Operation’s Log, Stardate: 64678.14
To be a Starfleet officer is to be prepared for whatever lies over the next glacier, but not even the best trained in the Federation can be prepared for everything, and certainly not this. Before I came aboard the Aryes the crew managed to capture a Bajoran criminal. After further investigation it seems they learned the position of a secret cavern located on Bajor itself. An away team was sent into a shuttle craft including Captain Sowren, Lieutenant Commander T'lar, Lieutenant Weslynes, myself and several marines, including Lieutenant Greathouse and Captain Inid. Using the data and tricorders we attempted to locate this hidden place, but found that tricorders were insufficient due to a heavy layer of golside ore deposits.
Thankfully, one of the marines, Major Iverson, was able to locate the entrance by observing the movements of several small rodent creatures. Her senses are keen, perhaps even more so than a tricorder's, if that is possible. For I was in the midst of modifying my tricorder to boost its signal by draining the power cell of a spare phaser that Lieutenant Greathouse had offered me, when she discovered the entrance without technological aid. Instead I tucked the phaser behind my back and assisted in the search of the caverns.
Tricorders were almost useless due to the presence of golside ore, but that was not the only surprise waiting for us in the subterranean levels of Bajor. We were met by a General of the Bajoran Militia. After several moments of banter and no real information he was joined by at least a dozen more Bajoran officers and soldiers. Do not swallow bait offered by an enemy. The great and ancient Earth warrior, Sun Tzu wrote those words almost 30 centuries ago, but yet they still apply. Now I stand with my crew, the spare phaser clutched surreptitiously behind my back and facing a force of greater numbers, and I am not ashamed to say I fear the outcome. Starfleet training is both thorough and complete, but one must wonder if anything can prepare you for the betrayal of an ally.

Operation’s Log, Stardate: Supplemental
After subduing or chasing off the insurrectionists on Bajor we proceeded to sweep the underground facility for remaining dangers and personnel. While investigating the weapons lab I came across a liquid combination of ployglycern and tricolbot extract. It was a very powerful explosive substance and unstable.
We devised a way to safely disarm it. With the assistance of 2nd Lieutenant Greathouse and Captain Inid I was able to set up transporter pattern enhancers around the substance in order to use the shuttle's transporter to beam it through the golside lined caverns. Captain Inid located a safe spot in orbit of the planet to send the explosive, but that was only as precaution. The biofilters on the transporter should have done their job and removed all the dangerous compounds within the liquid rendering it harmless, and such seems the case. We detected no large explosions.
We are currently returning to the USS Aryes with a prisoner and a new understanding of what is really going on, on and under the surface of Bajor.

The Aryes was overhauled and repaired while the crew took a few days of R&R on Starbase 234. I supervised several system diagnostics as well as the overhaul of the Bio-neural gel systems. All systems are currently working in top order.
After setting these tasks and diagnostics I had a quick drink with Lieutenant Greathouse and Captain Inid on the starbase. Both are interesting officers and I find that I am enjoying their company.
I returned to the ship to finish my work before being informed that we were once again being deployed to the Beta Quadrant side of the Federation. An unknown ship has sent out a distress call. It is our task to find and make proper rescue of any and all aboard her.
My first task in this mission as the Operations Officer will be to examine the distorted message along with Ensign Ironmind to see if we can narrow our search pattern. The Ensign is an android. He or perhaps, it is a curious being.
I have never seen anything of it's like before. I was only ever aware of the late Commander Data. During my time at the Daystrom Institute I met several scientists and engineers who were working on trying to remake Dr. Soong's work, but I had not been aware that any had succeeded.
I am sure he will turn out to be a fine and capable officer, and so much for the better. We will need a capable science officer onboard, if we hope to accomplish the many tasks ahead.

He moves to the replicator. "Computer, Plomeek Soup, Hot." He takes the bowl that appears and sits down at his personal console to begin some work.

Operation’s Log, Stardate: 64837.19
After many tireless hours of I have finally been able to begin to uncover the mystery surrounding this mysterious distress call from the Beta Quadrant. With several failed attempts to restore the original degraded message I turned my attention to analyzing the degradation patterns found within the message.
I was pleased to learn that this was the correct course of action. I was able to isolate a repeating wave form pattern found within the message itself and which was partially responsible for the message's loss of information. After I ran this wave formation through several spectral and radiological tests I was able to determine that it in fact matched the low grade radiation emitted by a stellar nursery, and that the message would have had to been sent within 6 light years of any such phenomenon.
After discovering this I immediately search the astrometrics database of the ship and was able to identify a stellar nursery not only within the Beta Quadrant but within proximity to Starbase 234 to be within range to send such a message. I am confident that I have put the Aryes on the right path to discovering the identity and distress of this lost ship and her crew. I have mapped out a search grid over 12 light years that should take us only under an hour to execute. I can just hope that we are not too late.

