Location: Galaxy Bar and Grill
Partially through his meal, he recieved a response from the bridge and it took him a couple seconds to chew what he had in his mouth and wash it down with milk
"Pleased to meet you, Ganessa.." is cut off by whom he now knew as Ganessa Ravious adressed Captain Harsting and gave him a report that all upgrades have been completely installed and that we're at yellow alert

Sam laughed, shaking the Major’s hand “I think ‘hoping’ may be a better word, Sir. Just do me a favor and stay out of my office” the smile still hanging across his face “because I guarantee that it’s messier then you’d approve of… my reports are… a little behind. But rest assured there is a method to my madness.” He remembered his last tour with the Major, during the Ktarnium incident, and was glad to see him again. It was hard to believe that it’d been less then a year since they’d served together aboard the Terrasect.
Sam greeted Captain Harsting as he entered the Bridge “Sir.” He said with a smile. Sam heard Lt. Ravious report and gave a confused look “Lt., I ordered that canceled several hours ago, why would it still be active?” Sam thought a moment, and not being able to think of a reason, he replied simply “Unless the Captain disagrees, you may cancel that now, Lt.” Sam smiled; he figured that it got missed during the excitement from earlier and wasn’t to concerned about it.
Sam turned back to the Major and the Captain.

Jim nodded. "Stand down to Condition Green." He glanced about. "Launch time is in an hour." He looked to Duncan. "Recall all alpha-shift personnel to their duty stations. Make sure we're detached from Starbase Powergrid, and prepare for docking clamp separation before launch. I'll be in my ready room going over some things." He glanced then to Sam. "Make sure our guest is... behaving. We don't need another incident." He said, obviously referring to Ann'.

Ganesa had not realized nor was made aware that LtCmdr Grant ordered the cancelation of the yellow alert. If she had known about it over several hours ago, the cancelation would have been made then. "My apologies, sir.", she replied to LtCmdr Grant.
Ganesa then heard Cpt Harsting to stand down to condtion green. "Yes, sir. Standing down to condition green.", she replied to him. Her fingers went across the console as she brought the ship to condition green. She knew Jim since he was a young child, before his mother died during a mission. Their friendship grew as Jim gotten older. There were times that she served as a bartender on some of the ships he served on, but that was before she joined Starfleet Academy.
"Opening ship-wide communications, sir.", she said to Major Kinsely. She tapped on her console and opened the ship-wide communications.

Duncan laughed for a moment, thought to himself of how different they are both are on organization. Everyone is different to get their tasks done properly. "Then I'll bring a shovel whenever I come to your office.", he jokingly said to Sam. He looked over towards LtJG Ravious as she reported to Cpt Harsting. Saw the yellow lights go off and he looked back at Cpt Harsting. As Jim began to talk to him, he looked over towards him and gave a nod. The name sounded famillair to him.
"Yes, sir.", he replied to him. He looked over towards LtJG Ravious as she mentioned that she opened the ship-wide communications. "Thank you, Lt.", he said to her.
"This is Major Duncan Kinsely. All Alpha personnel are to report to their stations immediately. We are to launch in an hour.", he replied through ship wide com.

Jim exited the bridge for his ready room as he heard Duncan speaking over the ship-wide alert. He then said. "You have the bridge."
He entered the ready room, and quickly sat down, bringing up on his console the entire listing of upgrades, repairs, as well as general listing of crew rotations.
He went through a mental checklist as well for systems to check... this was going to take a better part of an hour, he knew, but at the same time, he would rather be safe than sorry.

