I have had an eventful first day of duty. The power spike that the systems experienced when separated ( the shields and life support) was momentary and needed but it appears that there maybe persistent bugs to work out as we go. I just only hope we don't need backups because they are the persistent problem at the moment. I think that main will be more then what is was before if everything goes as plans. I am still holding judgment on this lady (ship) but I hope she treats me as kind as the last lady (ship) I served.

Another day of bonding with my boss as well as with the rest of the engineering family. The replicators are not all that great right at the moment so they are out for the count. It seams that this lady (ship) is just as nasty when hit as the last one I served on if not more so. I am just glad that I got a great leader and a wonderful crew to work with to keep her in check. Transporters like to eat people though so I don't know how much can be accomplished when that is going on. Hopefully the repairs will set in and she'll behave herself. Well I look forward to reporting progress on problems again sometime soon and as far as I am concerned keep her out of the scrap yard is a good day.

Today went on an away mission to bring back a person of interest that is affectionately referred to as a traitor because of what he his know for doing. I managed to get grazed on the arm and hit pretty good in the leg. I didn't know the Consoler was so talented until he went to work on me after it was all said and done. I could have swan he was a medical doctor in a past life or something because of the way in which he treated me. Anyways I am just glad to be out of the line of fire for now.

We were able to accomplish our goal on the surface with a little resistance but not a whole lot. I'm just glad to be back where I know what I am doing...well most of the time. The lady (ship) was good to the crew that had the privilege to watch her. She's one fine ship to behave so nicely to her crew like she did. I just really hope that the cracking in the coil doesn't get any worse off though. Looks like it came back while me and the Chief were on the surface, but at last there is always something to do. Something some were needs to be fiddled with or fixed or adjust but that goes the nature of the good lady.

Today was the day that the repairs all went on-line for the first time without any outside stress on them. They seam to be holding but I still got my doughs as to what will go at what time. I guess that kind of happens after a while of things breaking around you that you just suspect the worst to happen. My superior officer and senior partner if you would like to say says that we are golden so I will take his advice and leave the ship to her vices...for now. That coil still bothers me because we haven't gotten to see what exactly made it crack the way it did.
Beta shift came on duty so I had to abandon the analysis on the coil and leave it in the capable hands of the next shift of duty. I have full confidence in the crew chief's and their understudies that they will work like a well oiled machine without being baby sat for a change. They will probably like that. I heard the great news of my Co having a son without any ill affects on his wife or any of the other children. That is always a good sign to a new start of a life.
I am still getting use to human customs and so forth on celebrations. I am hoping that the drinks with my Co will not only allow me to get to know the man behind the mechanics but also more about the human rituals for celebration. Even though I don't drink alcoholic beverages it will still all the same be good to bond with a fellow crew member seeing as I don't know a whole lot about anyone here as one of the new people.

Well we got some much needed time off which could be a good thing. It just depends on how much trouble I get myself in :: Laughs :: hopefully it wont be much. Mom don't worry I don't do this often. I think it's nice to get away from the mechanics of the ship and get to know the people who run it...well the people who do stuff with it. Anyways I am just glad to talk to someone for a change besides saying 'yes sir'.
I hope and pray that I don't make the mistake of falling in love and then breaking his heart like I did to the last person I was involved with on another ship in a past life. Mom don't worry I promise not to bring home someone unless I am sure this time. I find it refreshing to find someone who knows how to block me so I don't know what is going on all the time. Either that or I am just wearing myself out...I don't know. Anyways I better go before he finds me spacing and calls me on it.

After a couple of days away from the ship and some much needed time to write to the family I am ready to go back on duty. The Chief seams to be in a good mood which should make a wonderful time in engineering for a while. The engines sing his praises too because they are running so smooth that it is actually relaxing now instead of nail biting. :: Giggles a bit. :: I know that was high praises but its the truth. Anyways I look forward to a new voyage and to more adventure with the best ship in the feet with the bet engineering crew around.

