Kestra listened to the mission details and watched for any thing out of ordinary. She was also curious what could be happening there. Her own mind was on how the crew are feeling emotionally. She folded her arms infront of her, her eyes staring at the viewscreen as some passed up the chance to ask while a few asked.
Kestra tuned her mind back to the briefing, after it had drifted off about the different possiblities. Her heart longing for getting there quickly as possible.

"A communication was received by FMar Weslynes apprising her of unusual occurrences. Events such as power fluctuations, missing ore, delays in research caused by computer error, a few citizens of the colony are missing."
"All of the above events seem to happen at random intervals. Occurring during both the daylight and night hours. In addition, a few freighters never reached their destination after departing the colony."
"Then there is the abnormal amount of accidents and a few deaths at both facilities."
"The colony itself is a mixture of races however, the predominate race is mainly Terran. For the research facility the predominate race is Vulcan."
"This colony is self sufficient and imports very little. The major export of the colony is ore that is mined." Again she paused as she took a sip to give them time to ask any questions they may have.

Jerhid didnt so much as twitch a muscle as he awaited McFerrins response. Instead he dwelt on the pleasant memory of Vash. She'd surprised him on many levels. He only hoped she'd be willing to .. dance .. with him again.

Justin gave a nod as Major Aniri answered his question. He found it very odd of how circumstances turned out after someone visits the colony. Something was not right and he knew that they needed to get to the bottem of this quickly. He doubts that it has to do with any engineering problems, but perhaps some kind of foul play or mysterous person or persons attacking on the colony and anyone visits there.
"This is odd for this to be happening. It could be quite possible that someone could sabotage these 'accidents' and for these to happen on both colonies, a group must be at hand in this, Ma'am.", he continued to say.
Justin figured that he should put his two cents in. He knew that more than one person has to be doing this.

She listened to Justin and nodded in agreement. "Ma'am, I agree, sabotage is a definite possibility. I can start looking into it through research, and ways to trace the perpetrators. How much information do we have about the situation and the colony itself?" She asked the Major.

"As we all know the alliance has generated alot of interest. There are several fractions that are against the alliance, there is a strong belief from some that is the motivating force."
"There are those who believe that the research facility is the target behind these acts. At this time, I am unable to tell you what is being researched at the facility. This should not be new to any of you, we are rarely told of such matters."
"The FMar, Colonel Allen and myself are in agreement that both the research facility and the alliance are the motivating factors behind this."
"Sabotage is part of the plan being utilized. The colony depends on the proceeds from the ore that it exports for certain goods it needs. So the abduction of the freighters makes sense. Also the ore is markable for parties taking the ore."
"Lt Kinsely, as a scientist, is there anyway the ore can be marked to make detection easy. It would need to be done so the ones pirating the ore can not detect it?"
"Lt Kinsely, as a engineer, concerning the power fluctuations and rise in accidents what is the most likely way the saboteur's would accomplish this?"
"Ensign Khellien, the transmission to FMar Weslynes was slightly distorted with some static in the background. Also a sound, something metallic was heard. Then suddenly the transmission was cut. Any ideas on what would have caused it?
She looked at them her antenna moving and curing toward the person she spoke to.

Jerhid just chuckled, a warm rumble of a sound, and walked over to check his messages on the computer, and realized there'd be a meeting in happening, and he was supposed to be there. News to him, but then, the nature of being a doctor was one unexpected event after another. Strolling out of the sickbay, he'd make his way to the meeting, entering without fuss and taking an empty seat. Folding his hands over his stomach, he settled in.

Justin would listen to what Major Aniri was saying and asking of him. He would think for a moment of the possibilities for sabotage.
“It would only take a few hand held engineering tools to reroute the power fluctuations through the systems. Take for example the Flow Distributor and then Electro-Plasma Regulator tools. Both used to correct the flow in the relays, but in the hands of someone who wants to commit sabotage, all they have to do is to readjust the flow of the plasma. Even switching the pathways in come connectors, making any thing the opposite than what they are normally suppose to be meant to do.”, he replied to her.
He knew and understood the damages when someone sabotages the whole darn thing. Then something else popped into his mind.
“Also, someone could remotely cause the accidents by using a remote device from a distance. There is no way of knowing until we get there and investigate, Ma’am.”, he continued.

"Yes ma'am... it would be easy to mark the ore. Just look for naturally occuring radioactive isotopes or mark the ore with some radioactive isotopes if it doesn't have any already. It depends on what they are mining." She furrows a brow, trying to remember if what they were mining had been mentioned so far during the meeting.

Sitting listening to the briefing his mind delves into possible scenarios. Hearing the Major's question about the transmission problem he ponders, " Quite possibly the initial transmission was being intercepted and retransmitted after the signal was analyzed and decoded. I would venture to say that if this is in fact true, the other parties listening in know we are on our way, but the most important fact is if the transmissions were only slightly distorted then they were easily decoded.
This suggests some one in the alliance with high clearance and the abrupt cut off might have been the Generals communications team realizing they were being tapped. "

"Lt Kinsely, I want you to analyze these happenings and try to find a pattern, or what the most likely targets are and when they might be hit."
"Lt Meers, so far these accidents have not been serious enough to cause death. But have also had the effect to slow down or halt work in both facilities. The most common injury to date has been cuts, and broken bones."
"I want you to do the same as Kinsely but with a medical perspective. Examine the records to see if those injured are accident prone. Also, what ever bit of insight you might have would be appreciated."
"Kyah you mentioned probes. How long will it take to ready them and how long will it take once there to mark a shipment of ore?"
"Ensign Khellian I agree with your assessment, for the reason it was halted abruptly. Should they know we are the way, they have done nothing to impeded our progress. Strange isn't it."
"I want you to study a copy of the recording and see what you can find. A Rihannsu with a mystery is like an dog with a bone. I want to know everything there is."
She paused to allow them to answer and catch up. She took another sip of water.

"Indeed Major, it is strange that the parties unknown are not interfering which suggests they would prefer to keep the 'devil known' instead of drawing to much attention to them to get the whole fleet involved." He ponders a bit more and looks around the room. A thought comes to him that he would share with the Major later. If there is a conspiracy how far spread and how many are involved ................... And how safe is any information to share?

Justin listened to what all Major Aniri would say to them and gave a nod when he heard further instructions. He would tap a few times on his PADD, making further analyzes of the situation. Hail and high waters would he let something like this go by. He knew that this needed their undivided attention. Through all of the accidents, that just have to be some kind of pattern some where. He just needed to find them and quickly as possible.
He would look up from his PADD and would catch a glimpse of the crew’s reaction to the news. Justin would look over at Lt Meers and gives him a nod. This was really the first time actually meeting a new members, including one or two medical officers.

She didn't remember mentioning probes... she felt kind of out of it. She thought for a moment, calculating in her head. "Ma'am, a probe could be used, loaded with the radioactive isotope of the metal, it can drill into the metal and release the isotope... how it would disperse is harder matter. Instead, I suggest that the probe be used to determine the exact percentages of each possible isotope and we use that percentage as an identifier for that particular shipment. We can even get as specific as finding the percentage of each rock if we wanted to. Then, the probe sends us the data and any ore of the same metal can be compared with the probe data to see if it came from the colony or elsewhere. The whole process would take slightly longer than the probe takes to get to the colony, because the data can be transmitted back to us."
