S.Gale finished sending off the report to the Riov and headed to the lounge for dinner then to the other part of her"assignment" from the Riov. Learn more about the workings of the ship and her crew. She gets to the Lounge consults her PADD and after a bit of study goes up to the food despenser and orders Mollusks, Kali-fal water, and an osol twist as an afters. Then looks for a place to sit. She sees the erie-Arrain and the Cheif Engineer and approaches cautiously, unsure on the protocol of eating in the lounge. "Excuse me Erie-Arrain, Chief Engineer, but may I sit here?"

She looked at her and smiled, slight nod, and gestured to the empty chair.
"I would welcome your company. It will give me time to practice my ..... ah Feder, hmmm, looks down. Federation standard. I am not very good at it. But have always wanted to learn."

He looked over at the Daisemi’Maenek (Chief Medical Officer), gave her a nod as she approached them, also gesturing the chair as well. Kind of taken back that a Federation Officer would come up to them, but would take it with stride.
“Please do, Doctor.”, he would reply to Cunningham.
He has not met too many humans, but was always curious of how one could handle being an exchange officer on a Romulan vessel. The ones he have met could not completely understand Romulan beliefs and traditions. Vrih gave a smirk, curious on how this one would be able to serve on a Romulan vessel.
“How are you taking it so far being on a Romulan vessel?”, he would ask the Doctor.

"Thank you", and sets her tray down. She looks thoughtful and slightly ill at ease. "Thank you Erie-Arrain, Cheif. I too, am wanting to learn, so maybe we can teach each other. Being on a Romulan vessel is a bit more difficult than expected. I wish they would have gotten me a Romulan liason instead of a "so called expert on romulan" liason from Starfleet intelligence." She gives a very apologetic look. "Usually when our commander dismisses us, we are usually free to speak, because the commander no longer has the "floor". I was not told that it was otherwise on a Rihannsu vessel." She takes a sip of water and continues. "Last thing in the world I wanted to do was to make a bad impression, but it seems that is all I'm doing." She sighs and looks dejected into her meal. "And I want to apologize to you both for running roughshod all over your ways. If I haven't, then consider it an advance apology." She smiles sheepishly.

"There is no to apologize. If I were suddenly on a Federation ship I would make just as many mistakes if not more. If a Riov says dismissed that is what is meant. If he wanted to entertain questions or comments he would ask. We assume he has many things to attend to and needs to do that."
She took her hand and ran it in her hair over her left ear, so it ended with her leaning on it, looking at the maenek.
"On a Rihannsu vessel remember this the Riov is the first, last an final authority. He will do and act only with the best interest of the entire ship and crew. His is a heavy responsible and I believe at times a burden as well."
"Our trust in the Riov is so extensive that offer our neca to him. We know he will never use that unless we have so dishonor him, the ship, and the Empire. I heard a Federation officer say once that we had the most comprehensive and ultimate trust in our Riov."
"I believe that to be an over statement. Surely you must have an oath of loyalty you give as well." She smiled sat back and took a sip of her tea.

He still leaning back in his chair, listening to Cunningham and Veralen, taking a slow drink of his second glass of Kali’fal. Even though that the Doctor did made some mistakes, at least she has the heart and was truly honest of being the best.
“At least you have did your best. I do find it honorable that you have tried to go great links to learn some of our language.”, he would reply to her.
Vrih knew very few non Romulans who would take the opportunity to learn and understand their customs. He glances over at Veralen, agreeing what she had said about loyalty. A Riov has served the Romulan Empire longer than anyone on a vessel and any Riov always had his admiration. As he brought his glass to his lips, he took note of how Veralen moved her hand through her hair, watching of how it landed so flawlessly. A small smile swept across his face and then took another sip of his drink.
He looked back over at the Maenek. “We would rather die than to dishonor our family name, our Riov, and the Empire.”, he would add.

"Oh most definately, in Starfleet we have several oaths, one is to Starfleet, but one is also a medical oath that all medical personnell in Starfleet swear as well. If you like I'll quote them both." S.Gale smiled "I understand the family honor thing possibly more than anything." She paused to take a sip of the Kali-fal a look of surprised pleasure washed across her face then continued, "Due to a little 'family history', the Cunningham name is more than just a sign of lineage. Everyone who is both born and married into the family takes on the Cunningham name." Sadness in her eyes belied the tragedy still fresh in her mind. "This is the second attempt to wipe out the Cunninghams. This time there is only me. I'm the last of my bloodline and mine is the responsibility to re-establish and continue the family honor. Death rather than dishonor was bred into my family. When the Riov reprimanded me, I felt like I was going to die with the sin of an oath left unfulfilled on my soul." She sighed deeply, "Actually this is why I sought you out, so I can learn better, without risking my life in a fatal faux pas." She then smiled, "I also hoped to make friends."

