Realizing that he just took a commanding role again, he bit his lower lip. Having been previously in a leadership role for an extended period, he found it very difficult to get out of that mindset.
Another glance directed toward Grabfoot would show that he had just realized what he had done, and is admittedly upset with himself for jumping into the fray.
He knew deep down that he had to continue to work on adjusting that viewpoint, that he was no longer in command and that he had to stop arbitrarily dishing out orders without checking with the rightful commanding officer first.
Granted, some habits may be hard to break, but for the sake of avoiding a conflict, he knew he had to.

Not only did he have an objections, he seemed to be counter-ordering his orders. He began to wonder if he 'd ben listening to the conversation at all. To Grey House and M'Leezz especially . His whiskers and tail began twitching, his whiskers saving his tail from an all out lashing. He turned a look on Ijoula that spoke volumes of his displeasure
He heard Ijoula order "Agreed. Belay the suggestion that we retrieve the memory core.. Helm... Lay in a course for the Jackson. Perhaps we can find some clues as to what happened to her crew from the ship itself."
"Lt, Belay that order and return us to our previous position." He told Buford without looking at him, knowing that he already complied with the order. Speaking to Ijoula, he told him "Lt GreyHouse had a good suggestion about shutting down the Buoy's communication array so no other ship could be brought into the same situation as we have, and perhaps the Jackson
"When the distress call was sent, there was no apparent information suggesting that they were going to abandon ship. If they had to abandon ship for any reason, then we need to know why they had to abandon ship, and where they would've most likely went..."
He then repeated what he said just a moment ago, that seemed to escape his ears "As the Buoy is damaged, the core could be damaged as well. The damage sustained is unknown and whatever could be in the buoy could affect our systems as well. That could be the very reason the Jackson is adrift. They attempted to download what was on the buoy and it had affected their systems."
He asked M'Leezz "Are there any M-class planets within the maximum range of typical escape pods?"
He tried so hard not to growl as he told him "There are 3 planets in the vicinity of 1 light year from here, As M'Leezz reported just a moment ago"
He let all that sink in before he saw Ijoula glance his direction again, he could see in his eyes what he had done and ashamed and upset with himself. He would be too, if he had made the same mistake. On Eeiauo, when one tried to overstep one's bounds, he or she would be corrected by getting cuffed but he knew that this wasn't Eeiauo. This was Star Fleet and they had their own set of rules
He turned to Lt Grey House. "Once we're back in position, disable the communications part of the buoy"

Location: Bridge at Tactical
He watched the Commander walk on the Bridge while the LT. had gotten his attention again. He nodded and smiled at her. She was right and checked on his men to make sure all was going good. He glanced back at her and then back at the Security Console. He liked that kind of a woman. One not afraid to tell someone what to do, which showed how she earned her rank. Knowing the Commander wanted a report but was also busy he took hold a PADD and wrote down his report. He walked down to the Commander and handed him the PADD. "Sorry Sir just spent a little too much time in the Holodeck training my men. Here is my report and I will get right on my patrol. It is nothing important so read it when you have time Sir." Not even letting have a chance to say anything he about faced and walked off the Bridge into the Turbo Lift.

Before he can get into a bigger hole than he already found himself in, he decides to back off from the front of the bridge, and walk toward the nearest unmanned science station to not only get out of the way, but to also see if he can recognize anything about the traces left behind by the vessels that attacked the Jackson.
He hoped that he could find something useful, and as such, he relaxes his control over the other personalities within him, to allow them to help temper his attitude before things get out of hand.

"Lt. Commander Ijoula I would be greatful if you would help me refine tactical sensors to get a more pinpoint firing range on the probe so we don't damange it more then what it is already, sir."
They were back at quardaents so she was working hard on isolating and getting the probe disabled communications wise. The securit man that hung around her for a while was now off the bridge on patrol. She had to shake her head at that some people were still strange to her as to how they got about doing things.
"That is if you don't got anything else to do sir. "

Thankful for the opportunity to get his mind on something other than the renewed tension, he would nod at her.
"Sure." he responded with a hint of a relieved sigh present.
He would get up from the science station and come over to Kestral's station and, looking at the readouts, he thought for a moment from his own time at this station.
"Try adjusting the phasers to a narrow confinement beam. It would also be a good idea to reduce phaser intensity to around five to ten percent, so that the communcations subsystem is disabled, rather than destroying the buoy altogether."
He would also notice that the buoy was rotating, making for an interesting change of pace.
"Watch the rotation carefully..." he would add, trying to encourage her.

