She was trying focus on ship security, but her thought were on her team mates that were lost on the last mission. She was not sure if she could do her job anymore. She turned over her station to another officer and went to start her patrol.

Justin had his phaser set on maxium stun, aimed towards the miners that had their own weapons aimed at him and whomever was with him. He raised his right eyebrow a bit.
"I have some questions to ask first before I do that.", he would say to the leader of the minners. His marine instincts was telling him something that he should keep his weapon in his hand for the time being.
"Assuming that you all are not part of the Superior crew, why are you on this ship?", he asked.

After nodding to Ensign Khellian he offered a terse reply, "Let's do it."
"Ensign Moon, if this works we're going to have a very small window to beam them back. Be ready to start immediate beam out as soon as her shields drop."
"Captain Dorius, move us in closer to cut down on the transporter's response time. Ensign Khellian, prepare to transmit the code as soon as we're in position."
"Lieutenant Kinsely and Lieutenant Valara, please report to the bridge.

The prefix code has no effect. Apparently it's been altered in some way. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Meanwhile, on the Superior...
"I have some questions to ask first before I do that. Assuming that you all are not part of the Superior crew, why are you on this ship?" ----------------------------------------------------------------
"In case you haven't noticed, you're not in the best position to be asking questions. Nevertheless, I have no wish to harm anyone, so I'll allow you this indulgence."
"The Superior's crew is safe for the time being, we left them on a planet a short distance from here. They were given enough supplies to survive for well over a month. It pains me that it has come to this, but we cannot wait any longer for Starfleet to investigate this matter. We've waited for almost three years already."
"For the last five years we've been forced into what you would call slavery by a planet within the Federation. It seems that no one wants to hear about trouble in paradise, and so our pleas have fallen on deaf ears."
"I know we've acted like criminals, but believe me when I say that we had no choice. The living conditions has caused many of us to die, and more of us are falling ill every moment. The exploitation must stop here and now. We may be free, but as we speak there are thousands of our brethren still back on Algol Six working tirelessly in that damned mining facility."
"Without proper medical treatment my wife, and many others on board won't survive much longer. I knew a distress call would elicit a quick response so I sent one. All we want is for our sick to be treated, for your Commanding Officer to investigate this matter, and for the situation to be rectified. Now please, before anyone gets hurt, put your weapons down."

Upon hearing the page she made her way to the nearest turbolift. Before reaching it she tapped her communicator and replied. "Acknowledged bridge, I'm on my way."
Once inside the turbolift she directed it to the bridge. A few minutes later the turbolift came to a stop and she stepped out onto the bridge.

Justin listened to what the miners were saying. Slavery was something that he was against. So was what they did as well. He slowly lowered his phaser and placed at his side.
"I may be out numbered, but I prefer to keep my own weapon. As for what you just explained to me, it is something that Aniri should hear herself. Might be a good idea to explain to her the same thing that you have told me. After all, I am only a Chief Engineer Officer, but a Marine first.", he would say to them.
Justin wanted to be very careful not to say what rank Major Aniri was. In case if the miners had something planned for a high ranking officer. Like killing them, for example. It was something that he was taught in the Marine Academy.
"If you permit, I'll contact her.", he continued to say.

"Ensign Moon, if this works we're going to have a very small window to beam them back. Be ready to start immediate beam out as soon as her shields drop."
He gave a nod, and poised his fingers over the transporter controls "Aye, sir. I'm ready"
He glanced between the viewscreen, watcing the Tarawa move closer to the Superior, and his console, waiting for the Superior's shields to drop

"Yes sir." Her fingers flew over the console as she keyed in the new orders.
"Sir we are now close and still within a safe distance from the Superior. Maintaining position."

Kasia continues to try to open the sickbay door. finally it budges. Once she gets a better reading. There is no one in there. She takes a step in taking a closer look, sickbay had been completly wiped out of every major equipment possible. Biobeds included. The only thing still standing were the walls, and medical panels on them. As well as the view screens.
She taps her badge.
"Kasia to away team, sickbay is completly empty, and secured."

Kyah hears a comm for her and perks up. She tells the second to take over in the lab and she goes up to the bridge. She salutes, "Second Lt. Kinsely reporting as requested, sir!"

With a few strides the gap between he and Kinsely was reduced to less than a foot. Though he was unarmed there wasn't a trace of fear in his eyes.
"You'll find that rather difficult. The dampening field surrounding engineering is also jamming all communications. I'm going to make this very easy for you. All you have to do is drop the weapon and then I'll allow you to contact your superior."

"Yes sir." after several attempts he was still unable to drop their shields using the prefix code.
"Sir, I have not been to drop their shields. It would appear they have altered the code."

"Damn. Ensign Khellian, abort the attempt. Captain Dorius, maintain this position until further notice. For the moment continue scanning the Superior for anything out of the ordinary. Coordinate your efforts with Ensign Khellian and Ensign Moon."
Now that "Plan A" had failed it was time for another approach, and right on queue Kyah and Valara arrived on the bridge.
-------------------------------------------------- "Second Lt. Kinsely reporting as requested, sir!" --------------------------------------------------
"At ease Lieutenant, at ease. Our chief engineer indicated that there was a piece of mining equipment on board the Superior. I know it's a long shot, but I want you to check our database for the Superior's recent mission logs. Compile a list of all mining colonies within a lightyear of their projected course, and while you're at it see if you can't dig up anything else that might be useful."
"Lieutenant Valara, with their shields intact we may have to retrieve the away team via shuttlecraft. Coordinate with Lieutenant Saris and make all the necessary preparations to do so. I want to be ready should the need arise. I'll expect hourly reports from each of you."

Justin was eye to eye with the guy. His own eyes showed right back that he had no fear as well. He was too old and too much of a marine to show fear.
"Even if it is impossible to contact my superior with the dampening field up, but she would know something wasn't right if I do not respond in a timely manner. However, I will only comply in that way we can settle this peacefully.", he replied back to him. He took his phaser and placed it onto a nearby console. Even without a phaser, Justin still could use about anything as a weapon. Too much training made him to be more aware when it is better to put his weapon down.

She nods as he orders her to search the database for mining colonies that the Superior may have passed close to. "That shouldn't be too difficult, given the correct search parameters. I will have the results for you quickly, sir."
