We have finished the mercy mission and it has gone better then expected. Even with the unusal twist and turns. The famine turned out to be caused by natural events. All worlds have cycles of plenty and famine. And usually it can be lessened by storehouse's and proper forcasting. But every once in awhile the Elements throw in an increased level of difficulty. That is where they found themselves.
The additional supplies added by the so unselfless donation (smiles) of Captian Smith will more then hold them long enough to restock thier supplies.

A most distressful event took place. A scientist in our care was murdered, during the reception held for our guest. Our Doctor has completed an autopsy. The findings are as follows: 1) The primary cause of death was organ and tissue damage inflicted on major organs, caused by a sharp instrument. The attack was done to inflict as much damage to as many vital organs as possible. Weapon is believed to be a knife. 2) Evidence of clawing on the back and neck. 3) Secondary cause of death loss of blood.
Forensic evidence 1) Cloth held in the victim's hand was determined to be cotton, type found on several worlds. 2) DNA sample from the hair/fur strands found at the scene, are identified as Ktarian.
Security report is as follows: 1) Terran Scientist Johnson was murdered in his quarters time approximate was 10:40 pm. 2) Evidence suggest he was attacked in this bathroom and then a struggle pursued. 3) He was stabbed a total of 6 times. 4) Forensic evidence includes hair/fur strands and a piece of cloth Johnson had clenched in his hand.
As much as we know, we still haven't identified the killer. We will need to pursue this and have it resolved asap. I hope it will be by the time we reach Aldebran III. Which is the destination of the scientist on board.
Since it is a scientist who was murdered, it would be logical to assume that something in the project they are working is the primary reason for the attack. I will be ordering additional security details for the scientist.

We have entered Romulan space and my heart is overjoyed. I understand many on this ship do not share these feelings. I will do everything I can to assist them.
Before entering a crew member Tei, became ill. She was found unconscious. It was discovered she had Treoka Virus. We did not have the proper medicine to treat her with. But fortunately, we were close enough to the RNZ to get her the proper care. She is now in a facility for treatment.
I look forward this time, and surprisingly this crew and ship. It will be an honor to show them our space and ways. It is a great time, no it is historic both of our people. This step both of our governments is a bold one, and so very important. It is good to be home.

The Rihannsu saehne (Romulan officers) have returned to the listening post after being treated for injuries. I will be receiving a full report, and will know from that w what actions will be required, if any. The maintenance shuttle has arrived and repairs to the LP have begun.
The kll'inghann (Klingon) Bird of prey is still watching us intently. They are so very close to entering the stelai ler'khelloann (Klingon neutral zone). Are they testing my nerves? If so, they will be disappointed. I will make no move, nor will I allow any to move against them.
The rhaetelh saehne (executive officer) ran a battle readiness drill. I still have not received a full report, however the initial results speak well for this crew. I am very pleased with them.

Once the LP was running and its defensive systems were on-line we entered into a standard patrol of the stelai ler'khelloann (klingon neutral zone), between the zones KNZ 23-32. All was going well until we received a distress form a Rihannsu mosarum'haer ( Romulan freighter). She had a system failure and was floating dangerously close to the neutral zone.
We responded and were able to retrieve her after Lt Jarius used tractor beams to bring her back into our space. We are now positioned next to her while an away team takes care of any repairs needed.
Everything quite routine until a cloaked vessel headed toward Kll'inghann (klingon) space was able to get past us. It is believed this may have been a ruse to distract us. Lets hope it is not. The freighter records will determine if it was.

The plot thickens, we were assisting the disabled freighter when Lt Jarus discovered a piece of debris. Which was actually a ploy used by smugglers to get away from patrol ships. A full investigation of this is now in order. And a report will be sent to ch'Rihan.
What disturbs me most is the lack of response on the part of a bridge crew member. I am hoping to get to the bottom of this quickly.
We had to preform an emergency transport of the away team. Along with the crew and injured of the freighter.
On another note, it appears the freighter was concealing, transporting in full or in parts the federating torpedo referred to as LOX. As I speak, a search for the possible connections to this LOX is already in progress. And the crew will have to be interrogated to find out the details involved.

