'Aye, thats very true Ivan. I've seen the images of Thales and it seems very similar to home. But then, there will be enough differences to keep us on our toes I vantage."
The waitress brought over their meals, she looked at hers smiling. "I came by freighter, so the meals were either rations, or the few items that the crew enjoyed. Of course, since I was not crew there was very little I enjoyed. mhmm this look and smells so grand." She took a bite and nodded her approval.

She nods to Saito "Of course as you wish" she then heads back to the table
When she gets their she hears Skye finishing her comment, Sara then looks at the new member "Sara Greathouse" she says as she sits by Troy "Sorry everyone I seemed to have stuck my foot in my mouth with Saito" she sighs
"That looks good Skye" she calls a waiter over and orders it

He smiled and thanked the waitress for the meal. Then he heard Sky's comment about the meals on her flight over he had to laugh a little he was in a similar situation on his way over. He then saw Sara re-join the table and his smile got a little brighter. "Hello, Sara. Nice to meet you I'm Ivan. We were just discussing how our jounies went from where we were at to where we are now. The food wasn't the greatest in the freighter I was in since the crew was mostly Bolian. They are definetly a jolly bunch." He then took a drink of his tea and started digging into the stew that was before him. He was hungeryer then he thought he was and the stew smelt wounderful to him after eating so sparcly to get here.

He merely listened as Skye and Ivan spoke to each oher, halfway thinking that they would make a good couple if they decided to make a go of it. Then he shook his head at such thoughts and waited for the watress to come and deliver their orders
He didn't have a long wait. He smiled at the waitress, thanking her as she set his fish and chips down in front of him
His smiled a little brighter when Sara rejoined them, introducing herself to Ivan and then apologizing for sticking her foot in her mouth with Saito. Surprised, she even sat down next to him, which he liked immensely. He chuckled, thinking that's what he thought she had done
"That's ok, Sara. We all put a foot in our mouths from time to time. Some more then others" He winked at her, thinking he put his foot in his own mouth with Ivan
He took a bite of his fish "mmm, that's great. Better then rations, eh Skye, Ivan?"
He glanced at both to gauge their reactions

"Nice to meet you Ivan, I got here by a Privateer Ship a K'Vort class the food was OK, the cook wasn't very good at it" she says
She looked at Troy was said "That's OK, Sara. We all put a foot in our mouths from time to time. Some more then others" she then sees him wink at her
She looks at his food, them him looking at the others, She lays her head on Troy's shoulder "Can I have a bite?" she asks smiling at him

He felt something touch his shouder and he turned his head to find out what and who. He blinked in surprise and his breath caught in his throat momentarily to find Sara's head on his shoulder
What was more surprising was to notice that his lips was a mere inch away from hers
He smiled a bit, hearing that she had asked for a bite, assuming she meant his meal "Sure" he says then breaks a small piece of his fish, cod to be precise, and offered it to her

He noded,"Gald to hear you had a realtivly enjoyable ride here. I'm just happy to be here. Home was getting too comfortable for me, and there's a saying when a man becomes comfortable in one place then he better move on before he get stuck. Not to say I won't eventually go back home. Just that the change will be welcomed." He was trying hard to pay attention to everyone, but when he ate that became difficult.
He did catch the way Troy and Sara were intereacting. Always the observer on these things he inwardly smiled, and pulled out a Padd from his pocket. He sild it over to Skye it was a picture of the big blue marble they would be calling home in a while.
"If these are Thales then I will have to agree with you. It will be comfortable with home, but I'm sure with some supprises."

She notice that his lips was a mere inch away from hers as he offed her a piece of fish on fork
She slowly takes the fish from the fork while he holds it "Mmm that's good" she says then she kisses Troy "That's not Bad either" she smiles as she takes a chip
She looks at Ivan "I'm hoping this will permanent as a diplomat every few years I move, part of the Job I'd like to settle in one place along enough to start a family"
She looks back a Troy and smiles just then the waiter brings her Food "Steak with all the works Mmmm" she looks at the waiter "You got Hot sauce?" she asks the waiter nods then goes

"I'm sure it will be for a little while. I had to make sure my horses were taken care of by my family before I left. Normally people don't ask me to do that unless I am going to be away for a few years. I just hope they don't get spoiled by my brother while I'm gone." He laughted a little. Him and his brother were twins but with very different personalities. Especially when it came to rasing horses.

She looked at the padd smiling, "Aye, thats Thales our new home. She's a beaut isn't she? I was looking over the projected sites for the city, on the way here." She took a sip of her tea.
"I hope it will be on site 2. There is a very large natural loch ah lake, probably populated with fish, and if not then hopefully the ones I brought will thrive. Fish is an excellent source of protein and will be an excellent staple for us."
"Then is ample room for the first of our farming and herds. Will ya listen to me, going on the way I have. Skye Logan, calm yerself woman, time enough for work." She smiled. "Sorry to have bored ya, but I love my work."

