Major Aniri didn't remember leaving the dinner, the glass of champagne and the two sips of scotch left her intoxicated. Akoval must have made sure she got into thier quarters. None the less the computer woke her for the start of her shift. She sat on the the bed, stretched then got up and went in for a shower.
As she was walking into her sleeping area the computer beeped notifying her of a message. Computer open message was the simple command given. She was informed of three major changes.
"Akoval" she called out. "We have to get up and collect our belongings. We are being transferred to a new ship its called the Tarawa. Come and eat first. I have breakfest ready."
She sat down and began to eat, considering all the changes in such a small time span. As Akoval sat down she looked at him.
"I don't want to discuss what happened last night. I made a foolish mistake. But everyone keep asking me to try the scotch for my promotion. Thank you for helping me last night."
She looked down and then looked at him.
"I get my belongings together and then get the pramhar's ready for transport."

After shaking off the sleep from his head from the previous nights disaster he smiled at her.Transporters and a good hand are often very effective tools in alcohol management my friend.Sitting nibbling thru breakfast he spent time thinking about everything he had just unpacked. you know the phrama are going to be a little unsettled during the transport over to the new ship but everything else should travel lightly. and of course congratulations on your promotion handling a ship with a crew as large as the Tarawas will prove quite a challange though I will of course continue to assist in what ever way i can unless Lt roberts has me out of field exercises every day .

Thomas got very little rest after the dinner. One minute he was giving out promotions and the next he received the PADD from the Field Marshall giving him one.
On top of that he was now the Commanding Officer of a new ship the Tarawa.Climbing out of bed he showered and shaved. He nibbled at his breakfast and got dressed quickly.
The new rank pips felt odd putting them on.He shook his head,he had far to much to do to worry about pips.He began to pack his belongings he had just really put out.
He went over the technical data on his PADD as he left his quarters.Even though he had really just came aboard he felt a tinge of sadness.
The Vindi was a fine ship and now she was being put out to pasture. On the other hand he was excited to see the Tarawa.
He stepped on in the TL bags in hand and entered the Bridge for the last time.He saluted all on the Bridge and asked for the ships comm to be opened up.
Clearing his throat,"This is Lt err Colonel Allen to all crew members of the Vindicator.I am sure most of you are well aware of the changes made last night.I am giving the order for all crew members to report to the Tarawa and be at 100% efficiency in 24 hours."
Thomas paused for a second,"I realize many of you have served on this fine ship for a good while. We have been given our orders and we are getting a new ship however.I have no doubts you will continue to serve with the pride and dignity on the Tarawa as you did on the Vindi. That is all for now see you on the Tarawa Allen out."
Thomas picked up his bags turned over the ship to the base engineers and entered the TL.He exited and walked through the docking ring.He walked down the docking area and looked up.
There in the view port was a new ship, the name UFMV Tarawa written on the front of her.Smiling he walked toward her.Things were looking good so far.
As he got closer he tapped his comm badge,"Jaylas this is Allen I will be on the Tarawa meet me on the Bridge when you are settled in Allen out."
Thomas entered the docking ring showed his orders and entered.A marine pointed him to the quarter master and he walked down the corridor looking at the prettiest ship he had ever seen.