Operation’s Log, Stardate: 65023.69
I was given a very unique opportunity by General Weslynes. I was placed in charge of the USS Aryes on a training simulation. In the scenario a power facility exploded causing mass casualties on the planet of Gerith IV. Through the tireless effort and dedication of the crew and the timely arrival of the USS Frontier we were able to get the emergency situation under control. A lot of the credit must be given to Dr. Devoroh, the ship's new CMO, and to Lieutenant Weslynes for maintaining control on the ground.
Upon further investigation it was discovered that there was a trace amount of gamma radiation particles at ground zero of the explosions. According to Ensign Irronmind this trace amount was not deadly but not natural to the facility. It is possible that we have discovered the source of the explosion. This discovery coupled with the disguised Cardassian that was captured on the surface only leads me to the conclusion that we have come upon some plot of sabotage. The scenario was incomplete but it is obvious that we did not have all the facts.
The General was impressed with my command performance and I am hoping that from this position I will receive a promotion, perhaps even a command position. Now that Captain Sowren has officially retired there are opportunities opening up on this ship for advancement. I look forward to fulfilling any role which is put to me.

Begin Operaton Officer's Duty Log Stardate 65061.91 Ensign Darryl Ironmind Reporting
I have been asked to transfer to the Operations position by Captain Shran. To this I agreed.
Upon assumptino of this position, I began the micro programming which was necessary to assimilate the data, and process the new requirements of the position. As such, I have gained the following knowledge: Communications between ship and shore, and between ships. Also, I am gaining the knowledge on how to balance the ship's power requirements.
While I was thus undergoing the minor changes, we began our new mission. Destination Sigma Iota III where several faint, and unusual transmissions have been origonating from. Captain Shran, with the understanding of his superiors has elected to investigate.
Upon arrival, we encountered a technology level higher than expected, as the last recorded interaction with the world did not show technological advancments indicitave of this type of increase. Probabilities incline to indicate there had been prior Federation interferance. Which was also supported by the fact that when hailed, the speaker knew to ask for the Captain of the ship, and then called himself "Kirk".
Though the name was indicated as a title, this may be safely calculated with a probability of over 65 % to indicate that James T Kirk, in either his role of captain, or admiral did visit this world, and interfere with it's development. Commander T'lar made such a reference, which I am also including in the calulations.
As UI am still programming protocols for Operations, I suggested a scan of the planet to asses their technology levels. But, Captain Shran declined such services, stating he did not wish to seem overly agressive. After the communications, I again mentioned the scans, but have not yet recieved an answer.
Instead, we are now preparing for an away mission with the Captain, Lt. Weslynes, myself and a small security detail. This is to speak with the self declared "Kirk". I have equipped my pack with those supplies calculated to be necessary for the organic beings should the mission become volitile. I have also equipped myself with a phaser and light armor should it become necessary to serve as a defense to the Captain and others.
I am currently running an update for away missions, so that I am able to access the protocols for this upcomming away mission.

Begin Operaton Officer's Duty Log Stardate 65081.54 Ensign Darryl Ironmind Reporting
Report in absentia, stored in my memory banks until such point as I can download it to the proper files.
We have reached the surface of the planet Sigma Iota III, where we were greeted by four armed guards to escort us to their "Kirk". It appears that the name we recognize as a person means a title of some sort to this population. There is a definite probability curve for the activity being related to the 1960's mobster type activities.
Even with Lt Darius along supported by his security teams, there is a high probability we shall encounter more resitance that we initially intended to.
We were escorted into a building where someone's activity outside caused the immeidate interal security personell to become hyper alert. We were escorted under gun point into the presence of this "Kirk" figure, who was treated, acting, and presenting himself as a 1960's mob boss.
Though, during the talking which happened, it was discovered that one of our team members had been attacked and rendered unconcious. We were then accused of becoming "soft" in the federation, which prompted both Lt. Darius and Captain Shran to begin re-educating this "Kirk" to our current protocols. When both attacked, I calculated the probabilities, and attacked as well. Probabilities indicated that I could at least get the Captain out. However, my calculations were incomplete, as the room was soon flooded with new guards. Captain Shran was hit with some sort of projectile weapon, of which I recieved partial damage while attempting to protect him. Lt. Darius was rendered unconcious, and I was born to the ground under a weight which even I could not move.
Though, I had managed at one point in this encounter managed to free myself and begin an escape with Captain Shran, I was shorted when hit with several phasers on full stun. Though, this caused a short black out while my internal power sources rerouted, it was long enough for more guards to arrive to pinion me again, and move the entire unconcious team to a holding cell.
Thus, as I awaken, I find my surroundings.

Begin Operaton Officer's Duty Log Stardate 65333.94 Ensign Darryl Ironmind Reporting
With the work on my memory circuits 25.32% complete, I have once more begun assuming my duties. I have been presented with the problem of diagnosing a phaser's memory for any possible malfunctions which might have occured the last time Clyde Greathouse fired it.
Though I am not running at peak efficiency, Lt. Darius Weslynes has decided I am capable enough of completing this task. Thus I have begun to decipher the memory and the build in diagnostics for such data as may be required.
No data has been retrieved to date.
