"Commander Madison was half-way through setting the Warp Core to overload, but though he was not able to finish his work he did manage to strand us out here, with no propulsion, communication, weapons, or primary sensors. Worst of all we could fix this if we could just override his encryption codes, but we can't because he also managed to disable the senior staff's command codes."
Shran sighs a little to himself before he opens up the tricorder as he stands again. Walking around the doctor he passes the medical instrument around him. "Your biochemistry has been altered slightly. According to this you were subjected to a low-level gravitational flux. I'm not a doctor or a medic, but I don't believe that the effects are serious."
He places the tricorder down in front of the doctor and motions for the security officers to unbind his hands. Once the act is done, both guards immediately find their hands on their phasers. "Doctor, I have always trusted you, and I do hope that perhaps none of this was of your's, or Madison's, doing. Look at these readings, and tell me what you would conclude if our situations were reversed."
He paces slightly as he looks also to the Marine. "Lieutenant Greathouse I know this is not entirely your area of expertise, but I am open to theories.

his hands were unbound and he rubs his wrists alittle then places his hands on the desk infront of him "I'm really no engineer, if our situations where reversed then naturally we would dominate and whatever it is would be suppressed. How ever since whatever is going on seems to... Take over another being, thus far humans or half human. It would be logical to assume that all humans are prone. Whatever it is" He fully believes at this point its some sort of alien lifeform that starfleet has yet to encounter... "it wants a warpcore overload, I'm sorry to say that I really dont know why until I can run an analyze Madisons body and analyze the trace elements that it left behind and time is of the essense." "
He pauses for a momant then continues
As it stands right now no one on this ship is safe and everyone can be considered a potential enemy.... Especially those with engineering backround..... Sir, think about it... I'm completely devoted to starfleet not only as a doctor but as an officer, as I'm sure Commander Madison was as well. Then suddenly out of the blue, he starts to get the warpcore to overload if he was in a normal mental status he would be doing this knowing full well that it would kill himself and everyone else on the ship... He wasn't acting on his own free will... Why would he do that? He wouldn't.... He had to have been controlled by an outside influence that didn't care if we lived or died."

Shran nods as he listens to the doctor. "Frederich Madison served with distinction during the Dominion War. He was a decorated officer, and Doctor you would be one of the last people whose loyalty I would question. I am inclined to believe you." He looks to the view-screen at the vital readings of Madison. "What else do we have to go on?"

He gets up and walks to the view screen "unfortunently when this scan was taken Commander Madison was already dead, however if he was living and was being controlled there would be differant brain wave patterns, I now believe that the reason why my scans of Crewman Fillmore"
He thinks thats what his name is his memory is still alittle fuzzy... He continued...
"brain wave activity came back as normal because it had already "jumped from him and to me. I wont lie to you gentleman this creature acts fast and so does its effects... I think... That when the a person is being controlled clearly their subconscience is asleep while it controls the motor fuctions which would explain why I dont remember a thing of what I did after I did my logs for the day. So with this in mind we may be able to set up a cortical stimulator on every crew member... It scans the brain waves of the person wearing it... If the creature is infact controlling a person it would indicate an increase of Theta and Delta waves which indicate sleep... Something that cannot be duplicated by any means known to starfleet at this time... Since the cortical stimulator can me used across the ship I can set them up to send results back to me in sickbay and it will alarm if the condition changes... IE: If the brainwaves change from Alpha or Beta to Theta or Delta... It's more of a theory for now however it's a lot more then what we have for right now."
He looked at the Captian "someone please contact one of my nurses to turn on the EMH program to perform an autopsy of Commander Madison if we are to find out what kind of being we're dealing with here. May indicate it's motives and possibly a way to detect it."

Clyde listens to the Doc and Captain, then he speaks "Medical not my strong suite, but I agree with the Doc this symbiont is taking over our people"
He takes a breath " And I agree its quick it went from the Doc to Gadget which leaves me wondering" he says
"1) How many are their, 2) were is the one that was in Gadget now 3)Can we track it" he says
" I also recommend any crewmen with Engineering training be watched if this thing is after them be easer to spot and as I have an Engineer back ground looks like I may on its list" He says then Chuckles a little I hope we get this thing, I rather be controlled by a woman than this thing"

He looked to Greathouse and nods "I completely agree that anyone with an engineering backround not be permitted to carry a weapon and have a marine escort at all times... As well as those who have high access codes, myself, the MCO, CO, XO, Helm, Ops, Tac... Ect."