Several hours later they had thier things packed and the pramha's ready for transport. They took one last look around the quarters they shared to make sure nothing was left behind. Then they walked out carrying the duffle bags and the cage with prahma's along with the fatgrass.
They walked the short distance to the docking area. She handed the boarding orders for them both to the security guard stationed at the docking ring for the Tawara. Standing patiently as he read them, then verified them. Not out of annoyance she understood the need for Security checks. It was because of a headache.
"Welcome aboard Major Aniri and 2nd Lt Indira to the Tarawa."
"Thank you Cpl, now if you will excuse us we'll enter the ship."
Her communications badge beeped and she tapped it.
"Jaylas here. Yes sir I will meet you on the bridge in seveal hours unless its important then I will be there directly." He assured her it wasn't and that meeting him in four hours would be fine.
They walked the short boarding corridor and then up to the hatch. They went to the Quartermasters office to receive thier new quarters destination.
From there they want directly to thier quarters. Entering them they put down the duffel bags she set the environmental controls. She was used to a colder setting and a higher gav level. Once that was done she sat on the couch and looked around drinking a glass of ice cold water.
After she finished her water and began to cool off as the environmental controls dropped the temperature of her quarters by 10 degrees. Jaylas was careful not to have them any colder then that. And it was definitely more comfortable.
She walked over and got her duffel bag to unpack. She carefully took out the pictures of her family and displayed them. Then unpacked her clothing and placed them in the drawers. Then her personal things.
Finally she unpacked her blades, the chaka a blade that many say resemble a Bat'leth and is used for duels. It is also considered a blade of honor. This was a three bladed weapon large and very heavy. Jaylas took it and hung it on the wall. Her father gave it to her on the day of her first puberty.
Her other blade was the hrisal a slightly curved sword. That is called the duty blade. She gave this a place of honor as well. With these in place her unpacking was completed. She stood back and then thought briefly of her last assignment on the USS Eagle. That was the ship that was the only one in the Federation to have a mainly Andorian crew.
She called out to Akoval asking him if he needed any help and if the pramhas were settled.

Looking around his sleeping area an array of fighter models and engineering diagrams line the walls and shelves. along with a smal collection of family photos even one of his older brother in an andorian styled defense force fighter.

Thomas nodded to the quarter master and easily found his quarters. The layout of the ship was nicely planned. He entered his quarters and began to unpack.
He placed his things in his quarters.Again he was surprised at the layout of even his quarters.Everything on the Tarawa was built for functionality but it was done in such a way to be pleasing to the eye.
Taking a short break from packing Thomas sat on his bed.So much had happened so quickly. He was determined to be the best CO he could possibly be.It was like he had said however you are only as good as your crew.
Smiling he leaned back, from everything he could see so far from the crew that only meant his job would be so much easier.

"Akoval I have to meet with Allen soon. Do you want to eat dinner now or later. I think I will wait until after the dinner."
She watched him as he continued to tend to the prahma's and for the first time noticed he was very attractive. He unlike her saw the prahma's as pets and she as they were live stock. She wondered about that for a minute.
Then she started to get ready for the meeting.

He turned to her from his work feeding and tending to the Phrama. Sctually if you have business with the Colonel I can wait until later Jaylas or untill after you return really pretty self sufficent sometimes. Standing up right his antenna turned towards her as he gets himself a glass of ice water. thinking to himself how tender and caring she really seems to be and how he'll enjoy her company. he handed her her PADD with the mission data and made sure her hair was straightened and her uniform looked good slightly preening over her. You know this promotion and the management of this ship will hhonor your family and your clan. Anyone would be proud to stand next to you when you return home.

She stood there as he made sure she was presentable for her meeting.
"You honor me with your praise but between you and myself. I wonder if I am truly ready for this. At least this is only standing in until an xo can be secured. But this I swear, I will not fail Allen, this crew or ship." Her antennae leaned in his direction.
"Of course you can be self sufficient but you must admit one thing Akoval it is far nicer to have someone to share your living space and food with."

Akoval smiles over hearing Jaylas comment his face still very close to her own antenna swaying dangerously close to hers. Admittedly it is good to be with one of my own life on my previous postings was lonely at best and nerve wracking at worst so yes having someone to share my time food and living space with is a wonderful thing jaylas. As for your new posting yor coragious strong smart and quick on your feet I have no doubt you'll do everything in your ability for this crew and the ship. Stopping for a moment in his preening to notice just how fair her face was and the coloration of her skin> there perfect now your ready.

