He nods to her.
"A pleasure, Kestral.
To be honest, I think this is the first time I've come down here too..
When I last served here, I don't remember this place being here, so this must've been added during the last refit.
I haven't yet unpacked, either, and I was afraid I'd throw some things, especially after what happened on the bridge.
Any other time, I'd probably go to the phaser range, the gymnasium, or the holodeck and take out my frustrations there."
He would serve them each up some of the Ktarian Chocolate Puff.
"I'd forgotten just how big these things were... If I didn't know any better, I'd think our Ferengi barkeep decided to give us the 'party-size' version of this thing."
With a chuckle, he hands her a plate with some.

She had to laugh. "I'm not one to eat this type of a thing but sence it was meant to be shared I'll try to eat my share. As for things. I got only what my father gave me and the cloths I need. Other then that my things are with my family."
She put down her beer and took the plate full of the chocolate he handed her.
"I mostly don't come down and socialize because I'm shy and very privet about myself. The tention on the bridge I could feel. Gave me a headach. I know you want to honor your friend who's injured. His spirit, but you need to trust his wisdom in appointing Grab Foot to lead in his absence. That is how you are to reach a peace while on the bridge and maybe to have a friend when you are off duty to do things with so you can relax and rest to greet a new day."

He knew this would be a good time to be gentlemanly.
"It's okay if you can't eat the very much. There is something of an Earth tradition that I was told about many times when I was a cadet, called 'doggy-bagging'."
He couldn't help but chuckle as he said it, as he found that it sounded so funny. He would then take a bite from the super chocolatey puff, and then wash it down with some of the tea.
"Why anyone would want to name it after a domesticated animal, I have no idea."
He would again look at her, not having felt a fondness for anyone since he physically lost Brexen, and now not having his close friend Jim Harsting around.

" I don't get it either because where I come from we save food but we don't call it anything special but storing for the winter or for hard times to come."
She took a bite of some of the chocolate puff washing it down with some beer.
"The sadness in your eyes tell me you are missing someone. One who which you shared a great deal of yourself with. Perhaps you can talk to that person in spirit if they not be with us here in this rehelm."

He stops for a moment, blinking rapidly to clear his eyes, as they had misted up a bit.
"You said you served with Admiral Harsting, correct?
He and I were very close friends, closer than brothers, perhaps because he was extremely close friends with Ijoula's former host, Brexen. At the time..." a chuckle comes from him...
"At the time, I honestly thought he had a serious crush on Brexen."
He has to take a deep breath and clear his eyes again before he could continue.
"When I met Brexen and started getting to know her, I thought I had found someone who I wanted to spend my life with. To make a long story short, we finally did make that decision at the end of the Dominion War. However, an attack on our way back left her critically injured..."
He had to stop there, unable to continue without crying.

She put a hand on his shoulder and spoke soflty, "Your friend is still with us. His spirit rests in this rehelm of exsistance this much I know. If he passed I would have felt it being that close to the accadent."
She then had to think for a moment before huging him.
"Perhaps in time you will be strong enough to visit your Brexen in the other world but for now as you are still here you need to honor her. It is what she would want. For you to be happy and at peace with her passing to the next one."

He would speak softly to her.
"It's not quite that simple... I have her memories, personality, and everything about her remembered by the symbiont following me around my own head. At times, I can feel what happened, from both her perspective, as well as from my own.."
He tries to figure out a way to describe it better.
"Physically she died, but her memories and everything else about her are constantly with me, making it extremely hard to cope with that loss at times."

"Then you are a joined Trill. That puts you in a unique position. To have your wife with you but not really. I myself will never see my betrothed again nor do I live with any of his memories everyday. To me that would be far worse then to remember what it was like for your mate to live and to love you. To have that mix with your own emotions and know you did the right thing."
She got up off the stool and stood.
"You'll have to forgive me for standing but its my back bothering me."

He would nod slowly.
"Understandable. Is there something I can do to help you, Kestral?"
Trying to think of a way to help ease her physical pain.

"Not stair at my arms if you see the burns other then that."
She hopted back up on the stool.
"Not much you can do for an old injury. Just deal with it and when I have to I take medication to let it relax."

He would nod at her response.
"I did find some massage programs on the holodeck that might also help."
He would continue to work on the chocolate puff, finding it extremely rich and would have to pause to take frequent drinks.

"I find meditiation helps the most. I don't know if you guessed or not by now but I'm Chinese. Connections with the ground around us and our family who has passed on to the other world is very important. Touching is kind of something we don't do alot of unless with close friends or family or our mate."
She smiled and then contiuned with the drink and chocolate puff pretty sure that she just made a specital out of herself.

"Admittedly, I wasn't completely sure. I did know that it was somewhere in what is sometimes called the 'Orient' on Earth, but wasn't sure exactly where.
That does answer that question." he said with a smile.

She blinked, "I'm sorry you asked a question?" She was confused for a moment before she gathered her sences again. "You mean about my back. Someone rubbing it wouldn't be a good idea unless I know the person very well. Even then it can be questionable."

He would chuckle a bit about the part of 'asking a question'.
"I had silently wondered what part of Earth you were from. You answered that when you said you were Chinese and mentioned some of your traditional beliefs."
He also knew it would not be appropriate to offer a massage since he had pretty much just met this nice, young woman.
