He picked up on Zarlena's words and looked to the Colonel
"Sir, I would recommend waiting a couple hours, after pulling back, to launch the shuttle. That way it would look less suspicious that a shuttle would appears just as we leave"

Thinking to himself Damn it you know better Tom!""You are both correct."Contact the planet and let them know we are headed out if they have any more intel on Colonel Kaine send it to Star Base 240.Let them think we have confidance in them handling it.
Tapping his COMM Badge"Major Iverson we are going to pull out of here and wait for three hours before you launch. We are trying to make this look as natural as we can Allen out."
He balled his fists up not even aware he had.He could feel the anger in himself. He was a little rusty but this was not the time.Refocusing his thoughts,Stay frosty everyone makes mistakes. As he calmed himself down he was glad he had a crew who would point things out to him that he or Hall might have missed.

He heard the Colonel respond and then gave out new orders "Aye, sir. I shall inform the planet of our plans"
As he still had control of Operations, he would tapp a key opening a link to the planet. He would then visably flinch a bit as he felt the Colonel's anger. Was he aware that he had two strong empaths on his bridge? He had to raise an empathic shield against his mind to keep from getting a headache. He contacted the head government and informed them that we were leaving. Anymore information on Colonel Kaine should be sent to Star base 240. After a moment, he reported to Colonel Allen "They have acknowledged, Colonel and they wish us luck in our search"

Her com badge beeped and she answered it. Hearing about the change in plans to leave later. It was a mixed bag for her, part of her wanted to leave and get the mission done, while the other side of her wanted to stay with Davy.
She answered Allen, "Understood sir." she went back to finishing the hover car game.

Post by Marine Captain Jack Bradley on Jun 16, 2009 14:46:25 GMT -5
Jack had mixed feelings. He'd barely met this CO and now a new one so soon. He didn't want to let Lexi down, and the call from the bridge was a great way to make himself useful. He also saw the ship was pulling back. With Winslow gone, he was missing his bridge to the staff. He hadn't been long in this posting and had still been learning his personnel. He picked a Sgt named. Carter Blythe. He was young with much less experience than Winslow, but he had a mind like steel trap and could reason almost as quickly as Jack.
He allowed the boy to handle 'pool table' while he attended the shuttle Major Iverson would use. He picked one of the spare cargo shuttles. Something that would look less military. He had a team working on changing the sharp military edges to curves. With a laser torch and some work they had aged the ship ten years. He looked at his handwork still sweating from the laser torch. He wiped his brow. He wanted a sonic shower, but he didn't have time. This new CO was putting this mission on fast forward. He hadn't boarded more than a half an hour before orders came down and things were moving.
For Jack, this was a godsend. He needed to busy himself to keep his mind from wandering to what happened to the Colonel and if there was anything he could have done to change it. He slapped the comm activation button. "Shuttle prepared Colonel, awaiting further orders."

He had just received the reply from Major Iverson when his Comm Badge went off again. This time it was a different voice one he had not heard before."Shuttle prepared Colonel awaiting further orders."He had gone over the crew manifest remembering who was new to him since he had taken over the Tarawa again. He assumed it was the Marine Captain he had to think for a second to remember his name.
"Very good Captain Bradley Major Iverson will be there in a couple of hours. We are pulling back out of sensor range and trying to pull the wool over their eyes.Keep up the good work down there Allen out."
He looked at the short time Bradley had taken to get the job done and made a mental note of it.He seemed to be like the type that really buckled down during crunch time and that was good to know.

She heard the chime and raised the warmth of the room. After a couple of mins she let him in.
"Sir, sorry to keep you waiting but I keep my office and quarters on what you would consider the chilly side, so I raised the temperature. Have a seat."
She sat down after he sat and looked at him waiting for him to begin.

"Sir, we have moved back and I've positioned us behind the 5th planet. There is no way they will detect us, however we'll be close enough to give assistant in a flash." She finished and matched the movements of the shuttle to stay out of sensor range.

"The fifth planet very good captain Dorius its good to know that I have the best starship driver in the fleet.Lt. Moon make sure we stay in communications silence. We will be listening but nothing goes out."
"I know the chances of them picking anything not directed at them is very slim but I do not want to take any unnecessary risks.Major Iverson is going to slip right through and we are going to give her the best odds we can."

The cacophony of tools and equipment moving was the only thing that could be heard from the flight deck. There was also movement of feet, but that was all. Marc, The CAG officer for the Tarawa was at a loss. He had spoken to his most trusted officer, Deck Chief Bartholomew Patricowski. The man also know by the moniker "Hedgehog. He was given a report that the men were very much on edge since the disappearance of Colonel Lexi Kaine. He had served under her since She took command of the Tarawa and he too was somewhat shaken by her disappearance.
He noticed that the new commanding officer simply made his presence known and began putting everyone to work. With the ship trying to hide itself, flight patrols had been canceled so his men sat on deck waiting. Waiting was one thing pilots never did well. When someone was used to living life at 'hyper speed' telling them to wait for anything was a death sentence. Marc had them doing time in the simulator and making reports. It was all 'busy work' and they knew it. He thought to go to Sandy, and give his reports in person. It was just an excuse to find out what was going on, but he knew that whatever was happening was happening fast and to 'poke around' would only serve to slow down things.
He'd also heard about the plan to shuttle her down. It spread around ship quickly. Though they were not part of it, the news seemed to bolster morale even with his pilots. 'Some action' seemed to be and improvement on 'no action". He organized speed drills among the deck crew, and sent reports to the colonel of the ships new compliment of fighter craft. He saw that the Colonel had commanded Tarawa before, so all he did was update his information since he was sure that would be all he had time to absorb. He sat in his office just off the flight deck waiting for word of the shuttle launch.
He waited and hoped he would not be needed, because it he was that would mean that there was trouble, and things had gone bad.

"Very good LT. Moon if we get anything on incoming let me know".He thought for a second and hit his Comm Badge."Lt.Lassiter I want your fighters on Ready Alert the whole time Major Iverson is on her mission.I do not think they will be needed but if they are I want then launched ASAP Allen out."
He went back to running the mission through his head.He went over every scenario from absolutely perfect to complete failure and how he would respond. It was the marine in him that had him do it.Ever Vigilant was their motto and thats how he thought.Just like everyone on the ship he hated the waiting as well. The difference was he was the CO and he could not afford to show it in any way.
It was one of the drawbacks of being tied to the big chair as they called it.When he was a LT. during the Dominion war he wished for some down time that never occurred. Then on the Broad Sword as XO he had the luxury of checking out Engineering or the Fighter Bay and using his time to make sure everything was ready to go.Or even better he was part of an away mission.Yet he reminded himself that was then and this is now.He had to make the big decisions and count on others to do their duties above and beyond expectations.
Well at least he had the crew to do exactly that he thought to himself.
