*** Chief Science Officer's Log Erien Mnheia Llweii reporting ***
After hosting dinner for the new Romulan Riov, we have been dispatched to escort a penal ship with an important criminal to their destination. It was likely there would be one or more attempts at rescue, which probabilities have proven out.
During the trip, we detected a cloaked ship, which when it became visible, resembled a Klingon BoP, but did not scan like one. Through out the battle, I have attempted to verify the origin of the ship through it's readings, but have yet to penetrate the shield enough to do so.
We are still engaged, and I have recorded this engagement to be sent to the High Command. Though re-inforcements have arrived in the form of two more ships, they have not yet engaged the enemy. The transport seems to have been unharmed at this time, though I am reviewing the records to ensure this fact.

Tonight, though we are engaged in battle, we took a moment during a break to gather in the lounge, and speak about the recient dinner provided by the Riov of the Dhvial.
Though I had attended, I left early so that I could return to duty, and it was most informative to hear the others speak of the occurances.
Though I am not close to any of the New York's crew, perhaps this evening has provided me with an opportunity to establish a few new freindships. I shall have to see how this goes.

While escorting the penal ship to it's destination, we transfered the Terrorist leader to the brig of the NY, to ensure his arrival. At a distance of 10.36 light years from the planetary defense grid, we were set upon by two ships who detected us through a problem in our cloak.
We did manage to deliver the terrorist to his proper destination, the penal colony, however, the New York suffered some extra damage as the result of the short, intense battle.

We have broken orbit, and are enroute to ch'Riha. I have begun scanning the area around the ship, and disciplining myself about using shift time to gather material for my hobbies.
Along the way, there was an attempt by the Breen and Orions to find the ship. Several shots were fired, of which one connected, but did not lead to a confirmed weapon's lock.
We are only hours away from ch'Rihan's long range scaners.

We have left Ch'Riha after several days of shore leave. Upon our departure, we were informed that the destination was Federation space to deliver some cargo. And, we have also been warned to keep a close look out for anyone who is attempting to follow, or find us.
As we followed the shipping lanes out, the Orions and the Breen which followed us in were spotted scanning all out ward bound trails. Even with our cloaking device, they begain moving a parallel course to ours, though it is not immediatly apparent if they have discovered if it is the New York yet or not.
With that in mind, and the possiblility that we might have to hide, I have located a patch of ionized gas nearby, and transfered the coordinates to Helm. I have also monitored the communication channels of all nearby vessels. So far, I have not detected a level of activity which would be indicitive of our discovery.

We have continues to research the "grave yard" of ships. Though much has been discovered, how to prevent any more explosions from happening had not yet been effected.
However, we were able to recover one of our probes apparently which had intercepted a message from the Pegasus. Included in the message string was a formula which appears to be able to destroy both strains of the bacterial. As we speak, Dawn'lia and myself are working on formulating the actual tissue shown as a strict chemical and mathematical formula. I t ruely hope this works.