As he was explaining to buford what one of his bodily expression was for happiness, he starts hearing this sound being emitted by Ann and his ears tipped forward. As he was about to ask what it was, he noticed his universal translator making some strange noises as well, like it was being jammed. He shook his head, giving a grunt a slight hiss at the infernal UT, telling to behave and work right.
A minute later, both sounds stopped and he found his UT was working properly again, he would turn to Buford and comment when he felt Ann's hand pat his backside. He jumped a bit, more out of surprise then anything. He turned to where Ann was before and she wasnt there. He then turned back and looked over Buford's shoulder and saw Ann departing the bar with a playful grin on her face.
His tail coiled into a tighter loop and he was about to follow her out when the ship's comm activated and a familiar voice from the bridge, "This is Major Duncan Kinsely. All Alpha personnel are to report to their stations immediately. We are to launch in an hour."
His ears flicked back a little in surprise "Major... Kinsely"?! he would mutter to himself "I haven't heard that name spoken of in the last 6 months.."
He then shook his head and put on a serious look, glancing to Buford and stepping away toward the Exit "We better get the bridge."
As he stepped out, he tapped his own comm badge "Lt Grab Foot Of~Two Dawns to Major Kinsely. I Acknowledge and I'm on my way."
A few strides later, he enters the nearest TL "Bridge"
A few minutes later, the TL doors opened and he stepped out onto the bridge. He turned, walked over and relieved his relief officer, who reported an incident down in the Galaxy Bar and Grill that required the Ship to be taken to yellow alert. He told him that he knew about the incident and was there when it happened. As the relief officer nodded and left, he turned to the Tactocal console and tapped in his access codes

As he was listing to Grabfoot he hears this sound being emitted by Ann his hears pull down against his head he looked at Ann to ask what that was, when he realized the UT wasn't working
Soon the sound stopped and the UT worked, Buford read her lips doing that time but laughed to him self wasn't much help as he doesn't know Ferengie, when he jumps some as Ann Pats his backside, he watches Ann departing the bar with a playful grin on her face.
Turning he looks at Grabfoot with his Eyes raised and ears up slightly in Curiosity he notices Grabfoot about to follow Ann, the Buford's ears raise higher as his comm goes off "This is Major Duncan Kinsely. All Alpha personnel are to report to their stations immediately. We are to launch in an hour."
Buford thinks new crewmen the hears Grabfoot "We better get the bridge." He nods and heads for the TL after Grabfoot acknowledges Buford taps his comm badge "LtJg Buford to Major Kinsely Acknowledged on my way Sir"
Stepping in the TL with Grabfoot he exits at the Bridge the Enters and heads for his station, relieving the crewmen he sits down at Helm and keys in his code

Sam smiled at the Major’s reply, he was sure that he’d keep true to that. When Captain Harsting began issuing orders, he knew that things were starting to get in motion. Upon receiving his initial orders, Sam replied “Aye, Sir. I’ll go and check right now.” Sam turned towards Major Kinsley, nodded respectfully at being dismissed, and headed to the turbo lift.
Prior to entering, he stopped and turned back to Major Kinesly "Oh, I almost forgot, two items regarding crew, to pass along to you. " He walked up to him, so not to speak all across the bridge "Lt. Covous, our consolur, is in sickbay undergoing observation form a reaction she had earlier. Dr. MacAuley isn't sure what caused it but she'l be there for a few hours, definately past launch." pausing a moment "Also, the doctor herself said she'll be tied up in Sickbay with the Lt. and finishing up on some items she needs to have done ASAP and she won't make it on the bridge for depature, but if needed, she'll be in Sickbay." After passing along the information, he nodded to the Major and headed back towards the turbo lift.
Upon entering, he tapped his combadge “Computer: Locate ‘Ann’ and identify location audibly.” After a few seconds, the computer replied “Ann is in Holodeck 11, Promenade.” Sam instructed the turbo lift to the Promenade and off it went.
It was good to have some of the veteran crew he’d served with before back aboard, he knew that these people could be trusted and he wouldn’t have to ‘break in’ a new crew. Although he was sure that Major Kinesly would help whip most of the crew, probably even himself, into shape. The idea made him laugh as he exited the turbo lift.
He proceeded to Holodeck 11, stopping at the Security Office and ordering that an additional shift be brought on duty to assist with final departure and securing of the shipboard armories. He walked up to the Holodeck and seeing it was in use, activated the communicator “Ann? It’s Samuel, I hate to interrupt but are you able to talk for a bit?” Sam waited outside, not wanting to intrude on her right to privacy.