Kasia groaned as the computer announced the time, it was now 6:30 am. One thing she had never been in all four lifetimes was a morning person. She got up and went to the refresher, the party the night before had been quite excitting, but they still had yet to learn what the next mission would be. It was just as well for her, most missions didnt affect her in sickbay.
She quickly changed into her uniform and got a trill pastry and apple juice for breakfast from the replicator and checked her subspace message. It was there that she recieved the message that the Vindicator was being decommissioned and they would all be transferring within the next 24 hours. She frowned at this, she had barely gotten settled in and she would have to pack again.
The first thing she did was report to sickbay and see if there was anything she could do to help with the moving process, since the new ship: Tarawa was already commissioned and just needing a crew it had no need of any addition supplies from the Vindicator. She did grab a few padds from her old office which held reports on shifts and general crew health.
Returning to her quarters she started to pack, getting everything together, it was almost nice that she had just unpacked a few days before...it meant she actually new where everything was.

Chuck was on the bridge, when the Col. Came in. having been up early, and alerted to the change in ships, he was busy shutting down the science station and all of the related equipment. He had seen what a fire onboard an un manned ship could do, and wanted to make sure no equipment that was left on would cause that on the Vindi. He made a mental note to come back aboard tomorrow and double check the bridge equipment, even though he was certain the engineers would do the same. He would volunteer to give them a hand.
After the Col left, and he finished up, he too, gathered his belongings. That was not hard to do since he had only come aboard yesterday, and had not yet unpacked. handing his orders to the Marine at the docking ring, he glanced out at the ship. She seemed to be alive and breathing, waiting for her crew, the blood of the ship, to come aboard and give her purpose.
The Marine seemed a bit anoyed at having to clear his throat to get Chuck's attention. But Chuck passed it off. This Marine had obviously never been assigned to a ship, and did not understand the pride and emotions that can accompany the bond between person and vessel.
Having his quarters assignment from the quartermaster, Chuck walked the passages, noting how clean, and fresh the new ship was. The door to his quarters opened, and he walked into his new home, promtly tripping in the very low gravity setting and almost becoming airborne! stopping himself before bouncing off the far wall, he manuvered to the gravity settings, changing them to earth normal, then burst into laughter. He didnt know if it was a mistake, or if someone was playing a joke on him, but either way it was funny.
Setting his bags down, Chuck headed towards the bridge, to check out the new science station.

She went directly to her quarters after the dinner and was very happy for her friends who were promoted. She was very happy and content to be where she was. It had been a long day and dinner was great. Yawning she walked to her bed, undressed and then climbed in.
Several hours later the computer alarm called her name waking her up. She stretched, then sat up in the bed leaning back for a few minutes. She thought of her cousin in the Typhoon Expense wondering how things were going. Then Zar silently said a pray to the gods asking they watch over Jen.
As she was walking to the shower the computer beeped alerting her to an incoming message. Seeing it was from Jen she smiled then opened the message. As she listened she smiled. Glad that Allen was promoted and given command.
Then she found out that they were being transferred to a new ship. The ship was named Tarawa. She did a quick search to see what if anything was on file for that name. Sure enough it was there. She read the article and felt honored to serve on a ship that would remember, honor, and cherish the sacrifice those marines made.
The battle was a nightmare for sure. Taking place on earth circa 1943 in November. She lit a candle and then knelt in silent pray and mediation for the brave Marines who gave their lives that day, or who maimed. Then for those who would suffer a lifetime over the losses, sights and sounds that day. Thirty minutes later she blew out the candle.
She got up and began to pack her belongings then checking her quarters for the last made sure everything was in order. She picked up her duffel bag and slung it over her shoulder, her padd with the new orders in her hand, walking out of the Vindicator for the last time. She was struck with a sense of sadness and loss. She remembered her first day and how the ship was still being refitted.
Then the short distance to docking area. She gave her boarding pass to the security guard and was cleared to enter the ship. She walked up the boarding area and then entered the hatch. Immediately getting her quarters assignment she found them and entered.
She adjusted the environmental controls and then unpacked. By 1500 hours she was unpacked and had her quarters fixed with her personal items. She decided to go to the bridge to make sure helm was the way she wanted it to be.

On the bridge, checking his panels, Chuck hears the door to the TL open, and sees Zar enter. Smiling, watching her as she walk toward the helm station and turning to her "Hello Zar! What a day huh? From a welcome dinner to a brand new ship in 12 hours!."
