" I come from China. So how long have you been alive? I don't know if your joined or not. I know that is kind of a rare thing for your kind."
She could tell he was trill by the spots on his side. They were rather attractive to her like an exsotic tattoo. She couldn't help but wounder about him. She ate somemore of the chocolate puff and washed it down with some beer.

Crio's expression changed slightly, and he stopped for a moment, as not many have been willing to ask that question of him.
"Well... That's a little bit complicated... The part of me that is Crio, whom you see before you is 28 years old. I am joined, which is sometimes viewed as unique, as I don't know of many other joined male Trills in Starfleet. The symbiont known as Ijoula is a little over 400 years old and has had thirteen other host bodies prior to me.
However way you want to look at it, that adds up to a lot of memories, experiences, personalities and points of view."

"Must be hard to find your center at times with all those voices speaking. But I'm sure from what you are displaying in behavior you are able to find yourself amongst them. There are not many of your kind joined or not in starfleet at least not any I have met."
She was back to figitting in her chair. This was the first male she spoke to outside of her family in a long while. She wasn't sure if she was doing this right or if she was making a fool out of herself. All she knew was that apart of her was drawn to him.

He would nod a little at that.
"It can be, with all of that circling around my mind...
I do think I've found my voice, rather than let the voices and minds of all the others overwhelm me. But I must say that some of those experiences have come in handy on occasion."
He would notice her fidgeting.
"Are you sure I can't get you something, or help in some way?"
Despite being in the position of second-in-command, he knew very well how to be a gentleman, and didn't like seeing someone under his command being in pain.

She sighed, "I do not know how to put this in a way that won't offend you, but where I come from a man doesn't talk to a women unless he has tentions to try and persue her for a mate. So, to talk this way and to share a meal of sorts with a male is rather unusal for me. If I was in pain I would have excused myself by now and gone to my room to be in my brace. But I would like to hear more about how you relax perhap we share comin intrests."

He would nod, listening to her viewpoint carefully.
"I can appreciate your position, and that it's not easy to go outside your norm.
I do have a calisthenics program for the holodeck, especially when I need to vent frustration. I find that helps me greatly, especially after what's happened on the bridge....
I do enjoy a few sports. I was also in the Academy orchestra, which I found to help me unwind. To this day, I still enjoy musical performances.
I do have a couple of concert hall musical programs, and I'd have to check if I might have one from China in there. I do know there's one from a famed opera house on the Austrailian continent."
He would take another bite followed by a sip of tea.
"Sometimes I find it relaxing to just talk with someone I know in a setting like this.."

She had to smile he was being very understanding and had to catch herself from speaking in her native lanugage before speaking to him in standard.
"I appresate your understanding and would like to see what you do for exsercise sometime. Perhaps I can join in. I like to try new things with people I know and trust with my life. Which is what I do everyday you are my shipmate. I beleive a ship to be a sort of family. Where we should lean on each other for support when we are having hard times. Or when we are not getting along with another shipmate even if that person be a supperior officer. I beleive your friend chose someone to be in command that he though would do well in his absence. You are honoring your friend by trying to make peace with that person."
She took a drink of her beer and had to laught to herself,
"I am sorry if I sound like a warrior of sort as I am trained to defend myself in marshal arts I beleive is how it is pernounced. My standard gets a bit jumbled sometimes. The more I talk with you the less nervous I am about the ship."

He thought deeply on what she was saying, and his facial expression proved it.
"I also find that I get to feel close to those I serve with, and you put it very well that one's crewmates become their family in a very real sense.
I truthfully got to know Jim Harsting very well, and I know that he wouldn't choose someone to be his exec without having a great deal of trust in that person... I do hope that we can get along again."
He would meditate a bit on the warrior remark, and almost laughed at that, wanting to say something along the lines of possibly having a trace of Klingon blood in her, since whenever he thought of a 'warrior,' he instantly thought of the Klingons.
"I'm glad I can help. I realize that it may feel awkward to be hanging out with a superior officer in a casual situation, so let me assure you that when off-duty, you don't have to treat me like a superior -- I'm just an ordinary person, like you."
He would add a smile with that last statement.

"Good because that is how I am treating you. Like you are a man with feelings and emotions like other men. Some not like any man I've ever met or ever will meet."
She turned her head and coughed a little putting her arm up to cover her mouth. When she got done she put her arm back down on the bar her sleave ridding up a bit on her arm, and she didn't notice that her burn scars where showing a bit.
"Just like off duty I am a women, and right now enjoying a good little buz, so that would be why I am talking more then what I would normally say."

He would watch her carefully, knowing that she might be getting a little intoxicated, and wanted to make sure that nothing happened between them that would be regretted later, especially with her not being fully in control of herself.
He would nod to her at that remark.
"It's been a long time since I've been treated like this, and I do enjoy it. However, by the same token, I don't want you to be hurt, either. I do enjoy your company, and I'm open to getting to know you better."
He did notice the burn marks that were showing, and decided that it would not send him running, because of having been there already, as many have treated him badly, calling him a "parasite" just because of being a Trill, and that was even before he was joined.

"As am I about getting to know you better. I know fully that physical touch past a kiss good night would not be wise. I get myself relaxed not so hammered I can't think streight. Only do this when just on a ship have a beer then I settle down and start thinking streight."
She then noticed that her arm was showing and put her sleave back down.
"I supose you saw that. Glad you didn't grab my arm and just start examining it or run away like most have when seeing that type of burn scaring. And to answer your question from time to time it hurts but only when I don't take care of it. Which happens when I get too busy."

He would nod at her explanation, that being reassuring to him.
"I'll admit I did see that, but I've also been on the receiving end of insults to me that I viewed as unforgivable...
I do agree with the thought that anything besides a kiss goodnight would be inappropriate at this point, and I really don't want to offend you in any way."
He figured he'd leave the door open for her to add any remarks about that, especially toward what she'd like to do. Although, he admitted to himself that he found her attractive.

"As do I not want to offend you. You are good company and a peacefuly soul."
He didn't push her for the exsplination for how she got burt like she was or how far that they went she was greatful because he was being understanding.
"I am sure that as a Trill you receive several stairs and such even when you weren't bonded to your friend in your stomach. People make so many snap judgements on other races it is hard for me to beleive that we live in a world of tolernace. I think it is acceptance only if you look or act or live like what people think is normal. Not an acceptance of what is normal for each individual race."

He would think as she spoke, on what she was saying, and agreed.
However, when she mentioned that she believed he had received plenty of stares, that made his eyes widen a bit, as if she had read his mind. Deep down, he wondered if she had, or if it was just a fluke.
"What had happened to me even before joining.... is a bit of a sensitive subject for me.. I will admit that many were not willing to look at me as an equal, but rather as something... undesirable to be near.
With the exception of really Harsting, and now hopefully Grabfoot, you are now in an elite group of individuals who have not looked at me and then hurt my feelings. That elite group is of people who I feel drawn to, and have allowed to get close to me emotionally."
He hoped she would take that as a compliment and set his hand down on the table halfway between them.

She looked where he sat his hand on the table for a moment before sitting her hand on top of it.
"As are you one of the few who have seen a bit of my burns and stayed. I have a fondness for you as well. That's not the beer talking that was me. Just the beer makes it easyer for me to talk more then five words."