As the doors opened, Sam stepped in and followed Ann’s directions; it was quiet a view. He walked along the grass, and took in all of the scenery; it was truly a beautiful place. Sam found Ann lying on the ground on top a hill, she looked so relaxed and happy, in her own way. Sam found it almost disarming.
When she spoke, Sam thought a moment, he was here to help her and see how she was doing and didn’t want to come off the wrong way, so he unsnapped the top few buttons on his tunic, tugged his trousers and sat down next to Ann “A poor man’s version you say? It’s sure beautiful as it is.”
Sam listened as Ann spoke, much more openly then he thought was possible for her. Maybe this was part of the struggle her mind was having, trying to figure out if what it wanted was possible. “Well, in all fairness, some people once said that I’d never smile again…” he started, not being able to hold back the grin he had “But to honestly answer your question, I’m not sure if I can as I don’t understand what you mean by 'being a Drak’ . I know that you claim you are one, but that’s about it. As you lay here know, you appear just as any human might, but when you layer the armor you posses and the other abilities you have…” Sam thought a moment “I mean it might be easier to just start from the beginning, are you saying that in ‘the beginning’ you are humanoid and that you ‘become’ a ‘Drak’ and develop these skills and abilities, or are they always with you?” Sam listened to her response.
“I think you may be trying to deal with ‘absolutes’, which is very self defeating. By asking if you can ‘go back and be what you were’ is impossible… unless you get into temporal mechanics… which is better left alone; they always leave me with headaches.” Smiling again as he pinched the crest of his nose simulating reeling from a headache, he continued “You can never ‘go back’ to what you were, the decisions in the past make you who you are today; for better or worse. But, where as you can’t change the past, you sure can change the future, this you do one day at a time. Regardless of your past, you can always change. Criminals can be rehabilitated, former friends can be reunited, once enemies can later become best of friends, broken hearts can be mended by new loves…” Sam paused a moment, regaining his thoughts which were temporally derailed by his own comments; suddenly distracted with thoughts of Jennifer.
“It’s the ‘broken twig’ theory.” He began again “If you went back and changed one event, something as small as breaking a twig in some field somewhere that you may think is insignificant, it can impact an infinite amount of changes. As silly as it may sound, it’s true.” Pausing for a moment as he shifted himself in his seat, leaning his arm on his arched knee as they spoke.
“If you want to do something, as you say ‘go back to what you were’, then do it. You have the right to be whoever you want to be, for the most part, but if you wanted to go back to a simpler way of life you can; your life, your choice.” Sam listened as she spoke about being nothing more then a slave, a thought crossing his mind “You make it sound as if you were brainwashed to become this ‘Drak’ that you speak of. If this is true, it’s not the end of the world, as even ‘brainwashed’ persons can regain their original self. If this is what you think happened, we can help you. It’ll take time, and it’s not going to be easy, but it can be done; if YOU want it to be.” Pausing again “You need to ask yourself then, who you ‘want’ to be. I’ve seen three different versions of you, a good, a bad, and an ugly… I bet you could guess at which one we’d prefer you to be.” Sam laughed, this was most definitely a different side of her he hadn’t seen before, if this was truly who she was, who she wanted, chose, to be, then there was many possibilities for her to live her life.
“This IS what I wanted to talk to you about Ann. You need to realize that the bad and ugly Ann we met before caused an awful lot of distress and problems aboard this ship. People got hurt, a war broke out, I ended up damaging the Terrasect, etc., etc., etc.,” Sam waived his hand as to help illustrate the ‘etc.’ “We’re concerned about you, and want to help you if we can, but we also want to make sure that there won’t be anymore incidents like there were before. In addition to helping you, we’ve got a mission to complete and we want to make sure that you are okay. We’re departing in just under an hour, and Jim and I wanted to make sure that you are okay. Is there anything you need, or want to talk about, before we depart. Anything that’s critically important?” Sam looked around, and looked over Ann as she was sprawled out on the grass, unable to help it. He took a couple deep breaths, the air was itself unique; as if there were a constant perfume to it. He looked back at Ann “I’ve got a good 45 minutes dedicated to you right now, until I have to be on the bridge for departure, as I said, you’re my #1 priority at this moment; then afterwards we’ll meet for that dinner I promised and talk some more if you’re still interested.”