She noded and got to work at her station with his watchful eyes on her. She couldn't help but feel that she was distracting him and to her that was a good thing. He shouldn't regret the desicion to come back.
"Aye sir, I'm working on that now."
She narrowed the beam and lowered then intensatie of the phasor blast on her pannel. Then tracking the rotaion of the bouy she tired to time when the target spot was going to come in range.
"Looks to be a slow rotation but just enough to be a problem."
He would watch the rotation as well, his mind going back to when he was at tactical, and letting that experience serve to help guide the lieutenant.
"If you think it might be needed, a tractor pulse can further slow the rotation even further. If you can't get it on the first pass, don't worry about it."
"Consider this an exercise in target practice.." he said with a slight smile.
"Target pratice that if I misfire once could end up blowing the whole thing up and putting this ship in danger."
She sighed, "But I can't think of that. I have to focus on the target not the concequences."
She got the pattern down as to how fast it was rotating.
"The next time it comes up I'll take the shot if ordered to do so."
"Okay. Don't be afraid to use a tractor beam to help with something like this, especially if it helps you succeed." he tried to encourage her.
"If I use that it puts the ship at greater risk if I fail and hit the perpulsion system. I can't risk it, sir."
She then got the target spot on her pannel and spoke, "Target will be in range in two mintues what is the order sir. Should I take the shot?"
She was not one to fire weapons without being ordered to do so. It was protical not to take one's own station into one's hands if not nessary.
He would nod once.
"Yes. That could very well be what's causing all this distortion activity, and it might clear up our communications."
"I'll take the shot then sir."
She then had the target in range.
"Takeing the shot now."
She took the shot and found the mark right away.
"Target hit. Now waiting for damage report on target to determin if I need to take another shot or not sir."
The targeting sensors where sharp but the other ones took time to collect data and that is what she was waiting on now.

He had forgotten the security chief was still on the bridge. He did remember that he asked him for a status report. With things happening between him and Ijoula, it had him distracted a little. Apparently, he wasn't the only one distracted. He seemed to realize where he was all of a sudden, he snapped out of his daze, he grabbed a PADD and tapped out a report and then walked over to deliver it, apologizing for spending too much time in the holodeck training the men. He was about to say it was fine, since it was Security training but he hurriedly told him the report was unimportant and then turned and left the bridge before he could say anything. Was he that imposing that no one wanted to talk to him?
He turned a glance toward Ijoula to get his reaction and he seen him walking over to the Science station, presumably to get out of his fur. Ijoula stepped on his tail twice and it was beginning to get sore. Ijoula knew that he was the second in command but his ability to lead had come to the fore and tried to take center seat, even with him in it. He could understand where he was coming from. Some instincts are hard to fight and this was no different. He hoped he would tame those instincts or they would continue to bump heads
He turned a glance to the Tactical officer as she called Ijoula over to help her with the calibration of the tactical sensors and the phasers so she could successfully disable the communications device on the defective buoy
He watched as they worked together and he thought this is what he wanted to see. People working together for the common good, not pulling each other's tails. As he watched them, he could tell that she was nervous and he nearly spoke up, saying that a Tactical officer shouldn't be nervous while handling the ship' weapons systems, but then he remembered when he was an up and coming officer and assigned the Tactical station for the first time. He was so nervous that he could barely keep his tail of his hands but with some encouragement and experience, he grew out of his nervousness stage and became one of the best tactical officers in the fleet
Coming back to the present, he heard her report that the target will be in range in two minutes, asking if she should take the shot. He would nod as Ijoula done then turned to look at the screen
The Target came into range and she took the shot. With a seasoned eye, he saw that she scored a direct him, his tail spiraling in response. He turned back to her "Very well done, Lt. Please let me know if any important information comes up"
He wondered what the scans would turn up

Trying to continue to encourage her, he would pat her shoulder, having watched the readout on the tactical display with one eye, and the view on the viewscreen.
"I think you just scored a perfect hit. Nice job."

She smiled and looked at him, "Thank you sir, and thank you for your assistance."
She then heard the command from the acting Captain and noded, "Will do should sensors yeld anything of interest sir."

He stepped out of the Turbo Lift and on to deck 2 and made a full walk around and climbed down to deck 3 by the Jeffrey's Tube and made the full round there. He liked the Tactical Officer but since he was there next to her and she would not say hardly anything to him he wondered if it was him, she had someone else, not interested or maybe something else. He wanted to ask for dinner but did not care for the rejection she was most likely to give him...or at least he felt she would.

Focused on her work she zoned out the rest of the bridge for a while. To be alone with the data and do her job. She always is nervous around other people in groups. Been that way since she was a child it was only natural to show in her job performance. So far the results were yealding the normal results of what would happen after disabling a communications compoant in a bouy that was designed to do so much more. There was no power surges, no abnormal readings, to her it seamed to have been a success. But she would check the reading again in a few moments.

Down in Engineering he and, Ensign Cala stood atthe "Pool Table keeping an eye on how the ship was running. he looked to Cala for a moment then studied the display in more detail. " Everything looks good here Ensign." he then tapped his Badge . " This is Lt. Latanm in Engineering to the Bridge. Come in? "
