Prologue

Will was packing his things for himself and his new born son.He had to catch a ship soon and meet with his wife Tirina.From there they would board the Science ship the Newton heading for the RNZ.

As he finished his packing he wondered what the New York and Captain Radiak would be like.His mind also wandered to Romulus and how they would be teated.

Looking over his shoulder,"I know many of you are wondering why I am taking this pilgrimage.I am happily married to a lovely lady and have a new born son."

"I am on a great ship with a great crew what more could I ask for right?Well that started a long time ago."

"I was found by a Federation ship in a nearly Destroyed Romulan science ship.I was the only survivor.The ship picked me up and I was adopted by two of the scientists on that ship."

He paused and sat on his bed looking at the ground."My adoptive parents left Star Fleet and I was raised in Atlanta Georgia.But being half Romulan on Earth is no walk in the park.I was shunned by most and told by my dad not to use my Romulan abilities."

"You see I was stronger,faster, and a better problem solver than other kids my age.I am not bragging just telling you so it is understood."

"So like I said before my dad in his infinite wisdom thought it best to keep me away from the other children.My mom being the consummate scientist treated me like a test subject not her son."

"She kept asking me all kinds of strange questions and ran tests on me.I really got angry about this I mean really angry.Thats when I noticed I felt things more strongly than others around me."

"I got angrier,happier,sadder,you name it I could feel it more.So jumping ahead as soon as I could I joined the marine Academy.There I excelled in most things strategic planning was my best I would say."

"I was assigned to the USS Frontier and most of you know the rest.I have risen rapidly from 2nd Lt to Marine Captain.I married Tirina and we have had a son."

"I should be completely happy right?Sorry to inform you I am not.I feel this strange calling to find out all I can about my Romulan half."

"Finally I was approached by captain Radaik.She has explained so much to me about this calling.She said it was the Elements,I am not sure what she meant but deep down I knew she was correct."

"She went so far as to arrange for us to stay with a family on Romulus and assured me they would teach me what I was missing."

"She has treated me more like a mother than the one I knew all my life."

He stood gear in one hand baby in another,"So now you know my story and why I am going.Heck I think we can all learn a lot on this Long road home I have found."

He turned and walked out his quarters heading for transporter room one.