Sam listened as Ann explained more about her and her kind, the sociology of it all, and it started to help fill in some of the gaps, although it started answering some questions it sure seemed to be created many more. When she responded to his offer of dinner, he quickly waived a dismissive hand “Obligated? No, no. I think you misunderstood. Although I was asked by Captain Harsting to come down here to check on you before the entire senior staff got tied up in departing and getting underway.” Sam coughed to clear is throat, as the perfumed air was a bit strong compared to his normal surroundings “The dinner, that was all my idea. I figured it would be a relaxed way to talk some more, if you wanted, if not, that’s fine too.”
Sam nodded his head in agreement when Ann still mentioned she was interested in the dinner “Then it’s a date… If you’ll pardon the expression.” Sam relaxed a bit, he was glad to see Ann so relaxed, maybe, just maybe, there was hope for her yet.
When Ann inquired about them being alone, he initially wasn’t sure what she meant; A joke, flirting, fear, paranoia? He looked around at the scenery then back at her “I do believe it’s just us, why? Are you okay?” He could tell something was wrong, Ann's body language told him that, he looked concernly at her and around the area, double checking that they were alone.
Being caught completely off guard when Ann drew the needle Sam jumped up like a shot and was on his feet, not knowing what her intentions were with the needle. He looked on in horror as she stabbed herself in the neck with it, injected some substance and momentarily collapsed after the injection. Standing their in shock and confusion, he wasn’t sure what he just saw; a needed medical injection, narcotic overdose or even suicide. He waited mere seconds before dropping down next to her, he looked her up and down to assess any possible injuries and he could see the remnants of previous scarring from the needle puncture.
As Ann started to come around, he quickly reached down and grabbed the needle, removing it from her person and holding it himself. As Ann started speaking again, Sam assessed her and the injector he held. “I know you were in Sickbay Ann; not much occurs on my ship that I don’t know about…” pointing to the injector he held, trying not to yell/shout to much, keeping his anger in check “This is why you needed a Hypospray? Damnit Ann, you need to tell me what this is, what it’s for, right now.” Seeing she was regaining her composure, he sat back, placing the injector next to him “I can’t believe that this is all about an addict dealing with withdrawal, you can’t tell me that, there has to be more Ann, you need to tell me.” Sam slapped his knee with his hand, he was frustrated. But as mad as he may be, his Starfleet training kept his ‘cool’, he kept reminding himself that what they may judge as ‘wrong’ may be completely acceptable for Ann’s kind.

OOC Note: Blue eyes.
Sam listened as Ann let it all out, all the facts, all the stuff she appeared to have been holding back; He felt she was telling the truth. Ann continued to tell her story, and the idea of it was horrific, it sounded as, as if it were... "Torture..." he said allowed, with a surprising level of disbelief.
Sitting there, he looked at her, the sorrow and pain she had to be feeling. He knew that look, that level of hurt, that stinging pain that one carries with them; he'd seen it in the mirror many times. He picked up the injector set it in Ann's hands, as she lay their in this broken state. "Ann, why didn't you tell me earlier? Were you embarrased? Or does it have something to do with the reason you were 'imprisoned'?" pausing a moment as he took a couple deep breaths "Did you think we'd, or rather I, would 'shun you' for fighting an addiction brought on against your will? Not even mentioning the fact that you were taking this substitute of a drug to keep you sane, which in turned protected us and yourself; I'm both proud and impressed by that fact... I would have hoped you thought better of me."
As Ann continued to expell her 'bleeding heart', Sam gave her a quizical look "la...lab rat? cage? What are you tal... Wait a mintue. You think that we'd lock you up and throw away the key, treat you like some specimen? Oh come on." Sam was a little agitated at the thought, getting to his feet, he placed his hands on his hips and looked off into the sky. He took a deep breath and sighed; he reminded himself again that he had to put himself in Ann's shoes and think of how he would act and think if their roles were reversed. He frowned at her when she appeared to be canceling dinner and their newly developed friendship, but then smiled and looked back down at her. She reminded him of not so much a spoiled or rude child, not an enemy or anything of the like, but as women in a realtionship that has for the first time 'offended' her partner. "No one is going to lock you up in sickbay, that you can be sure of, but we still want to help. Besides, do you think I'd want to lock away someone I was planning to have dinner with?"
Sam neared Ann and knelt next to her "If you'd like my advice, I would have the good Doctor anyalzie and attempt to synthisize the chemical compound in the injector and anaylize some of your blood to see how far along the contamination is. She might be able to set up a regiment to help ween you off the drug, either over hours, days or months." Sam placed his hand on her leg, in a comforting gesture "I still want to help you, if you want that help. But you're a 'free person' here, you have the choices of how to live. Maybe later, after dinner, we can swing by and talk to the doctor for a few minutes; get her opinions, but you're not going to be treated like a caged animal. I'll be more then happy to go with you to see her if you'd like; how's that sound?"

