Indians
We hunt and play with the herds of buffalo We have the blessing of the Earth The White Man comes and our lives are ruined Our herds are dying because of the railroad We have lost the blessing of the Earth
Our crops gone dry Our herds are gone The White Man make us live on crowded reservations We change and become like the White Man We adapt to survive Our ways are being forgotten Our children -- too much like the White Man's
I give up I go to the great hunting grounds Where the herds are gone to Where the ways are kept Where the children are Indian Where we have the blessing of the Earth

Deaf Ears
No warning, storm breaks Chaos of air Moving, and wandering as the heat calls Strength gone Rain falls hard Will evaporated, Like water off of a lake. Wants and desires crushed As the limb of fate falls
The storm leaves, Taking with it Casualties and injuries Dreams lost and forgotten No survivors from this storm Truth told, not heard
Thunder fades to distance, Never gone for good, The temper of Thor -- uncertain at best, Lightning strikes more frequent The beast stirring below Rain -- Harsh words falling, Opinions requested, All encompassing rain
Of emotions shredded, Faith torn asunder by mad swirling words Where is the rainbow? Noah -- flood's started. Where is your ark?
Cries rise up to deaf heaven No answer coming

Love -- the Different Kinds
Love, you can bruise it so easy Caring and sharing, that's where it starts The different types of love, The brotherly love -- that's you to me No constraints, no ties to bind You give what you want, nothing more is demanded
Love, it can tear with such force Rending an individual blind The familial love, that's hardest to leave Gone bad at the start, but that's easy to see It gives with a person starting to grow, No qualms about sharing the knowledge of life
Love it can form so easily The love of two lovers, lifebonds full strength On sight, first sight, and other sights as well It rips and reforms, it grows and it changes You give and you take -- it's not a one way street
Love, inspired in many The love of the country -- the most expensive It calls men to their death, yet still gives back freedom I think that this love is the most costly of all Not all the time, and not all at once Many are given in defense of their loved ones
Love, forgotten in seconds The least of the loves this sits on the outskirts of feeling This love of the unexpected, the strange I know of this love, I know of its strength Stronger in some, yet never too much They want to be daring, these lovers of love
The last is the scariest -- the love of the death Some find it useful, others to gruesome They find that this love drives them to dare To go past their limits -- to exceed their dreams This is the love that catches us all in the end This love of death, of oblivion. The other sure you have to grip Other loves in order, not to slide back to This -- the peace that has no beginning, yet will end very soon I find such peace in the song of love -- Kindness, and caring Never has stopped, I find the song where the loves originate from Is where I never want to be again. The loves, they pull and push in millions of directions Not able to find one to follow individually, You try to follow them all.

A Christmas Wish
Presents every where. Being torn open, being slipped under The tree so large that I could climb it Up to the sky and see What is it that people sing about Christmas reindeer knowing how to fly?
Presents over, but I don't see what I wanted This year I wanted the largest stuffed bear I ever did see, It was at a fair and I wanted it. They won it. I claimed it. "Wait 'till Christmas you'll see." Ha.
Christmas eve with all of the people gathered Around the tree waiting for presents, Waiting their turn. Small and medium presents disbursed. I get a toy truck, a dollhouse, a barbee, But where is my bear that's what I want Where is that wonderful large white bear Won at the fair just for me and my Christmas?
"Dear Lord, please bless mommy, daddy, and All of my brothers and sisters. Please let their Christmas wishes be fulfilled. And Lord, pleas let me get that bear." "Child, do you not know that to demand something on Christmas is to have that wish never come true?" Stunned I slip into bed and dream all night long of that wonderful, Wonderful, huge, white bear.
Christmas morning, the stockings are stuffed. Running to mine, I see that there are a few new things to go with The doll house, the barbee, but still no bear. What's at the toe? It feels like paper. I drag it out and wellah! What is it? The directions to my bear.
Go tho the kitchen, open a cabinet. I get to the kitchen, but which cabinet needs opening. There! A paper slip! Go to your bedroom, open the closet. I've already looked there! But this time, It's different. It's there.
Thank you mommy, thank you daddy, You made my Christmas complete. I thank you Santa, I thank you lord, Now I have my fair won teddy bear, My huge, white, wonderful, wonderful bear.