It is good to get back to duty and to find things to be in order besides some technical mishaps with the transporters. It seams that these bigger classed ships have that problem where the wires aren't all checked and this could short. The transporter chief has been a good sport about having engineering in his way and that means allot to the engineers there. It seams that working together is a priority in all department and across department lines. Then again engineering is a vital part of the ship and people tend to treat us a bit to some space :: chuckles::. I am getting use to working with the Chief in engineering and I say he is adjusting quite well to having an extra pair of hands around. I do like the guy and consider it now a joy to work with him instead of a nerve racking thing now....that's just me. I better go do some more checking and less talking.

Today was more eventful then expected the debate contours as to if we should shut the transporter system down. I got promoted which is a yey moment and also got to know the wiser Chief today. He is indeed a joy to work with and I am looking forward to all the things he has to teach me yet. I just hope that no one gets killed because of the lack of concern over this matter that the transporter staff seams to be giving this at the moment. I consider the possibility of losing crew members because of this to be most disturbing to say the least. Well that is another day and time and place but for now I must resign to the quarters assigned to me before I fall over something seaming I am increasingly clumsy these days.

The problem was fixed today so we started on yet another problem. The isolenier chips that the coils use to communicate just how hot they are to the surrounding circitry. That proves to be interesting considering that it is very rare that in a ship of this size something that small would fail like it did. That is one thing I am getting use to is the unexspected on this ship. Anyways I am still learning and enjoying it for the most part.

It seams that there is an outpost in need of engineering expertise. We were assembled for an away team and beamed to the surface. Level one diagnoses was started on the relay system. The ship must have know we were leaving because it was in relatively good mood when we left. No problems so far but that can always change...never expect things to go right always expect them to go wrong so when it happens you are prepared. That is something that I have learned since childhood and seams to be true in the engineering field.

We were successful at getting maintenance done on the ground of the plant and were returned to the ship sometime today. The ship seams to be in good working order but that is all the crew chief would tell me for now. He had two minor incidents that were logged and the like but I am not sure if they will happen again or not so I will just keep a look out for them again. Other then that it was a quite day on the ship and quite day all around I believe.

Today was another day in the neighborhood so to speak. I got to be off duty for a while but before I did I handed off a list of things to do in the tubes if so desired. Other then that nothing officially to report
Personal log
I have just gotten the best news a girl could get last night. I am engaged to Keith Fox the sweetest man that I know. We've been spending allot of time together as of late and now we decided that is would be wonderful just to spend the rest of our lives together. That's it for me on that end too.

Today was another one of those " I just got off of shore leave so I am kind of out of it" days. The reports that were handed in were ones that were done of the repair teams the voluntarily stayed on ship. They reported all repairs were done and that the ship should be running smoothly. That's a good thing because means less work for us all in the long run. Well hopefully the wires all stay were they are supposed be so we don't have to go in any tubes anytime soon.
Personal Log
Well I have broken the engagement because I am not ready for that. I don't want to sound like I am being picky or anything but right now moving that fast at my age is not a good thing. Well on that note my mom recently died. Seams like bad news comes in threes however, a good friend of mine got transfered to another ship so I wont get to see him quite as often. I just hope he stays in contact...at least for a while. He will be missed that is for sure. Anyways I am going back to bed seance I am off duty now.

Ok it seams that there is either a thing running around in the tubes or that this ship just likes undoing itself randomly at junctions. Crawling that far for something like that can make one think that either the ship hates something or something is happening that one only doesn't know about. It was fixed with no damage to the surrounding wires but if this keeps occurring in that spot like it has been we are going to face a possible major system going down and I really don't like that idea. Well with that bit of good news out of the way the rest of the shift was uneventful.
Personal Log
I learned something new today. I found out what Duck Tape is and how it is used. If the ship ever is to fall apart that several then only Star fleet knows how to fix it. That's all I got to say about starship and duck tape.