Duncan gave a nod towards Cpt Harsting and LtCmdr Grant before they both left the bridge. "Yes, sir.", he replied to Cpt Harsting. After Cpt Harsting left the bridge, he heard LtJG Grabfoot ~Of~Two Dawns and LtJg Buford Hound reported to him. He had spent at least 6 months or more at the Starfleet Marine Academy to prepare some of the new stream of Marine Cadets, right before he was given orders to return back to USS Terrasect. He sure did miss the ship, but he missed actually been in action.
Duncan turned to see who came onto the bridge and smirked when he saw LtJG Grabfoot ~Of~ Two Dawns. "Long time no see, Lt.", he replied to him. "What report do you have for tactical?", he asked him. Duncan gave a nod over towards LtJG Buford Hound. "And what report do you have for helm?", he asked Lt Hound.

“Pity isn’t what we, I, would have given, but friendship.” Sam let Ann continue “Honestly, I’m not worried about ‘other Drak’, only you, right now. If that day comes we’ll deal with it then, but until that time, you are the only one that matters.”
Sam smiled and nodded at Ann “I’m glad you felt comfortable enough to ‘let it all out’ to me, so that I know what’s going on. I’m sure it wasn’t easy, but I’m glad you did. Now, you’re more then welcome to stay here or go about your business, I need to report to the bridge for departure; it’s about that time.” Thinking a moment, he continued “Save for a catastrophe, how about an hour or so after launch we’ll have dinner; you choice of restaurant location. Then go from there, what do ya say?”
He waited for Ann’s response, said his good bye, and exited the Holodeck. Just before stepping out, he paused in mid-step. He felt an odd feeling he hadn’t felt in a while, a long while. Ann was really ‘different’ this time, almost genuine, and it was a very appealing look for her. Sam wasn’t sure if it was the fatigue, the caffeine, or the strain that brought on the thought, but he laughed at himself, shook his head in his laughter, and then exited the Holodeck.
He proceeded back out to his office, found that everything was in working order and his additional personnel had arrived for duty. He detailed them to complete some mandatory last minute double checks and had them stationed around the Promenade and the armories, to help with the large amount of civilians aboard. Once feeling comfortable that everything was under control, he then proceeded back up to the Bridge via turbo lift.
Upon entering the bridge, he saw Lt. Grabfoot and Lt. Hound giving their status reports to Major Kinsely. Not interrupting, he proceeded to the bridge security station and brought up his display, confirming that all was still going to plan. Once the Lt.’s were done passing along their information, Sam walked up to the Major “Ship Security good to go; the armories have been stocked and reinforced, additional security posts have been placed at Sickbay, Promenade, Main Engineering and Cargo Bays 4 and 8 as they have been turned over to Security/Marine barrack style housing. But we’re all set, and I’ve spoken with Ann, I think she’ll be okay in a while, but she is definitely more cooperative and ‘human’, if the word is even applicable, then before. I’ll keep you informed.” Sam looked towards the Captain’s Chair and seeing that it was empty, he figured he knew where Jim was “Captain still in his Ready Room eh? I should probably give him an update on Ann.”