Shran sits and considers. "As for the access codes I don't believe they will be a problem. The command override codes seem to have been encrypted and rendered useless. The Computer no longer recognizes us as being in command. Unfortunately the only person I think of who would have been able to flawlessly accomplish such a task is Commander Madison. It seems our alien intruder picked well.
"Perhaps given time, Ensign Ironmind may be able to break the decryption. We do however seem to have caught a break with our current situation. The Overload sequence was only half done when the Chief Engineer and whatever was inhabiting him was killed by the second organism within Doctor Devoroh. We don't have the access codes to shut down the half-completed sequence but I believe the remaining entity doesn't have them either. That knowledge died with Madison." He says the last part almost to himself.
He looks to his Marine CO. "Lieutenant Greathouse, I want Marines positioned outside all critical areas of the ship: Sickbay, Engineering, the Bridge, the Weapon's Bay, and the Launch Bay. Inform your men that they are to travel in squads of four. I believe there is only one organism remaining. The rest of the crew is to work in pairs."
He turns to address the Doctor. "After we are done here doctor, I want you to report to sickbay and begin the autopsy yourself. Security will remain in sickbay both to protect you and keep and eye on you, for now. Find out everything you can about this thing and hopefully we can find a way to alter the internal sensors to track it. You may also begin placing Cortical Sensors on the crew, maybe we'll get lucky.
"There is one more thing I want us all to consider. This being, whatever it might be is sentient. I feel compelled to reason with it first, and to talk with it. Maybe we can find a peaceful solution. I want your honest opinions of such a course of action."

Clyde sends a message and his team heads to Sickbay, Engineering, the Bridge, the Weapon's Bay, and the Launch Bay 4 men per area, he keeps those on his team with Engineer experience from Engineer, their weapons set to stun
When the captain is done " Men are in route I'm keep those with Engineer experience from Engineering, Weapons are set to stun Sir" he reports
"Sir that all depends on a few factors 1) is the entity from Madison and if it is 2) did it retain his Memory, I think we should treat it as the entity has the codes Sir better safe than sorry" he says
"I Agree Sir we should at least try to Communicate with it" he Adds

"I have to admit that I disagree with Lt. Greathouse on trying to communicate with it, it's already shown hostile intent and with no concern for anyone else even a member of it's own species! However if it's your desire to attempt to contact it thats up to you"
He sends a message to his nursing staff to prepare the body of Commander Madison for autopsy... Also to get the cortical stimulators ready.
"I recommend that for the placement of these stimulators we do it by section and subsection so that it's in an organized manner... I think that we should split it up in two... I'll do my medical staff first then my nurses will do one column I'll do the next... Starting with the command staff, then engineering, followed by security, then science... Ect. It should go rather quickly since it's only placing it on the person then turning it on.
He looked to Capt. Shran... "As soon as I get back down to sickbay I'll begin the autopsy as the marines that are stationed in sickbay for security if I may make one small request, can 50% of them be medics? This way if I need assistance they would have some medical experiance to help me out... Just in case. You can never be too careful. Especially when we are dealing with a new lifeform we have never delt with before"

He looks to his Chief Medical Officer. "I will leave the specifics of distributing the Cortical Sensors to your own discretion. Likewise, talk with Lieutenant Greathouse about getting medical corps Marines assigned to you.
"The hostility of these creatures has been proven, but I cannot believe that it is simply hostility without a purpose. They seem to have a clear-cut goal and until we determine what that is I am unwilling to take any of our options off the table, but it is valuable to know the opinions of my crew as I choose how to proceed."
He looks to Greathouse. "This of course brings me to another concern. Once the rest of the ship learns of the threat we face I am afraid that fear and paranoia will run rampant among my crew. How do we keep panic down to a minimum and make sure that in a few hours we aren't all pointing phasers at each other?"

"We could lie tell the crew their was Damage to the Computer Core and this caused an accidental release of malonex gas into the ship, the core is being repaired and the gas was not harmful just used to but people to sleep, I think this is the best option Sir" Clyde says
"Other wise Security and my Marines will have to step up patrols, that would make things worse in my Option Sir" he says
"and Security and the Marines can handle any out breaks it should by us time for them to lose the fear Sir, we just go on as nothing has happened other than being stopped to repairer the systems Sir" he says

nods as he looked between Shran and Greathouse "I couldn't agree with you more... A clear presence of patrols will make everyone think otherwise... However at the same time we could also use the fear and paranoia against the creature... If it KNOWS that everyone is looking for it, it will be less likely for it to attempt anything suspicious. Again if we do elect to lie to the crew I think that a computer malfuction would be the best course of action...Anyways I'll shut up and let you two discuss security and all that jazz"

Shran is silent for a long moment as he considers his options. His antennae twitch ever so slightly at a steady rhythm. "I have already considered lying as you suggest, Lieutenant, and no matter how tempting or how easy it may seem I will not spread false information among my crew unless I can help it. Everyone on this ship is in as much danger as those at the top, and it is only fair that they should be made aware of it. Everyone on the Aryes is a member of Starfleet and should have the professionalism and ability to cope.
But with that said, we do not have to tell them the full extent of what we know, just enough to keep them vigilant and hopefully not so much as to make them paranoid. As the doctor pointed out with the crew on alert it will make the creature's job that much harder, but no matter how grave the situation is the crew has a trust in me, and I will not break that at the first sign of a threat. I am afraid that outright lying is out of the question."

After both his officers remain in silence, Shran Continues. "This is a tricky situation we are in. I want to know if either of you have any particular concerns or questions. Please feel free to express them."
