a Cunningham and as a Starfleet Officer." She salutes again and stands at attention, gaze steady.

He was about to step up and introduce himself to the Riov when another female came in and introuduced herself as the new doctor. He nodded slightly, taking mental notes. He steps up slightly, closer to the Riov but not enough to interupt him and the doctor. he waited until they are finished

He would stand there a few moments contemplating the words of the doctor. He acknowledges there is an understanding of the concept of duty and honor. He wonders how thoroughly she understands the exactness of the commitment when given to a Rihannsu. There would be a lot of things he would have to now consider gaining a mixed crew. He had noticed on the faces of his other officers the surprise when the doctor had addressed him as Captain instead of Riov. New ideas and attitudes such as this minor point to deal with and find answers to. Challenging to say the least.
"Very well, Doctor. Hann'yyo (thank you). When you are dismissed I want a full inventory of medical supplies on my desk before you get off sift. You may stand down. Who's next?" looking around for Terrh.

S.Gale salutes and says solemnly "It will be done. Sir." and takes two paces back as she had seen the other officers do. She makes a mental note to get to know more Rihannsu and to learn more than the liason taught her. She brings her attention to the next officer. Listening hard to catch the proper use of the honorific to the captain... {{"Riov!"}} she corrects herself angrily, {{"C'mon, Gale, you've got to do better than that! That liason didn't teach you even a portion of what you needed to know! Even that speech had to be skewed. Good thing I am sincere, that at least translates over.}} she brings her attention again to the other officer about to speak.

She listened to what the Danse'Maenek'saehne said. She admired her attempt at Rihannsu but could tell there was a rehearsed quality to it. As she stayed she would learn to speak Rihannsu well.
As the Maenek said she *hopes* to serve him well, she suppressed a display of emotion as best she could. It was unthinkable to her, to only hope, to serve your lieh well. One did not hope to serve well, one *will* serve the Leih well, or die.
Is this the type of loyality sworn to lloann'mhrahel?(Federation as an organization) If so, it was indeed interesting. Or was it, as she read in one of her research materials, something they agreed to on enlistment? As part of a mandoraty obligation.
Her loyalty was given freely without being asked or told to do so. As she just did. It is an honor to serve, and while death is not sought or desired, it would be an honor to die for the Empire.
She was shocked on hearing her call the Riov captain. She would tell her later in a friendly way that the correct term is Riov. That its important not to confuse the two.
