He pulled her face so close to his he could feel her breath. Winter, you are not the only one who can make a sacrifice. I want you to do what makes your heart content. I will not ask you to act against your own nature. No more than you would ask me to act against mine.

That is not true love. He smiled and kissed her forehead. You let me in too deep that time. I know how you really feel about it and I won't be party to charade. Not even a logical one.

" All I want is you to be Happy Andy there is no deception in that." She hugged him tightly. " Would give it all up before I lost you."

And that is all I need to here. He stroked her back. If you quit and when you quit it has to be because you are no longer interested in that life; not because you think its something I want. I love you too and will not have you compromise for me. We work it out together.

To: General Jenina Weslynes
U.S.S. Pegasus NX-50000 Evaluation Report and Counseling Record
Action- Drop Ship Exercise. Delivery of Medical Supplies to the 312th Marine Group.
List of Participating Officers
Major Andrew Shackleford, Executive Officer
1st Lieutenant Kiele Christienne, Counselor
Ist Lieutenant Ranadhira, Marine Commanding Officer
Lieutenant Ethan Thames, Chief Engineer
2nd Lieutenant Janice Blackwell, Medical Technician
Report:
As drill team leader, Major Shackleford consistently exhibited an understanding of the required technical knowledge and practical ability necessary for the successful completion of the simulated mission. Conduct and professionalism rated as excellent.
Lt.Thames, though at first unwilling to assume a more active role than that of technical observer, did well overall, completing assigned tasks as directed.
Lt.Ranadhira was sent in this case to observe rather than direct the Marines involved in the exercise. His report should be considered more conclusive regarding the performance of his personnel.
Lt.Blackwell, assisted in off loading supplies and also took the initiative in insuring other personnel's safely and comfort. No injuries were sustained during this exercise and I can not further evaluate her technical performance.

She kissed him deeply for a long time. Then stopped and looked at him." This is a most enjoyable talk we are having." She put her arms around his neck and looked into his eye's. "How can I put you at ease about our situation?"

I'm not asking you to put me at ease. He stoked her hair. That can't happen. all I'm asking is for you to understand how I feel. I just want the chance to go to Vulcan and see what you do.

" I am sure I can arrange it the next time I am called to Vulcan. Specifically what aspect of my duty do you want to know about?" She looked at him with curiosity.

She looked at him with a serous look. " I will tell you but it must not leave this room. I went back to Vulcan for a meeting of a possible attack on my people. Many in High Command feel that now the Romulans have made peace with the Federation that they may try to force unification on my people. There are many on Vulcan who die then have Romulans in their mist."

I find it very strange that a people as logical as the Vulcan with such realistic views on the universe and the people in it would have such colloquial views on such things

She raises an eyebrow. "Andy I am not sure how to explain this to you....My People have worked hard to form the society you now see on Vulcan. True Romulans were Vulcan's who left because they refused to embrace logic and suppress their emotions. I am sure in many cultures there are parts of there history they do not wish to be reminded of. It is best left to history and read if need."