Ah, the plot continues to thinken and the mission takes on a more interesting note. I have learned quite a bit since my last entry. The first was brought to my attention by my excutive officer. This was sent immediately upon learning of it, coded and over a secured channel. The second matter, deals with one of the crew was a former slave of one Jarran, a known criminal and arms dealer. He now awaits his execution, I have contacted High Command with the entire story of her and Jarran's activities. Including the one known as Ri'Pak. I eagerly await the response.
I am hoping we will be included in the (very slight smirk), capture of this wort. (Romulan curse) I have told them it is important we are considered for the sake of the crew member, who stills fears him. Besides I have not been in battles of note, since our return.
I am already considering strategies. I am not in my favorite ship so I must figure this out for a Federation ship, since I am sure we will be included.

The elements have smiled on us and we have been chosen to be in the force which will bring down the vang'radam (traitor). It is a great honor to be included, and this crew is more then ready for the task at hand. For now, for our safety and to give time for the full force to amess we sit and wait. The lack of a cloaking device prohibts us from being any closer. There will be a surprise for Lt Montag. One that should bring her peace at last. The burden she has carried must have wieghed heavy on her mind.

We arrived at the ch' (planet), and held our position waiting for the joint military action to begin. This is where Ri'pak had his liar and planned his criminal activities. Our system of justice differs greatly from the lloann'mhrahel (Federation) system. It causes me to consider how the crew will view this.
None-the-less, we saw vauthil (victory) over this vang'radam (traitor) to the nneikha (Romulan Empire). He was hiding when one of the teams under my command found him. Other forms of contraband were found and will be destroyed. Including the arms he sold as part of his criminal activities. This alone is a traitorous act.
What concerns me is the discovery of three Rihanha kuoku-a (Romulan young people- here to denote teenagers). If it is, as suspected these teenagers were intended for the slave market against the will of their parents, Ri'Pak has indeed committed a grave crime. Perhaps our counselor will be able to get them to tell us how and why they are here.
We are now preparing for the second part of this joint venture. Which I beseech the Elements to give Lt Montag the peace she needs.

We have return to the ship with Ri'Pak. I have placed our ops officer Lt Greene guard him. While he has taunted her, she has remained calm, logical and focused. Showing her superior training, Star Fleet has done well with her.
While on the surface, would be rescuers of Ri'Pak began to approach us. Their intent was not only to secure him but to extract revenge in the form of a full attack against us. As is the nature of Pi'Pak, no one would have been left alive. We (command center) sent out our people to surprise them and to reverse this. It was successful, and we remain alive.
We have destroyed the contraband leaving nothing but ash behind. Once aboard the ship we destroyed the compound. We are now in orbit around ch'Rihan.

We are on ch'Rihan and it is good to feel the soil of my home world under my feet once again. The reason for being here, is well.................. unpleasant. The ryak'na (trash, garbage) vang'radam (traitor) Ri'Pak is being tried. And the relationship between it and my crew member is now fully understood.
He will not escape the reward for his actions, she has a smirk on her face. After this trail hopefully we will have time to visit. I would so enjoy a visit to my home and see my family again. I have digressed.
It has been an honor to participate in the joint military effort to capture the vang'radam. While most of my crew is lloann'na (Federation), they preformed as well, equal to that of a Rihna. I was impressed. And for those who know me well, know that is not as easy to do as one might think.

While on route to Gaius, we were able to test the new target acquisition software. We came across a piece of normal space debris. I had my XO give the order to test this software, by acquiring the target and then vaporizing it. The test was successful. Once again our scientist have proven themselves.
We are now orbiting Gaiuns. We were the ship that carried the ambassador. I have my XO escorting the Ambassador to the surface via a shuttle. He will remain with the Ambassador until the ground transportation arrives.

We arrived at Gaius without incident, things went well as we entered a slightly lowered orbit to allow the other escort vessels to give us cover. I personally feel somewhat at a loss without a cloaking device. Although I have done extremely well without it. I had the Ambassador taken to the planet via a shuttle. It has been reported and by his own admission he detest using a transporter. I placed Colonel Stevenson in charge and he assembled an away team. I must say they did remarkably well. There was a civil protest on the ground and it was expected. The Tal'shair and Colonel Stevenson working together got the ambassador to the embassy. There was an unfortunate incident when the Ambassador fall upon entering the building. It was later learned he suffered a minor stroke. May the Elements care for him, and return him to health. We have concluded the inspection of the facility, the physical examinations, and the inspection of the shuttles. We even had time to view the caves where there are ancient writings on the wall.
To date no one has found the key that will unlock the mystery. Our scientist are still working on this. Little has been learned about the people who did the writings.
After our return to the ship I received a sub space message. We are to return to ch'Rihan. I have to go before a military board and explain my actions on Gauis. I grow anxious but trust the elements that all take place as needed.