"It is sad to hear that one wishes your family to die out. If you know who it is, and have sufficient proof of these deeds of dishonor, and death why not bring it to the authorities? Whoever is doing this deserves no less. Then perhaps meeting your neca."
She leaned forward for a brief moment and placed her hand on her stomach. A slight grimace of discomfort passed over her features then she sat straight.
"Its good, that your seeking to make friends with members of the crew. It will serve you well in learning about us and our ways. The oath you saw us give is one given freely, our own wording, and we choose the time to give it. When I met him, there was a quality in him that made me realize I would, with out hesitation give my life in service to him. If we break such an oath we forfeit our lives, if you brake yours what do you lose?"

He was curious as well what kind of action would be taken if a Daisemi’Maenek brakes the medical oath. The best way to find out is to wait for her answer. He could hear the sadness in Cunningham’s voice, something that was all to familiar. He will not press to ask what happened to her family, it was something that was not his business unless she was willing to make it his business.
“In time, you will get to know how we live.”, he would say. “Perhaps, one day, the Romulan Empire would send out more Romulan Liaison to the Federation, but there might be other uses for them else where. For now, friendship will do.”, he continued to say.
Vrih took another piece of his ossoul twist and slowly ate it. He always had a particular habit to eat slowly so that he may enjoy his food while he eats. His finger would slowly move around the edge of his glass, paying attention to what was being said.

While sitting there and listening to the Maenek, a thought crossed her mind, taking out the padd she typed it in.
1) Devote no less then 15 mins per day to reading tech journals, and studies on tactical and weaponry data. By increasing ones knowledge the self doubts will decrease and give a wider area to draw from when creative means are needed for a given situation. To achieve it -- set a time that is convenient to add to the daily schedule. Daily mediation before retiring seems most likely.
She put the padd away and then looked at the Maenek waiting to hear her answer.

S.Gale grimaces "I heard that it was the Orion Syndicate, but all this happened when I was 13, oh about 27 earth years ago. It was long ago revenged by something that watched over my family. Well at least the ones responsible directly for my family's deaths. They died in a shuttle accident, or so I was told. I wasn't very aware of anything for a while after the massacre." she takes another sip of the kali-faland continues, "When I was old enough, I joined Starfleet and became a cook. When the vessel I was on was destroyed near Bajor, my escape pod landed there. I decided to dedicate my life to healing. So, here I am. Fresh out of Starfleet Medical on my first mission as a maenek." she smiles.

He would make a disgusted face as he stops moving his finger round the top of his glass. He hated the Orions with so much passion. Could not stop thinking about the innocent people that they have killed over the years. He would look over at Cunningham.
"Please, do have my condolences about your parents. At least the revenge on the ones that killed your parents were taken care of. Although, it does not really bring back one's parents. ", he would say to her.
"It is helpful to have a maenek on board. Who else is going to attend to our wounds when we are in battle?", he said with a smirk. "Although I do know some basic first aid, but I was better in other things, etrehafwe (engineering) being one of them."
Vrih picked up his glass and took another drink, slowly drinking it down before placing his glass back down on the table.

S.Gale smiled sadly, her eyes as deep verdant pools, "No. It wasn't just my parents. It was everyone on the ranch, about 300 adults and about 400 children; but true, revenge does not bring back those lost. Only the feeling that they can rest in peace or go on to thier next turn at the wheel of life. My father always said that the best revenge against one's enemies is to live well and happy. Knowing that they have failed in making you miserable." She sipped some more of the kali-fal and smiled widely at the engineer when he mentioned his other skill, "That's good to know when I'd be in need of emergency aid on the field. I'm of the opinion, the more who know at least the basics in another field, the more skilled hands to help when there is need."

She listened to the Maenek, and then to Virh. An extremely thin smile passed her lips for a brief moment. She wondered how close the requirements were between the two, the lloann'mhrahe (Federation), and the nneikha (Rihannsu Empire), for the training of military personnel. It was becoming clear there were many differences. Perhaps more then she originally considered.
Everyone had to learn the basics of first aid at the War College. It made perfect sense, a medic may not be able to respond immediately.
She heard the strange tale as told by the Maenek and nodded at its finish.
"While it will not bring those who are lost back, it can ease the pain of that loss. Especially in knowing they can never do this to another family."
"Have you seen the Gonaiih (helms person)? I have not seen him since we left the Riov-a."

He would look over at Veralen and gave a nod in agreement. Even though that the ones that did this murderous acts were killed, there are always someone that will rise up in their places. He didn’t even bother to finish his second drink, just slowly pushing it aside.
“Dhat (no), I have not seen him yet. Perhaps he is on some other part of the ship. It would not surprise me if he is already at helm.”, he would reply with a small smile swiping across his face.
Vrih was a bit curious himself where the Gonaiih would be at this very moment. He would, of course, like to meet his other fellow crewmembers.
