"Well, I still don't see how the holodeck can cause any harm with the safties on."
She laughs and dodges behind her horse. The gelding snorts again and wanders farther down the bank, nibbling grass as he meanders. "Uh oh, my shield left."

"I suppose even holograms need to eat... other holograms." She laughs as she gets wet. She splashes more water in all directions as she runs downstream after her horse. She slides around and gets stuck in the sand a couple of times.

She suddenly tumbles head first into the stream. Sputtering and covered with water and sand, she looks up and sees Johanas. She spits a mouthful of sandy water at him as she struggles to her feet. She smiles at Ejiul. "I'm ok, thanks."
Then she retorts to Johanas, "I happen to like riding the gelding... I'm not afraid of falling off."
She rubs a handful of sand pulled off her uniform into his hair.

He tapped on the computer keypad on the side of the Holodeck.A light came out from under the doors as they hissed open.
Walking in he looked upon the Fire Falls of his home planet ch'Rihan. He sat exactly where he had shown Commander Danrea and Arrenhe a beautiful Rihannsu woman that when he left had still been on the New York.
She was the first female ever to get his attention and he just started to develop feelings for her.Her hair that light but sweet smell.Yes he remembered that all to well.
Quietly in his mind he prayed the Elements would keep her safe and would one day allow him if only a glimpse to see her face again.

Post by Lt Commander Kuvak on Aug 29, 2009 18:23:50 GMT -5
Kuvak finished his duty shift but for went establishing his new quarters. Instead the Vulcan officer opted for time on the holodeck. He had brought a combat program with him from Horizon, that he used in times like this. He needed to calm his emotions. There was so much negative energy in the air on the bridge that even a Vulcan could succumb to it. He loaded in the program and announce. "Computer run Kuvak martial combat simulation 16. Difficulty level 10."
The computer imaging started and a lirpa appeared in his hand. Kuvak removed his tunic and rested on the ground. He had leveled his studies of Suss mahn* to using the lirpa several years ago. The simulation started and he spun the lirpa in his hand at such a speed that it became a silver grey blur. The first group was human. He was able to dispatch them easily using the bludgeoning end of the weapon. The next group was Orion, four of them. He swung the weapon in full motion shattering the knee of one of his assailants. He remembered his 'suss mahn' training . In a motions so fluid it could have been a practiced kata, he avoided a sword attack with a sidestep that allowed the hostile to run his ally through. Without wasting motion his next move crushed the skull of the sword wielder.
He was getting slightly winded, but the program had no options for fatigue except to stop it. The next wave was Klingon. There were six of them. As he fought his mind went to his meeting with the Romulan Captain and her feelings of reunification. It reminded him of the basic combat edicts taught to vulcan's as youths. Never despise your emotions, control them, understand them and use them. The unenlightened my feel that vulcan deny their emotions, but that was far from the truth. Emotions are tools. In a battle such as this they can either make you stronger or careless. Sometimes they can make you both.
The Klingons were a bit more difficult to dispatch but he had done it. It had required him to use the bladed end of the lirpa to do it. At this point, both sides of the weapon were stained with various colors of blood. Most would ask why a Vulcan would make sport of killing. Kuvak would explain that taking a life is not a sport, but sometimes necessary. The wise man both understands this. A wiser man prepares themselves for the act so that it is done quickly and with as little effort as possible.
The numbers became greater and greater and Kuvak had found victory more and more difficult. He knew he could not win. He had never finished the program. After several hours of fighting he had finally fell and ended the program. The safety protocols were in place so he was not injured, just extremely tired. He got to his feet and put his tunic back on. He was covered in sweat now and need to get a sonic shower before returning to duty. As second officer he had to command the final shift staff on the bridge .
*lirpa- Vulcan weapon with consisting of a metal staff with a bludgeoning instrument on one end and a blade on teh other. Suss mahn- Vulcan for of martial arts

She had walked into the holodeck not really knowing what to expect. She looked around and saw nothing there. "Computer display Vulcan with proper atmosphere as if one was standing on the planet itself." She saw the display of desert type setting of Vulcan and listened to the computer warning her of the thin air and heat. "Continue and warn anyone who should want to enter." After the computer's acknowledgment she notices the difference and started to walk around. She felt at home even though Vulcan was not her home. "Computer display a time of bonding." She heard the computer's question and explain as much as she could about the Pon Farr time. Again the computer warned her of such valance and continued to display after she acknowledged it. She watched two couples bonding in two different ways. One bonded with no problems but the other one bonded after a fight and the winner took the prize mate. She walked over to the Vulcan that lost the battle and leaned over to find the Vulcan dead. She then walked over to the weapons that were used in the fight. She figured she could handle the Lirpa but was not sure about the Ahn-woon. She picked up the Ahn-woon and looked it over thinking of it as an old Earth weapon known as a Slingshot. Even though there were differences the thought did come to her mind. She looked back at the two couples as they walked way in a Vulcan way of happiness. She though about when Commander Kuvak in his time of Pon Farr. Would he just choose some unbounded Vulcan and if so would she be able to control her emotions to let him do so or try to fight the female he chose in a Kal-if-fee. It was strange how the Vulcan way of mating was close to the Klingon way. Vulcan fight to win a mate and Klingon fight doing mating. She snicker at the thought of a Vulcan doing it the Klingon way or the Klingon doing it the Vulcan way. She hears the computer inform her she has one hour before her shift. "Computer end program." And with that said she rushes out of the holodeck into a thicker and more cooler atmosphere.
