He listens to her voice and smiles. Though always a strong debater and skilled officer, he admires the command bearing and confidence she was exhibiting. She had grown exponentially and he could well understand why the High Command choose her for her assignment. It was also fortunate that she was the other Rihannsu Riov in the alliance fleet. He knew she and he could work together with no friction and together they would strive for honor to the Elements and Empire.
"Perhaps tomorrow evening I could come visit your New York and then you could visit the Dhivael the next day. I will have my chef prepare a dinner party and you would be more then welcome to bring whomever you choose. Just let me know the number and I will let him know."
Hearing his door chime he sighs. "Duty calls Eviess. Let me know if tomorrow is acceptable."
Looking in her eyes he tries to remember why they parted, so warm and inviting. "I will talk to you soon, my friend."
He bows slight toward the screen. Did he catch a fleeting moment of regret in her eyes?
Waiting for her response but also knowing he had someone waiting he looks up at the door he says,
"Mayri (Come)”.

She looks at him and wonders what would have been if things had worked differently.
"Tomorrow would be perfect. I look forward to seeing you again, Galan. It has been far to long."
Hearing his chime she smiles at him, "It seems our work as Riov-a is never ending. Tomorrow Galan."

She walks in and heads straight to his desk, once there she stands at attention. Then she gives him the traditional Romulan salute.
""Riov, erein Shiarrael Tei, Khhae'Saehne fraeta-a alhu talla." (reporting for duty) "" It is a honor to be here Rekkhai I will serve you, the ship, and the Empire if I falter, I ask that you end my life in honor, by your hand rather then it end in dishonor for the Empire, you, my family."
To demonstrate her loyalty to the Empire she hands him her dagger.

He looks at the new khhea'Saehne and takes her neca. Studying her paper work he nods approval. Looking up he says,
" You have an impressive record so far Erein. Continue with your work the way you have been and you will serve this ship well. However the words of an evaluator is just that, a person who observes.
I want to hear from you what brings you to request a transfer to a Warbird assigned to the alliance and what can you bring us that is not shown in your written history?"
He sits looking back and forth between her and her neca as if weighing her worth.
As he waits for her answer he hears his com panel chirp and listens to the doctor report her readiness with the medical inventory.
"Send it to my terminal and I will review it. Cretak out."

""Rekkhai I believe that each of us has a personal calling by the Elements that's unique and that the best way to succeed is to discover what you can offer to the Empire, then by working hard for the glory of the Empire.""
"I wanted this opportunity to learn the ways of the Federation and possibly Federation standard, I feel it will help me to serve the Empire better then I have in the past. What I bring to your Ship Rekkhai are my skill's as khhea'Saehne and my loyalty. ""
She stood there waiting for his reply.

(OCC Sorry have been having computer issues) He listens to her and responds, " I feel you are going to make a good addition to the crew. You have the knowledge and experience needed to fulfill your duties. I sense your eagerness to learn more and to contribute all you can to the ship and Empire. I have given the other officers assignments to aid in their personal growth. I want you to research more on mnhei'sahe (honor (loosely tr.), Ruling Passion) and we will discuss it at a later time."Handing her back her neca, " I accept your personal vow of loyalty, never doubt that I will take your life if you betray your word to the Empire and me. Now we have a dinner to prepare for."

""Yes Rekkhai""
She waited form him to dismiss her.

""Ie, Rekkhai (Yes, Sir) and Khlinae Arhem (Thank You) for this honor.""
She bowed again and turned to the door and left the Riov's ready room and headed back to her quarters to finish unpacking.

OCC this occurs the day after. We have visited the New York and this is the afternoon of the dinner (which will take place in the lounge), 'tomorrow' the New York leaves on patrol and we will begin a new SL
Looking over his crew compliment one last time he is satisfied with the group of officers the Elements choose to hand him. All were experienced and all excelled in their particular field of expertise. Grudgingly he admitted to himself that even the Vulcan and Human were exceptionally qualified in their own rights.
It would be a balance that he would need to weigh constantly until the wheels were completely greased and everyone moved in concert with each other. Putting his PADD down he reaches over to his communications panel and contacts the chef. He wanted to make sure this was a special dinner. It had been way to long since he had seen Eviess and he wanted to make this night special in her honor.
Where had the time gone? It seemed like yesterday that they were young officers ready to take on the whole quadrant. It seemed like a lifetime since those youthful thoughts had invaded his consciousness. He had seen a lot since then. Death, destruction, a war that almost tore this region of space to tatters. He shook his head. Yet, looking into her eyes the night before as they sat and talked the years peeled away like the skin of a Terran onion. Her beauty was still unmatched and her energy still filled a room with a vibrancy that matched a late summer storm on ch'Rihan....
"Riov, how may I help you?" came the voice of the chef from his panel.
"How is the meal coming along?" he inquired.
"Very well, Rekkhai. I have located the special yheo (citrus or fruit juice) you requested and I can say Rekkhai it was no easy task here on this space dock. But I called in a few favors."
Smiling he says, "I knew I could count on you to find that blend. It is Riov Radaik's favorite. Hann'yyo. I assume the hlai (an ostrich-like bird, served roasted with vegetables) will be done tender as usual."
"Ie, and we will start with ghleten (soup) and lydiar (salad) and for desert we will have sesketh (sugary confection dessert)."
Satisfied that his chef had made the proper choices he nods, "Well done. I commend you on your efforts. We shall start dinner in the lounge at 1800 hours. Cretak out." He sits back, fingers templed and goes back to the time of youth for a few more minutes.

The Transporter Tube stops and the doors open, he walks towards the Ready Room.