He heard her comment that his fish is good and he agreed. His eyes widened in surprise as she then she kissed him while her head was still on his shoulder saying that was just as good. He definately agreed with that and he smiled in agreement. He saw that she stole a chip as well and he chuckled his amusement "I'll share if you share" he says to Sara with a grin
He listened as Sara told Ivan that she hoped this would be permanant as being a Diplomat she moved around a lot. She then expressed an interest to settle down and start a family then gave him a knowing smile
He gave her a smirk, wondering if that was a hint at who she might choose to start that family with "A family would be good. Be nice to settle down with a woman and have a loving family with her." He let that comment linger a moment before saying "As you being a diplomat, Sara, and I'm in charge of the Transportation Department, I can get you where you need to go" He smiles at her
He then sees the PADD Ivan is showing Skye and he looked over to peer at it as well. He whistled his admiration "Beautiful place" then listened as Skye talked about her profession
He heard her say that "Fish is an excellent source of protein and will be an excellent staple for us."
He lifted another bite of fish, agreeing with that "Aye, I'll second that notion"
He listed as she went on that stooped, telling herself to be calm. He chuckled at that than told her "No,you're not boring us at all, Skye. Although I have a question. I've heard of the term animal and fishery husbandry but never knew what that meant. Is that some sort of farmer of food and instead of growing it in the ground you grow it.. " paused a moment "breed it, for want of a better term"?
He mentally kicked himself trying to find the words to ask her

He had to look at Sky light up all about her work. It made him smile to see someone so full of life and so happy."It's alright to talk about what you know, and what you love to do. You are not boring me at all." He was shy so he didn't say anything more.
He then turned his attention to Troy as he asked her a question about what Sky was talking about. His father fished from the river but that is all he knew about fishing. He took a bite of his soup and waited to see what Sky had to say he was curious now that the subject was brought up.

She ate some more of her steak, "Well its more complicated then most would think. It goes past simply breeding, as it was once. To secure the best herd animal, or seed for a specific crop. Now, its applying scientific knowledge to it also."
"In this case I'll be establishing which of the planet resources are healthy, nutritious, easy to raise. This will involve first, establishing which are suitable for domestication, what its needs are, can it be improved on. How best to create the best in the fastest time, while insuring that inbreeding is keep to an acceptable level."
"I'll be testing what is available as food sources to establish if its safe for our consumption. Upon establishing that we need to know if its nutritional value is worth the continued steps to secure it for our use. As with all things, some are not worth the effort."
"Also if I begin to introduce staples such as Earth chickens into the environment. I will need to ascertain what if any threat does this impose on Thales. Would there be a natural predator to keep the population in check. What predator would it be and what threat does it impose to us?' She sat back in her chair looking thoughtful and sipped some more tea.
"And this is only a part of what I'll be doing. I've also taken Veterinary classes and well I can if needed act in that capacity. But for now its this my first love that will be needed the most."
"You see both go hand in hand. You canna have healthy livestock, with out the proper grain and vet care. I see it as being one in the same."
"Eventually we'll branch out to include other animals. For instance, what if any riding animals are there? What could be used as pets? In short, I dun see my job as ever becoming obsolete." She laughed. "Not as long as humans we continue to need food and enjoy animals as pets and being part of our lives."
"All of this is needed more then simply for exports enriching us by expending our base. But we canna depend on replicators, that is a valuable resource and we've only so many of them to go around."

He listened to Skye as she explained what her profession is and what she will be doing, taking a few bites of his fish and adding a little tartar sauce that had also been provided
"Wow" he smiles a bit "Sounds like you have quite a project going on there" he nodded as he heard what Ivan said "It's alright to talk about what you know, and what you love to do. You are not boring me at all."
"Yes" he added to what Ivan was saying "It lets other people know what you like and gives you something to talk about. Also, you can learn what other people like as well"
A light went on in his head as he thought of something "I Should be able to help you out there too. If you need something brought in or transported somewhere, I can provide the transportation. Would you be in need of any boats or anything of that nature?"
Then he started to think what types of transportion he can bring in to establish the colony so that the people there can get around as easy as possible

Ivan sat his eating utensil down and took a drink of his tea before getting up from the table. "If you will excuse me for a bit I must walk for a while so I don't get stiff. He then with a polite nod to everyone before getting up to take a brief walk.
He tested his knee out and limped slightly to the window where he could look out and pace back and forth without disturbing anyone, or so that was his aim.
